I have to try watching it again. I always hated it as a little kid because it's so different from the Nutcracker ballet and my autistic brain couldn't handle it being "wrong" 😂.
Maybe I'll like it now that I'm older. I really want to like it because I love the nutcracker, ballet, Christmas, etc
I suggest you remove those old batteries from your dolls, since the liquid may ruin the mechanism and so the doll. Also, my favourite dolls are Clara and Odette. 💚

It just amazes me that the 12 Dancing Princesses one still works 14 years later
I recently received a bunch of second hand dolls and it was surprising when I saw some of them in this video! I had no idea they were from the movies, despite watching them years ago. I might try and restore them now, since they're in a really bad condition

This was a fun review! My goal in life is to collect all the African American versions of the Barbie movie dolls. And a correction to one of the things you mentioned: Barbie Mermaidia is actually the first sequel to a Barbie movie, Fairytopia spawned a whole trilogy with Mariposa being the spin-off.
Favorite Barbie movies are always Island Princess and Nutcracker! But Rapunzel, Mariposa, and Rock N Royals are very closely behind. My favorite doll is Odette (who I always wanted but I never got as a kid), Annika, and the first Mariposa.

Ok but the sight of all barbie movie dolls from 2001 to 2015 looks honestly amazing
Even though I don’t like some of the movie dolls from those years they are just still so colorful and neat and prettier looking than the recent barbie movie doll
At this point I lost hope for mattel but it’s always fun to look back at their legacy and what some of the previous designers created that later became one of the iconic Barbie dolls ever produced

This brings back a lot of memories because I had most of these dolls when I was little in the late 2000s to early 2010s.
Princess and the Pauper, Island Princess, and Swan Lake are my favorite Barbie movies.

Imo the Secret Door doll is the worst, it looks so similar to the Dreamtopia dolls, the whole movie had awful colors, especially in the fairytale world. I would've much preferred a basic doll of Alexa in her yellow floral dress at the beginning of the film, it was pretty cute.
It would also be really nice if Barbie had a Halloween-themed movie based off of some traditional spooky tales, set in a historical period like most fairytales are, but unfortunately they probably won't ever do that because they have to market for Dreamhouse Adventures. 😔

What a throwback, the swanlake Barbie was my favourite! I remember taking her with me to bed and using the wings as flashlight while reading under my bedcovers. 😂
I also had the castle and while it was rather simple compared to some other Barbie Castles I liked it a lot, because it fit for any type of play style really. I occasionally even used it as a normal house for my modern Barbies and Bratz.

First movie i saw- Barbie and the Rockers, the 80's movies you mentioned. grew up watching it. My favourite is Barbie in the Nutcracker. Gorgeous movie, my favourite ballet. Id love for them to do a Snow Queen movie. I think if they did the movie properly and made a doll with how pretty and extravagant you can be with a snow queen/winter theme, that would be stunning.
I doubt they'll do a film on that story these days unfortunately.

I personally prefer The Nutcracker Prince animated movie from the early 90s. They actually include a great backstory of the Nutcracker. It's on TH-cam too.
Watching this video was like revisiting my childhood.. I had most of the older dolls, I truly wish I kept hold of them!
I love it so much! It deserves a million of views, I love all the Barbie Movies from 2001 up to early 2010’s, it’s just really amazing and beautiful,I didn’t like movies released from 2015 up to 2020. For me, Barbie lost her charm and being so magical in this new generation, the dolls quality are also cheapen too.

The only doll I owned was the barbie diaries doll but I did own Rapunzel, 12 dancing princesses, magic of the rainbow, mermaidia, thumbalina, and Christmas Carol on DVD.

Princess and the Pauper is my favorite! I also have a soft spot for The Three Musketeers and the Magic of Pegasus, and watch A Christmas Carol every year! I love Christmas Carol adaptations and that's one of the better ones out there, to be honest. I was doing my first work from home job around the time they came out, and I watched the videos while working as an editor. They made for pleasant content that I could watch while still focusing on comma placement and citations lol.

The dolls of the first 9 years are the best! Such a quality difference between the Musketeer dolls (2009) and the Fashion Fairytale ones (2010). My favourite movies are Rapunzel, Swan Lake & Princess and the Pauper. Thank you for sharing this with us!

