And this is why you run one of the two Landau Light Cones. Landau’s Choice in particular is one of FireMC’s BiS Light Cones.
Preservation characters still have a higher base chance of getting hit, unless those enemies ignore that base chance as well, im not sure

Just thought I'd point out that FireMC is Preservation, not Erudition.
Yup i could only change the subtext about it, eventually they'll get erudition but its not this version haha

Clara with ult + March's shield = Tingyun as the most sought after target for every single type of enemy imaginable
I hear you, and it makes sense, but hear me out: I just place my characters so my favorite ones are closer to the foreground in the team screen
I always place my healer next to my Tank, because both Natasha and Bailu require massive Max HP pools in order to efficiently heal the team. This means that they can soak up a lot of damage if I can pad out their Defense, and also generate a lot more Energy for themselves from taking blast range attacks.
Though, this’ll likely change with Luocha, who’s healing scales off of ATK rather than HP.
yes im intrigued to see how luocha fits team placement wise, but realistically he'll be just fine in most positions

I wonder why the enemy keeps attacking my Tingyun instead of Clara, regardless of how I arrange them 😂
because it will give the enemies a advantage because without a healer you can't heal your allie's which then the enemies will deal damage to your allie's, kill them, and they you will only have your clara alive due to her able to counter enemy attack
You should check your light cone you might have given her one that makes the enemies target her
@@nongrose6920 I'm using Bronya's LC. Also that kind of LC is usually owned by the preservation path.
@@exmodeus some light cone's feature makes the wearer more likely to get attacked but bronya's doesn't do that so I'm sorry I wasn't of help i just use past and Future light cone for her and it she's doing really well so if you have it why don't you try it?

I didn't realize I was doing something right until this video. Kept my Fire MC and then healer in the first 2 slots because they were the ones I was sure I'd need as a 5-star less f2p when I started lol

Nah tingyun is like a magnet for attacks it doesn't work
You are not wrong. However, it's a bit more complex than that. You actually want your tank stand second position from the left and have your characters that u want to spam ultimate next to your tank.
For me, I have Gepard second position with Dan Heng, single dps, and Herta, multi dps, next to each other. I have my support, Asta at the most right. This way, Dan Heng and Herta can gain ultimate point with limited damage, while Gepard can continuously spam his ult and soak all the damages. At the same time, both Dan Heng and Herta do not need to continously use their skills to get their ult. Instead, Asta will spam her skills to get her ult and speed up everyone else so they can attack more to compensate for the points lost from not using a skill.
i use preservation and sometimes destruction male trailblazer, with dan heng, march, and bailu
Would it work the same way with Fu Xuan instead of Gepard ?
I knew this before and your positioning in video is exactly what i do, i usually place my tankiest units on the edge and go down in terms of how beefy they are

Not limited to the fire mc, you should definitely put anyone who has the highest taunt/aggro in your team at the edge. This goes for Tingyun, Yukong, Gepard, and many more. Place your ultimate spammer or anyone with the least energy regeneration rate next to them to get more energy.

another thing to note is that preservation and destruction characters have a higher taunt value meaning they have a higher chance of being hit so if you are placing anyone like gepard or maybe clara place them on the edge you would want then a higher hp character be near them as to make sure they wont get destroyed
Idk why but for some reason i always put the "atk. Team" to the left and the "support team" to the right... It's probably because it's soo much easier to switch and use technique points when the button is soo much closer to my hands...

