- Yesterday we found ways to love our least favorite rides. Today we're going to make our favorite rides BETTER. But how!? They're our favorites for a reason. But I'm a realistic guy, and I think I can come up with a few ways to make even the Haunted Mansion better than the near perfect ride it already is. What about you Fresh Baked. Big thunder mountain should have like sound effects of bats in the cave and like in Indiana Jones with the blow darts, have wind hit you as if bats were flying by your head

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but i loveee being stopped on the haunted mansion. The longer the better and it’s always fun to be stuck in a new spot and admire a new part of the ride!!
Troy Nelson agree. We stopped just past Hattie. My wife was parked right in front of him and got to see his transformation over and over

Amen to that! Last time I was there, I was stuck in the ballroom scene for about 5 minutes and I hoped to be there longer but of course it started to move again...
Indiana Jones is my favorite ride, and it's nearly perfect, but I do wish they would replace the painted walls in the blowdart scene with actual statues or something. I love the effect of the darts whizzing past your head, but the hallway itself looks like it came out of a carnival funhouse.
Dude I've thought this ever since I was a kid. I so agree! Would also really enjoy a revamp of the giant cobra. But that's just me. I like it, but with the timing of the snake's lunge and the slowness of the animatronic I have a hard time feeling the urgency. I feel like even changing the programmed motions would work.
@@BrettVano I completely forgot about the cobra, but yeah, a faster and more realistic cobra would be nice. And while I'm nitpicking, maybe they could hire a better Harrison Ford impersonator to redo all of Indy's lines?

I like the idea of Madam Leoda summing the ghost and they actually appear and raise from the ground and hold hands or put people in the chairs around the table and have ghosts rise from the rear as she calls onto them and then make the instruments dance in the air to keep from scaring little children.
My favorite ride is Pirates and to make it better I would bring back the original Red head scene

Also during Mardi gras they should have new Orleans square decorated and maybe like a lil festival

In snow white, the dead trees they should light up the eyes red of the trees, in pirates, when you're leaving the dock. They should put animatronic crocodiles move near the boat and have an effect where you could see glowing gator eyes in the water staring at you.
Liz, don't you remember when Mickey and Donald rode the donkeys into the Grand Canyon? You wouldn't want to get rid of the sound bite that triggers such a happy memory!
That diorama is SO Disney. Taking a nature scene like Grand Canyon and morphing into a dinosaur filled land of danger reminds me so much of the 1960's Disney TV content growing up as a kid. The music of the Grand Canyon scene is from Ferde Grofé's Grand Canyon Suite, 3rd movement, "On The Trail", one of the most identifiable pieces of classical music and, thanks to Disney, burned into the brains of every rider of the Disneyland Railroad. The canyon scene was built in the late 50's with the dinosaurs added in '66. The amazing thing is, 60 years later, it's still a fun display enhanced with the more recent additions of the projected effects on the background wall.

As a kid I vividly remember when the lightning struck in the stretching room I grabbed a random person thinking it was my brother. Finding out later when the lights came on that it was a stranger. Good times hahaha
The dinos are my childhood if they ever get rid of them I'll be devastated!

also on the haunted mansion , no matter how many times i go on it the graveyard scene with ghosts that pop up give me a heart attack every time
I too love the DLRR. Though I also love the Grand Canyon and the Dinosaurs! My big beef and therefore improvement centers around the Narration and Music tracks on the DLRR. I would personally love it if they'd can the entire narration completely! It's noise pollution and totally disruptive. No music either! I would much prefer to hear the locomotive and the ambient sounds of the park. It would be SO much more appropriate and engaging. The conductors announcements re; safety and calling out stations is fine and expected. My favorite ride is Big Thunder Mountain Railway. I was so pleased to see in your last ride through that Disney has FINALLY got ALL of the details running at once in the Exploding Mine Tunnel scene! I think that's the first time it's ALL been working! Bravo Disney, bravo! Haunted Mansion, Temple of Doom and Pirates are my other favorite rides. Good meow, that's enough for now!

