Congratulations on getting to 20,000 subscribers. Appreciated the update. Never skimp on food if you can. Cheers!
I should be able to afford Malaysia because I don't drink alcohol. Great video again Taylor
😂
Me too due to medical reasons.
Alcohol and tobacco is tax-free in Langkawi.
Love it.
Love the rug and orange accents! Congrats on the 20k subscribers! 🎉
Thank you, Taylor, for sharing your monthly budget with us. I'm glad you don't deprive yourself of good food. I know it is costly, but the comfort and pleasure of eating out or buying the brands you enjoy is a quality of life issue. Also divide the amt on food by 30 days, then divide by 2 and that brings it to $18 per person/day which is excellent. This video was very enjoyable to watch. Have a fabulous weekend! P.S. love the orange accents 😊
Thank you so much 😊
Hey Taylor ☆ congrats 20K,,,,thanks for sharing this vlog with different ideas every time 🎉 have great weekend takecare & please explore ahead🍀☘️🌿🌴🌻

Thank you so much! 😊
I totally enjoyed this video!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🤗
The orange against the gray looks really nice!
Thank you Taylor, for another very interesting video especially the issue of health insurance and medication. I have commented a couple of times on your channel how much I love KL and would have liked to have taken advantage of the MM2H requirements that you are currently under. Unfortunately, the new requirements are just too much for me, but now that you have mentioned the health cover limitations, I am less envious of your situation. In my home country, medical cover is completely free and medications are heavily subsidised, with most being around $7 Australian dollars. It looks like for me, the occasional visit to Malaysia whilst maintaining my existing circumstances seems the best compromise.
Morning andrew
Thanks for the update - very interesting! I have about the same income and trimmed a few expenses last year so I could save for a long vacation. You might want to do the same. For example, if you cut the food budget by just 15%, that would save nearly $2000/year.
Thanks Linda! 🤗
Great video! Your descriptions mention something about eyes problem, perhaps give Optrex eye wash a try? Or try Vidisic (lubricant for eyes) for dry eyes. They're easy and available at most Msian pharmacies.
Thanks for the tip!
great stuff…thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it 🤗
Very good informative channel . Subscribed !
Welcome aboard!
Great video, love it
Glad you enjoyed it
I think you like more spacious for your house, where you are free to roam around with your beloved kitten. Neat, clean and nice decorative items. Thanks for your info about cost of living in Malaysia.
Great video…nice to know!
Another great info, regarding current cost or rough estimate how much thing cost...
Thanks for sharing Malaysia Story
Very informative video.
Glad it was helpful!
You should changen to an invertet aircond to save on electricity if you use a non inverter
😊Taylor!!! 😂 😆 you make my husband & I laugh. 🤭 You have such a wonderful way you present yourself. Great video as always with great information and a fun way of telling it! Thank you for sharing all this. I think some people forget... you don't have to share this personal information yet you do. 🎉
Thank you so much!! 😊
Thanks for this update and still a better deal and cheaper than florida.enjoy and good luck, see you soon
🎉just found your channel. What a lovely gentleman. Just subbed.
Thank you so much ☺️
Congrats on the 20K and you need to be a bigger channel. Have you thought about doing Tiktok for more exposure? I love your videos and how you break these prices down and it gives our family of 4 an idea of how expenses might be.
Thanks, I’m not doing this to be a huge TH-camr 😂
Always good to watch your video; thanks for the sharing ..and i love that humour peppered all over this episode....and yes...i plan to drop dead at 80 too:)))
Yes, to the pops of orange! It adds energy to the space...love the rug too.
Thanks for sharing.... and the updates. My aim is to retire in Malaysia.... ;-)
Nice place! Orange and black...you must be a secret San Francisco Giants fan-nicely done. Congrats on 20k subscribers by just being you.
What a charming man. I'm not big on subscribing to channels but could not stop myself from subscribing to yours. You have a wonderful life.
Awwwww ☺️
Yay a video that’s what I’m always thinking when you pop up on my TH-cam 💚🌴
Awwww so sweet. ☺️
Really like your apartment and the touches of orange! Congratulations on reaching 20K. I'm glad that you established yourself in Malaysia when the MM2H program terms allowed for that.
Me too! 😊
The orange in your interior makes it pop! Plus you can always change it up if you don’t like that colour later on!
Thanks! That’s what I thought. 🤗
Love your videos! New subscriber here
Thanks for subbing! 😌
@@andrewtaylor4558 your sweet personality and gentle voice is so comforting! Love binge watching your content!
Good video. next time you can include percent changes & also show MYR when you show USD. Thanks
Noted
Beautiful place
That shade of grey and that shade of orange are my colors. Bravo!
Apartment update coming soon! 🤗
Hi Taylor, will you be able to do an article on SarawakMM2H?
Thanks.
Elaine
I’ve talked about it before. It’s simple to research. 🤗
Good job Cupcake!...
Taylor I enjoyed your video. Thank you.
I am living in Phuket, thinking of moving to Malaysia as it seems to have no tax on foreign based income … unlike Thailand with their new tax 😮
Beautiful apt!
Thank you! ☺️
Hi Taylor ✌️😁
Beautiful place you have here.
Thank you so much 😊
You really got yourself an amazing deal with the apartment. That is so affordable, yet cozy and in good condition.