Not like other DPS, jing yuan actually not that squishi, so its actually good idea to place him next to the tank, do this and its gonna help his energy regenaration
Cause every time you get hit you get some energy
My main team comp and placement is :
Gepard, Jing Yuan, Ting Yun, and Bailu.
This comp also work really well in Clara team, which is actually my second team, cause Cla.. i mean svarog really need to get hit to dish out the max damage,
My second team Comp and placement is :
Clara, March 7, Asta (i really need bronya), and Luocha
Just make sure the healer is the last slot so they are save to heal your team
Best part too is having Clara (if you have her) next to MC Preservation too 😈
it not only matter with character that have aggro skill since there is a secret aggro stat in the game that make that some character are more likable to be targeted, it usually work by path: hunt and erudition path have 3 aggro point, harmony, nihility and abundance have 4, destruction have 5, and preservation have 6, but it can also be modified by some talent, for exemple yanqinq is hunt so he have 3 point but he have a special talent that make him 60% less targetable, there are also lightcone that make character more targetable, these being: landau's choice, black forest cuckoo clock, and moment of victory, but there is still not one that reduce aggro, that's all i had to say, enjoy the game
Another tip, diff roles have diff chances to get atk by enemy
Me who mains FireMC as my dps :
Finally Bailu and Bronya ain't dying.
Me organize my teams depends on there path abundance at 3 because there athe very back then preservation at 4 then my 2 DPS or either 1 harmony & 1 DPS at the front or even a 1 nihility & 1DPS
I do the same with my Clara team. She stays on the far left. Also fun fact: March 7 will always start the fight shielding the furthest left character if everybody is full hp.
And next to the Tank put your healer, in my opinion they will live longer than most dps because they will have high HP. So your squishy dps can be left alone and do all the damage

it Preservation and you can use gepard for shield, the mc is taunt can be immune so gepard is better for shield and mc is better in shield break and taunt
I do put sometimes Stelle on 2nd slot or 3rd slot when I wanna get more ult charge if the enemy doesn't hit splash that hard
putting the fire mc next to my bailu saved my team more times than i can type (my qingque is kinda squishy and i don’t wanna anyone hitting my dan heng [read : best boy])
It’s funny how the tradition of always putting your tank/healer to the very last slot actually pays off
I've also learned to put huohuo on the edge also
I always put natasha next to my fire MC cause she's a tank HP wise and can take the aoe hits. Leaves room for the last two slots to be my dps.

Going to try this out in fight with Phantylia
I put Clara beside the Mc when the enemy attack my Mc it also deflect on my Clara so it use her counter pretty good combo
Kinda funny how Clara plays the opposite, you want her in the middle so she gets hit more frequently lol
If you've got March paired with her you can securely put her on the edge, since her shield draws attacks from the enemy
You dont have to put them all the way on the side. There are way more instances where you want them between your Main dps and other buffer/debuffer to help them get more energy for ultimates. So far edges isn't always the best. Maybe it is early game but late game pretty bad imo.
Now my trailblazer can final tank all the damage! Tysm for the tip

All taunt values go out the window the moment you put tingyun anywhere cuz she has 100% perma taunt

I thought that the enemy attack depending on what path the characters follow.
No wonder by harmony and abundance characters keep dying..... Tingyun is the exception though of course.
I actually do that but like.... they target my last character THEN target first character
nah no way he mixed up erudition (aoe) with preservation (tanks)
Me with topaz on the left and she barely ever gets hit
Put mc and Natasha on slot 2 or 3
i put my blade next to gepard
I alao put characters that can take damage unlike my dps or support next to the trailblazer incase any incoming damge hits two people and not one
why is the left side preferable?
This is the best and most dangerous tip to give to a clara main (aka me)
Clara is a great unit to plan around, and with more down the line clara will be a much more interesting character from a planning perspective

I did this by mistake since I used the starter team until the end of the first story and I could tell they where focusing more on the left side. Guess they thought about it since it’s MC - March (shield) - Dan Heng
My team setup could be 1 tank, healer (i placed it after the tank) and 2 dmg dealers [Jing Yuan, Dan, Bailu and Preservation mc] but im wondering if i could place the healer or Dan with Herta but after i got Tingyun, i changed my mind.

There isn't, the enemy either attacks the one that deals a lot of damage (as in high atk) or just straight up healer, yes in other turn based games there are placement buffs and etc, but in star rail? It's not really a thing I believe

Not necessarily, there are innate values that are used in relation to an rng targeting system by which u can manipulate via march 7th skill, clara skill, etc. And there are more on the way
