One thing you can buy to save you hours if not days trying to find bad hoses or leaks is a simple smoke tester for finding leaks in emissions systems. You just dial it down so the flow rate is small and start looking for the tell tale smoke trails.
Good informative video. I'll be tearing into the new to me 75 Vette's HVAC after I get the headlights working. Chevy really went crazy with vacuum back in the day, LOL.
The reason the heater control valve is restricted on Max AC is because on Max you want only cold air. The other settings allow you to add heat to control the temperature so it's not too cold.
Thank you for this very good video. I have a 1970 Pontiac Firebird F 400 and I have problems with my heater. Sometimes and most often it only blows cool air and very rarely hot. After seeing your video, I checked the part you are referring to and indeed it is not waterproof. So I bought a new one. After receiving the new part, I blew into it and unfortunately it was also leaking. I installed it on the heater control but still the same problem. The seller tells me that it is normal for it to leak. Do you think my problem really comes from this part?
I have a 1970 and I replaced the headlight and wiper door actuators with electric love it but I want to remove the vacuum lines. I have no A/C do I have to leave any of the lines connected? Please help. 😢
Great video. When you talk about the door that diverts air to the vents mine opens and closes all the way but when on bi level it barely moves from full vent direction. Should it open half way?
@@ProblemSolverGarage Hi had a question, why does it get so HOT in the car if the vehicle runs for any time longer than a short drive? It's like there is no way to stop the heat from getting into the car from the engine at all. It just seems to transfer seemlessly into the cabin.
Another great video but my only problem was why would you "have" to drill hole to mount the Heater Control Valve when the car originally came equipped with it? There should already be holes for it.
Dreaming about this car. Collect money to buy it. Feel it can be difficult problems with this and your video will help me. Let my like and comment will be a present for you and raise you up. You are great! God bless you! Thank you for your content!
Thanks, go into my channel on TH-cam and you can hit on a playlist, you can choose videos specifically on there if that’s what you mean, or just go on videos, it has all my videos, but under playlist that has just Corvette videos
I have 71 c3 with AC. I am replacing vacuum tubes but I can find a green (or any tube) running to the upper fresh actuary . All the diagram I find are with it. Any ideas?
Not acoment but on the vac susyem in the egine compartment there is a line that comes of the carburator on tje right side then it goes into a t a small line goes to the wiper area then where those it go.
Interesting but I do not understand at 9:10 one needs to modify the existing vacuum system to add a T. Why not simply replacing the vacuum pipes one by one? In other words, where was the original vacuum supply pipe going? Thanks
When you’ve finished watching the heater core video then watch this video, all these systems work together th-cam.com/video/kn7QLZDODrQ/w-d-xo.html Also vacuum episode, vacuum controls all your heater controls
@@ProblemSolverGarage I like how you explain all and every detail , I also have a problem with my AC clutch , it turns and stops when I turn on the ac and I have filled it with Freon and still the same
You are very good at instructing, as a teacher myself you explain in easy to understand terms, with a slight sense of humour. I’m an owner of a 65 fuelie, 69 air roadster and a C6/z51. Ohh, your phone camera work is excellent. Marty in Alberta Canada
This guy is awesome, he doesn’t such a good job explaining things
That’s my next task. Complete renewal of the vacuum system.
Good luck my friend thanks for watching
Makes a huge difference when this system is restored.
Yes 👍

That T was originally there.
@@ProblemSolverGarage Gotcha!
Is it normal that heat keeps blowing hot air on the floor vent ?
No lol
@@ProblemSolverGarage the switch is off , how do I solve this ?
Start by watching this video, Corvette C3, heater core, heater box, AC box, blower motor, fender heater box, (heater system fix)

Got a 69 and can’t get the passenger door open, can you help?
I will be working on the passenger window in the next few weeks but until then not too sure
🤙🏼
Are these things really necessary?
Yes if you want everything to work properly
were these on a 79 covette
Not sure which part you’re talking about
Thanks!