Seeing Barbie of Swan Lake's wings snap up took me right back! I got her for xmas in 2003 and loved her so much, even though I didn't really like the movie lol. I'd love to get her again. I really want the Christmas Carol Barbie as well and I agree with you that it's one of the most watchable Barbie movies. I want Fashion Fairytale, though I haven't seen the movie, and Princess Charm School, for which I have seen and love the movie. I just love the whole princess school concept even though the plot was super predictable. I also want Barbie and the Pink Shoes and want to see the movie because I love ballet. I really want to see Starlight Adventure and get the doll. Finally I have seen and love Video Game Hero and would love to have her, I love the pseudo-anime style

I never had any of the movie dolls, so it's cool to see what they all looked like. Closest thing I ever got was a talking stuffed Serafina plush. She had a tiara that lit up when she spoke.
You should definitely watch the movies you've missed out on. Maybe you can review each movie with each doll :P
these barbie’s are so pretty! My favorites are the older movies specifically Diamond castle, magic of the pegasus.. and swan lake is breath-takingly beautiful. I love the doll for it.
Now as a kid I was SOOO OBSESSED with that mermaidia one!! Omg i really thought that was the peak of beauty and innovation! And it really is gorgeous.

My favourite doll would have to be the Odette one; I sadly never owned her but I was OBSESSED with those light-up wings when I was little. Barbie of Swan Lake might well be my favourite Barbie movie, although I also used to love Rapunzel, The Nutcracker and the Princess and the Pauper (names abbreviated).
I recently started working in a soft matter lab and we have these little particles I need to keep track of and I named them after barbie movies. So far I have Fairytopia, Mermadia, and Magic of the Rainbow (the fairytopia trilogy and princess and the pauper have a special place in my heart)
I think the Barbie Mariposa and the fairy princess doll was my favourite. How it looks like a plane ball gown type dress but then it spirals out into sparkling butterfly fairy wings in just so cool, magical and spectacular!
Island princess was one of my favorite movies. Loved the music, and the story had moments that made me cry.
Swan Lake was always my favorite, I remember watching all the movies repeatedly constantly when I was little and I used to watch them with my teenage brother, in which he actually liked them himself 😊 so many memories ❤️
I'd love to see Barbie as a Time Traveler that travels back in time for instance, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s until to the present years, you know. :)7

As a young child I remember getting the Odette doll with the real feather outfit and it was my absolute favourite. It disappeared after a move 😢

Hello Joey if you are planning to watch Barbie as the island princess then you should also try and watch life is strange 2. I know it's not a Barbie movie but the storyline of both movies go pretty well together, and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy them both 💕

I'm currently in the process of collecting the barbies from my favorite movies! It's been pretty difficult not gonna lie. I've started with the doll from Barbie in the Pink Shoes because I LOVE that movie! Definitely a good one from the newer movies. I had both dolls from Princess and the Pauper growing up but I gave them away because my mom convinced me I didn't need them anymore

growing up barbie in a mermaid tale is my absolute favorite barbie movie. i had the doll when i was younger and she was my favorite along with my diamond castle dolls. i still have them somewhere and i really want to find them.

I had almost all of these dolls except for a few. The Barbie movies were such a huge part of my childhood. I remember using Elina, Mariposa, and Corinne as heroes. And I adore Island Princess, it's an amazing movie. I notice that I don't have any of the dolls after Barbie and a Fairy Secret, and that's where I basically grew up and lost interest in the Barbie movies. But I do remember every Barbie before that one. I am a doll collector and think of getting the dolls for the movies I missed. Your video makes me so happy, bringing me back to my childhood! (Also I didn't even know Mariposa had a sequel. The younger me would have loved that. Wish it came around while I was still young 😢)
Love it! My little sister had every single character from Barbie Swan Lake, all the little Kelly characters, the Ken, Barbie, everyone! I have never felt so jealous or so short changed from Santa before 😅 i think our mum donated them all to a daycare
I had the Barbie Diamond Castle, Mariposa, Princess and the Pauper, and Swan Lake dolls growing up. And the movies are so nostalgic as well. It's just a shame to see the downgrade in clothing detail and quality as the years go on though. The molded on tops/tights are simply unforgivable.