Yep
Thank you, Andrew, for yet another very informative, honest and insightful video. (BTW, I’m never sure if I’m using your first or last name, since you use “Taylor.” But here’s hoping either is fine!) 🙂 Having seen and appreciating this latest video, and the references to Penang, I was wondering if it would be possible to do a “comparison” video. Using the same budget list, and a sample apartment in Penang, what would be all the costs? It’s of interest in terms of weighing a move to KL against a move to Penang. Best wishes to you and for your happiness.
After living in both cities, everything is less expensive in Penang.
orange and yellow are historically popular colors combination with gray. so yes, good choice!
Andrew, I don't miss a video and you are absolutely adorable. And Hey! I'll be your houseboy! Is Percy there to prepare your breakfast, do your shopping, run your errand, serve your cocktails, take you to dinner? You're a young 70 with lots of living left to do. Preserve yourself and get in those 6-10,000 steps a day and swim those laps! I'll even be your drill sergeant if I have to. It's a wonderful life but that medical insurance concerns me. In time I may have to whisk you back to Greece or some other not entirely exotic locale. So happy to have found you. Best!
😂😂😂
How are you doing Taylor. Hopefully doing ok with your stay in Malaysia. Hope the people have been relatively good 🙏🏻
Alcohol is expensive in malaysia too.
Thank you so much for such an detailed and honest disclosure of expenses in Malaysia ! We are retired Canadians with fixed income, also think of moving to Malaysia. We never been there. Where should we start making the plan? Your advice would be greatly appreciated….!
Visit Penang first!
Hey Taylor! U look like a very friendly person
Thanks! I’m actually an introvert. 😂
Hi Taylor ,a very wonderful video ,thanks, but it is sad that people can not get health insurance after 70,is it only for expat or for local Malaysian also ? How can people live without health insurance after 70?thank you for all the informations you share😊
You just have to get the insurance before you turn 70
What’s on your coffee-table reading list at 2:13? Share in a future vid. They look quite interesting.
I like the orange accents to the unit's grey color scheme. Good on ya, mate! 😂
Thanks!
Be interested to know what yr health insurance policy you have is please and company ?
Great update !
15 year term with Prudential
@@andrewtaylor4558 I never knew there was a 15 year term health insurance, only heard of term life insurance.👍
I love your videos I’ve watched a lot of them! I’ve been working on figuring out my mom’s retirement and what she can afford. I’ve been thinking about how much better she could potentially live if she moved abroad. Disclaimer I’m not a financial advisor or expert in finances, but one of the ideas I have been looking into is selling her home and converting that money into an annuity, which would give her a fixed income for life. Just an idea, of course if she needed to come back to the US not owning a home would complicate things especially with the rental prices here in the US! Keep making great helpful videos!
Thank you Andrew, your video is more than useful. My goal is Seasonal stay in Malaysia, no more than 6 months every year. I am seeking for your advice on What Cities, Suburbs or Towns that have good air quality, and quiet inside and outside Selangor I should focus my research. All I need is High Speed internet connection. Your advice would be much appreciated, Tony
High speed internet not a problem, fiber optic everywhere!
Sadly, no good air quality in KL.
hi friend, loved this video till the end. tell me, why did you choose Malaysia over Thailand? Most of my acquaintances go Thailand as expats.
For a relationship ☺️
Hi Taylor. As usual I enjoyed this video. However, I have to wonder how you record your video. It's almost blinding when it plays...much brighter than other videos I see on TH-cam. I'll have to stop watching your channel until I get a pair of sunglasses. 😎
Taylor radiates! His videos are amazing. Get your sunglasses 😎
It depends on how much sun is shining in the window! 😂
Your apartment is beautiful you should be an interior designer!
It seemed Earlgrey appeared when you said grey 😅
I love your videos! Why have you chosen KL instead if Penang?
Relationship 🤗
We're coming in August and looking at areas to settle down in. What area would you recommend in KL? Btw love your apartment
Ampang, My Kiera, Bangsar, Desa ParkCity. All popular with expats
Good expenses review Taylor, I heard via Daily Express last week that for Sabah MM2H one will need to purchase a condo (RM600K) or Landed property (RM 1 million K) mmm not what I was expecting. We were informed full details at the end of this month, but this a dampener for me.
Not good news 😞
Congrats of the 20K subs. M'sians below 60 pay RM1 total for ALL meds maybe 3-4 times year. Over 60 all meds are free, as are blood tests & X-rays. But no supplements unless the doctor prescribes. Unbeatable anywhere in the world. Health insurance can only be bought before 65, then ends at 70. It might be possible to buy coverage with a high excess, beyond, for claims exceeding RM5,000 or whatever agreed to. Stay healthy !
Due to interest rate differential usd went up, ringgit dropped
Your budget is quite high, especially for food, but I think this video is great from an honesty standpoint. So many "Expat Cost" videos go for best-case/lowest-cost scenarios and can leave some people wildly unprepared. This is probably realistic for many people who find they can't adjust to eating at hawker centers and living in a more local style in general. Keep up the good videos!
yeah the cost of living videos don't include many things and seem to be the best case scenario.
Let’s meet
Next week 🤗
Comdo rental is still ok due to oversupply, so still a renters market. Australians in Sydney pay up to AU$800 a week for two room apartments(with no pool or gym access)
😮
Love the orange