Critter country needs a southern style bar b q joint, ribs, chicken, fried chicken, country fried steak, po boys, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, potato salad, macaroni salad, corn bread, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie. Louisiana hot sauce and some of the best sauces of bbq. Iced peach teas. Lemonades. Man I'm making myself hungry

Splash Mountain is me and my daughters absolute favorite. I cant think of anything to make it better. It's a perfect ride
on the haunted mansion, there's one portrait that kind of looks like Phillip Hamilton and then changes to look more like Alexander Hamilton.
Was at Disneyland yesterday and the dinosaurs were covered up so maybe you're going to get your wish. And as for the "jungle out there" that would be perfect for some Jungle Book characters i.e. Mowgli, Baloo, Kaa, King Louie, Shere Khan and Bagheera.

I think that Constance is the only major thing I want to be changed. She could be better. On Pirates, I want a little more light. When they reopened, there was less light, and I think it’s just a little too dark. That’s what I can think of off the top of my head...
For the RR section between Main Street and New Orleans. Hide animals in the plants. Hide them well so you have to look carefully. Would be a great use for old animal props.
Like they moved the black panther back into the plants a bit! They should have an animatronic Panther on the rock preparing to leap at the train!
The Haunted Mansion is my favorite. A nice enhancement to the attraction would be to add the stairway scene from WDW's mansion in the room where you board the Doombuggies.
For a favorite ride, two things about Grizzly Peak. The first one being that half the time I go there it seems like it’s closed for maintenance and repair… So there is that saying... that distance makes the heart grow fonder … So maybe there is that aspect of it. Also, when it’s hot outside, I love the fact of it being a water ride and I get the opportunity to cool off a bit. And secondly, or thirdly, it is more of a community ride. You get to sit in a boat and face your friends and complete strangers, And share in this fun experience. A lot of rides, you might sit together but you sit in one or two rows all facing the same direction. There is not that sense of community that you get from Grizzly Peak. One of the great examples of that is once we had the opportunity to ride with a couple of Japanese tourists, maybe they were exchange students, I’m not sure. But we had the opportunity to ride the ride twice back to back. The second time as I was filming the ride, I captured some shots that they were in. I ended up showing them the pictures
afterwards, and they loved it! I shared those photos with them via AirDrop. And that is one of the aspects of Grizzly Peak that I enjoy a lot! ( Especially with strangers who have never ridden that ride before and do not know what to expect!)
HAUNTED MANSION: I one thing I have always felt needed improvement was the Music in a Graveyard at the end. It should just be more scary and not so jolly with the rockin' back beat feeling. Something in a minor key that still keeps the mood of chilly eerie macabre. I must say that one of my favorite things in all the park is the miniature holographic woman at the exit calling out "Hurry back.. hurry back... Be sure to bring your death certificate..." The holograms it has occurred to me may be the most advanced technology that Walt got apply to an attraction during his lifetime. Are they not still the only holograms in the park? Hey Madame Leota didn't used to fly around the room and was stationary on the center of the table giving her incantation. The musical instruments are there to fulfill her musical lines like "Give us a hint by ringing a bell" and "... music from regions beyond" etc. And Yes. THE DISNEYLAND R.R. is the most primary ride in the land. Every time I've been there the ritual was to first ride the entire circle around the park and then decide where to disembark depending where we wanted to go next! And Casey Jr. was a regular staple of mine not only because the idea was so whimsical but simply because it WAS a Train! I'm right with you there too! Up until Age 5 my whole world was About trains! Travel Town in Griffith Park, Engineer Bill's Cartoon Express on TV, and my 2 American Flyer Electric Trains at home! WOULD LOVE YOUR VLOG EVEN MORE IF YOU DUG UP A LITTLE HISTORY TO TELL US ABOUT ANY OF THE RIDES THAT YOU GO ON!
Hands down The Haunted Mansion is my favorite. When I went to Disney in Oct of 2016. I had the MOST FUN during Mickey's Halloween Party. I rode on Haunted Mansion 10 times in a row while chowing down on all the candy I collected from the Trick Or Treat trails. The cast members thought I was crazy. I was riding ALONE because I went on a Disney vacation Alone. I had such a sugar high. Plus I drank coffee before getting on Haunted Mansion. But I had the most fun EVER!!!!
I always wanted to do that in MK Space Mountain if I lived in Orlando. Just show up one day and ride non stop your favorite attraction.
Liz. If you don’t know, the music at the beginning is called The Grand Canyon Suite. The part you sang represents the donkeys as they travel down the canyon.
I like the haunted mansion its fun and i hate scary movies. Well i pretty much like all the rides but this is one of faves.
I have an improvement. I would like to see Mary Poppins fly across the square with only her umbrella basically a high powered drone painted to camouflage it and then come out into the streets and do a song and dance assisted by chimney cleaner guys. Disney call me...

