For those who have no sound it's because your stereo has a dsp amp in the back... that's a good place to start.

Hi! I bought this same exact radio for my 2006 X5 E53. After installing on my own, i noticed that bluetooth and sound wasn't working (other than the radio). I took it to get professionally diagnosed and they fixed it. the problem is the wire from the amp to bluetooth doesn't stay on since a new head unit is being used. if you cut that wire and cap it, and run the wire from the amp straight to the ignition, it fixes the problem. doesn't drain battery as it only used once car is started. reach out if you have any questions. Hi, my BMW is the 2005 X5 E53 with the tuner in the back boot. I have to buy the Aerpro BMW Quadlock Extention (APFH022) to connect the aftermarket head unit to the tuner in the back (underneath the spare tyre). However, while everything is working, there is no sound from the DSP. Not sure if you have any suggestion? Thanks

Check in the driver's rear wheel-well area to see if any water has leaked in on the amp if you have a sun/moon roof. I have a 2005 x5 & that's what happened to me. The amp is located in the driver's side panel in the trunk area. Water leaked in from the sunroof drain plug & shorted out the radio via the amp. If this happened to you, you can find a video on TH-cam to find/fix the leak first. Good luck
