I'm hooked on this video 😄. They did a great job of representing the original while bringing their own flair and playing on their strengths. Plus, their goofiness made it really fun to watch. The original song had a lighthearted feeling and they really captured that in their own way.
THANK you for slowing Tim’s riff! I really wanted to appreciate that fully. He sounds so good all through his range. I also really like the 16th note “bass guitar” sounds in the accompaniment. I understand they’ve known since last MAY that they’d get to work with Tim and somehow managed to keep that under wraps all this time. Wow. These guys should work for Homeland Security. You’ll need to go back and fully appreciate the silliness that is happening in the visuals. Great reaction as always, Thou!! Can you pretty please check out Marwan’s recent Avi Kaplan tribute? (Get Down). It deserves some attention because it’s really good! I suspect he hasn’t been asking for reactors to check it out because it came out just before this and he didn’t want to steal the thunder, but that’s far too humble.
You are welcome! Consider it done - Marwan is an amazing musician. I'm just catching up on my own arrangements and covers and will get back on track in March, hopefully. Thanks!
For a swede, the rendition with Björn Skifs and his band Blåblus which topped Billboard first in 1974 and then again in 2014 as Guardians of Galaxy was released, is the original, though I dö know that was a cover as well. It's been on my personal playlist since I was a young girl in 1974, almost 50 years. It's alwsys been among my top 5 favourites. Not so easy to substitute with a new one, but the Bass Gang and Tim did great work here. I've already played it many times. Loved the little glimps of Casper near the end, as I understand he has been instrumental in helping BG get this collab going.
Thanks for the info! I believe you are correct - I'll be slowly adding info as I receive it to my description as well (so glad that yt allows editing for these things). Agreed - Casper is amazing and does great work 🔥
Haha I might - it's so hard to get any sound out at times but should be fine. Thanks again brother - loved the dance moves too haha (all I can do is the Thou step lol)
Right? If I could pretend like that I would do it more often. Pretty sure he just has that range in his pocket and uses it as he wishes haha. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your analysis. How great was that! Love having Tim sing with the Bass Gang. Tim is the growl master but he can also sing high. I have always liked this song done first by the late B.J. Thomas in 1968. It was later done by Jonathan King in 1971 & Blue Swede in 1974 who both added the "ooga chaka" part.
Thanks for the info! My first listen of this song was the Blue Swede version and only later found out it was done first by BJ Thomas. I listed the Blue Swede version since that was what Tomi used for the arrangement. Thank you!
Still cannot believe that they got the legend himself Tim Foust on this track. I am a huge Tim Foust fan and a bass gang fan. I love the whole thing. The only thing that I would’ve done differently was at some point in the peace gave Tim an opportunity to drop, one of his famous growl that sit on the bottom of the piano like a b0 or a0
Thanks! It's from painting (sanding, priming, and painting) with my brother-in-law the day before. Had to get done but also probably wasn't the best idea haha. Thanks!
Yikes, feel better soon. After having COVID, I was completely locked out of my pure chest voice below C2 and all subharmonics for 2 months... but yet my voice was also somehow deeper in fry, lol... I sounded like everything was fry and a popcorn popper. As for the song, it's Tim, so I excepted it to be good.
Thanks! This was from painting with my brother in law the day before. Probably wasn't the best day but it needed to be done haha. Pretty sure I'm just more sensitive to drywall, primer, paint, etc. than others. 👍
Sorry the best A Capella group used the ill fated distortion of an otherwise great SONG ...... the original was phenomenal ...... this is torture for a fan of B.J. Thomas !
Thank you for the reaction!
Your analysis is second to none!
Thank you, brother basses! Always a pleasure 🔥
gotta leave a like immediately for the background

Agreed! I like that they kept it consistent as well while injecting their style into it. Great work from the gang haha.
Thanks!

@@bass2yang Ooo!! More to come from you! Looking forward!

New Sub for Tim Foust. Marvelous collaboration. Checking out Bass Gang now. Already know Peter Barber from his channel.
Awesome! All the bass brothers doing amazing work indeed 👏
Same!! ❤️
This is amazing. Tim Foust has an insane range. All these guys are so talented.
More like Bass4Yang 😂I hope you recorded some Oktavism! Thanks for the video my friend -- glad you enjoyed :]

How did ya'll keep this secret? Awesome reveal guys.
Tim, nobody better!! I know they are so excited about Tim!! Subbed for Tim Foust!!
Thank you!
Awesome like always! I love that this was a blind reaction for you. It's a good reveal 😄
Thank you! They labeled it untitled when I downloaded it. They had my interest but got my full attention real quick! Haha
Tim showing off that 5+octave range is always fun, especially when he pretends to be a power tenor.
Right? If I could pretend like that I would do it more often. Pretty sure he just has that range in his pocket and uses it as he wishes haha.
Thanks for watching!
The initial reaction to seeing Tim was priceless.
I was grinning like an idiot the entire livestream. So glad to have your input
Haha awesome! Glad to have been able to get this video together for everyone!
Love the keyboard you show, easier for me to visually "see" where the key placement is. Thank you for your great reaction to this.
You are welcome!

Brings back fun memories. Thank you for sharing.

This was so much fun. And impressive voices all around.
Agreed!

Haha true! Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a nice and precise reaction sir!!! Thank you for explaining and spreading knowledge!!
You are welcome and thank you for your words!
Wow! Just came across you by happenstance.
I love your speaking voice!
Thank you!
I figured that you would be making a video on this one and I'm glad to see that you have! Always appreciate your analyses of all things bass!
Thanks! I was "strong-armed" to voluntarily react to their video. Haha.
You are welcome!
@@bass2yang being voluntold isn't usually a positive thing, but I think in this instance it wasn't much of a hardship 😆
Haha agreed lol 🔥
thanks for the video
You are welcome!
Thank you for a great reaction video I hope that you get feeling better soon. Take care.
Thank you!
Killed it
🔥
4:49 - G#1 in chest WOW! Looks like your voice has gotten a couple of semitones lower:D
Hope you will feel better soon!

Welcome!!
This is a great rendition by these guys just want to know who did the arrangement?
Tomi P did the arrangement! You can check out my description above since I push their information as well on my page. Thanks!
I do wonder man, if I can sometiems hit a chest C2 but it’s usually strohbass, could I improve my lower register at all?
yang how do i know if im just vocal frying instead of a subharmonic?
If you're looking for different music, I have some I made myself for you to react to
Thanks!
Sub as I appreciate your analysis.