Liz has good taste lol. I'm also a huge haunted mansion fan, It's been my favorite ride since I was little idk why I have always been obsessed with horror. Having the haunted mansion gives me a little bit of Halloween spirit and I love it!
If I could improve the Haunted Mansion, I would animate the portraits in the hallway between the stretch room and loading area like they do during the holiday version when Zero goes through the portraits.

On the topic of haunted mansion being too dark, I feel the same way. I don't remember it being so dark when I was a child, it seemed as though it was more lit up until about just recently. They need to turn the lights up at least %15 more because I literally can't see ANYTHING in there. Maybe I'm just getting old though 🤔 and yes, projection bride sucks...I love the classic one much better.
Hi Fresh Baked! My favorite attraction has always been Peter Pan's Flight because the movie is so close to my heart. One thing that might make it better is to fix the bumpy re-entry into the load station ☺

The dinosaurs were part of the Ford Pavilion from the 1964 World's Fair. Out of the four sponsored attractions WED built for the Fair (Small World, Great Moments with Lincoln, Carousel of Progress, and the Ford Pavillion) Ford was the only company that did not want to put their million dollar fee for their use of Disney's name into moving the attraction to Disneyland. The attraction was dismantled, and only the dinosaurs moved to the park. They are Disney history!

Making it better... Keeping it classic for one. Two, I would love to have another drop added to the ride midway. I get the current ones are for structural reasons, but as a kid, those were the best! A little more thrill.

For the Haunted Mansion, it would be fun to make the Doom Buggies where you can spin them to see what you want, instead of them being turned. Although I guess it's supposed to feel like a ghost is turning you. Aw heck, just add the spinning teacups to the ride!
I love the dinosaurs! They have been my favorite part of the train ride since I was a little girl. They must NEVER get rid of the dinosaurs! I agree that they don't make much sense in the ride as far as when you see them or where they are placed, but that's okay. Those dinos on the train ride are what sparked my interest in dinosaurs in general (which has carried through to this day). As a child, I was fascinated by them and couldn't read enough or learn enough about them -- all because of seeing the dino diorama.
Yeah! It's like one gets a surprise train ride through a museum diorama. And an (two) excellent one (two), at that! Mew!
I love The Haunted Mansion, but they need to add speakers outsider by the wheelchair ramp. I push my mom's wheelchair and I hate missing the start of the Ghost Host's narration.

My first Haunted Mansion experience was mixed emotions for me. I remember walking around Disneyland riding all the rides with my two sisters In 1991. Every time we would go past the haunted mansion we would say we will ride it later. Me and my older sister remember being really scared of it in1986 and wouldn’t ride it. So it was getting dusk out so we built up the courage to get in the que. Everyone in line were trying to scare us by saying there was real ghosts inside and the ghosts ride in the car with you if you ride by yourself. So I was getting Moreau’s more scared as we got closer. We got into the stretching room and thought it was amazing but really terrifying for us. We walked to the buggies really carefully but my sisters said I had to ride by myself. I was freaking out inside and decided I didn’t want to ride. I told the cast member please let me out. I don’t want to ride anymore. He asked how old I was. I told him eleven. He then called someone and told me to stay next to him. The next thing I knew, the prettiest blond girl came up to me and said she is going to ride with me and I had nothing to worry about. She took my hand and told me her name was Crystal. We went on the ride and then she walked me outside. My two sisters kept asking if she was Alice from wonderland. She than said her real name was Kim Davis and her mom plays Madame Leota She said her dad also worked with Walt back in the day. Then she gave me a kiss on my cheek and gave me a blue ribbon from her hair. Then she went back inside the exit of the mansion because her mom was waiting to take her to eat dinner at club 33. I saw her about two or three hours later in the park and asked her if she would ride the skyway with me. She said she would but her mom and other people with her mom had to go to a meeting with the bosses of Disney. That’s when I recognized and met the guy who hosted Wonderful World of Disney.

The only way I can think of improving HM would be to reduce the Nightmare overlay to Christmastime only!

Some animatronic animals etc. might be nice in that section of the DLRR between Main Street and NOS....other than that, I think all that foliage is quite attractive and peaceful.
It's time to redo Tomorrowland...and include a brand-new People Mover!

To improve the classic version of the Haunted Mansion I would have Disney build “ The Museum of the Weird “ in the cue .
Improve BTMRR by installing better effects in the first cave you go through. The bats on the strings are weak. Improve Indy by adding lights and better effects in the dart room. They made it dark because they ran out of money when Baxter was making it. Improve Haunted mansion by putting a cast member back into the knight costume. Also adding new touches here and there throughout the ride. Ghoulish easter eggs, if you will.
Interesting thoughts regarding dinosaurs and the Grand Canyon on the rail ride… Maybe it is something that needs to be reconsidered for this era. It seems that it would have fit perfectly in the 50s and 60s. They had the house of tomorrow, and they were into the old west, Yeah Cowboys and such. So, the future in the past were of interest back when Disneyland was being built.
I don’t know what would go good in that part of the rail ride, but maybe something new should be considered.Although, that would have to be done carefully, as people tend to be sentimental about some of the older Disney attractions.

Haunted Mansion's loading dock should be more like the grand hallway at Phantom Manor. The plain black walls are just weird.
The music in the Grand Canyon scene is "the Grand Canyon Suite" by Ferde Grofe, composed 1929. It was used in a Disney short film in 1958, "Grand Canyon", which won an Oscar for Best Short Subject in 1959. Worth a listen on it's own. There's some history there, and a direct connection to Walt Disney himself. About to get on a plane to come and see it in person, tomorrow morning!

Aww yeah!! Big Thunder is my favorite too. Haunted Mansion is my favorite non-thrill ride, so I gotta say, great taste #freshbaked
The best way to improve Haunted Mansion would be to come up with a better solution for loading wheelchair and mobility scooter riders that does not involve stopping the entire ride.
ThunderMesaStudio this. Almost every time I ride HM, it comes to a stop. Sometimes more than once. Quite annoying. I know the ride allows disabled guests to ride it, but it ruins the experience when the buggies stop all the time.
There are times where we've stopped at the ballroom scene and it's given me more time to look around.
I too like the stopping. It gives one time to see details that one normally doesn't have a chance to savor!

DO A TENDER RIDE ON THE RAILROAD! Go to Main Street and ask the conductors. Its worth the wait.

I'm having a hard time deciding my favorite ride. Which would make the the saddest to see go? Pirates and Haunted Mansion are both it, I think.
I wonder if bringing back some effects for the Indiana Jones ride would be possible. I know there were the falling rocks and the foggy track at the beginning, but I'm not sure the pyrotechnics that Mara causes were for promotional videos or if they were an actual thing. It would be cool to see that happen if they did that or add in something similar. Maybe make the EMV movement a bit rougher?
The snake should definitely be fixed through. :P

Favorite ride has to be POTC; love Redd now also Hank (I finally figured out why you call him that because he look like the octopus in 'Finding Dory') As far as changing it; give back story on how POTC and HH tied in together. Maybe do a cross over some how.
The chick pirate ruins the whole historical look to the ride, they should have been auctioning slaves cause technically pirates did do that. But in today's society God forbid that happen. If not slaves at least trading spices, or rum. I think it's cool they brought back the hat pirate vendor

Imagine the ONLY thing you see while on the RR would be that stretch of nothing before New Orleans Square. That's what the RR is like in WDW. No magic at all.
When they do the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay they could add some Beatlejuice references in the museum of the weird .
I loved the original Pirates when they first had the Auction scene, the woman hiding in the barrel and finally the Pirates chasing the women. It was a very fun ride. Slowly, they removed the chase scene. They substituted Jack Sparrow in the barrel and removed the Auctioning of the women and the more lovely Redhead. The fun is gone. Pirates is boring.
Both of my favorites have similar problems, although I'm not sure how it would be fixed. Haunted Mansion seems to stop or slow down a lot, and Pirates always gets backed up towards the end. Still love them, though!
