Not a bad song on here. My favorite is when Zetro sings those long verses without stopping

Gary Holt is severely underrated that many fail to realize that he belongs to the higher echelons of thrash rhythm playing...probably up there with Hetfield and Mustaine

I bought that record when it came out. I played it to death. Being an L.A. latino thrasher, it was awesome to listen to Lowrider thrashe version. I went to the warehouse record store to get my copy signed. It was during the headbangers ball tour. Steve, you're the only one of the entire band that showed up for that signing. Anthrax acted like bunch of pricks that were in a bad mood. Helloween was nice. You( steve)were very cool as well. As a kid you never forget these things.

I met Joey Belladonna about ten years ago and he was the nicest guy I could possibly imagine. That said, I’ve heard similar stories about certain other members that sound like what you said. So cool you met Zetro back in the day! Yes, those few minutes can make a long lasting impression.

That Riot was in Sante Fe Zet an hour away from my Hometown in New Mexico i actually worked in the "new' facility right next to it doing Correction's we used to tour the old Prison that shit is still creepy as hell, you can still see chiseled out marks on the concrete where inmates used shovels to decapitate other inmates, and another silhouette of burn marks shaped like a human like they do when they find a body, where they literaly burned another inmate alive...crazy ass shit man. One more thing i freakin love how Zet sang that song! Vicious! Classic Zetro and Exo!

THAT record saved my life! I was in the army back then and listened to Fabulous Disaster on my crappy walkman during many loaded marches and at night before falling asleep. Apart from that, I think this record deserves an award for heaviest guitar sound up to date and being an inspiration for many (unfortunately shitty) groove metal bands. Whatever, what EXODUS did with this record was ahead of its time and they never got the recognition that they should have.

I gather there isn't enough financial interest by Exodus's prior labels to issue definitive high quality remasters with bunches of bonus tracks/demos ? Maybe there isn't a lot of unused material/demos available, but i'd be all over picking up all of the early catalog if that ever happened. I know you don't answer questions in the comments section Zet but perhaps when you guys do a "Viewer Comments" video at some point, you could address this question. I would love to hear if this has been discussed seriously. This is the age of the "expanded reissues/remasters" as we all know !

    • @metaldams78
      @metaldams78 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

“This is the age of the "expanded reissues/remasters" as we all know !“ - To the point of ridiculousness at times. There’s a six (!) CD version of Whitesnake’s Slip of the Tongue making the rounds.
But yeah, I agree with you that expanded Exodus would be awesome and I’d buy it. A cool bonus for Fabulous Disaster would be the complete show that made the Good Friendly Violent Fun album. Zetro era DVD concert footage would also be a great bonus.

I loved the longer metal songs back in the 80's, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Exodus and even Slayer from time to time did it perfectly! I never complain about a song that's over 5 minutes, especially from these classic metal bands because one day they will not be around anymore, and we will be wishing they were still putting out songs, even if they are past the 5 minute mark!

FD: timeless classic! Full stop! Still killing everything today, even the sound, the production don't sound outdated. Even though it was recorded back in the 80s. And that says a lot, because a lot of 80s productions were useless.
My friends and I still have this thing going on when we join up together and have a couple of beers somebody suddenly goes "The prison system..." imitating that voice and everybody is joining in "...inherently unjust..." and so on...

Very insightful. I remember picking the CD up in mid February ´89, along with Bathory’s Blood... and Destruction’s live album. Looking forward to the making of Impact, which has got to be my favourite Exodus record.

I think it would be great if they Remastered It!

Walter Morgan I could really live with the original sound. It had this really crunchy guitar sound. One of the reasons why I keep going back to it

If they get back the rights, nuclear blast are likely to re-release it, same as they did with the 2 Anthrax records (sound +stomp) after getting the whole thing remastered at temple of disharmony. A very German thing. High roller recs, century media, nuclear blast seem to be going there for their rereleases

Do you remember if the restaurant with the Cajun band was Prejeans? It has a huge alligator inside right when you walk in.

This album fucking blows out the flesh, I heard the bonus track overdose on a youtube copy with lyrics. I was more into AC/DC with Brian Johnston, 83 was a rocking ass year with Flick of the switch, Piece of Mind, Kill em all, Show no Mercy and there were the L.A. hair bands with Shout at the Devil and Metal Health.

Fabolous Disaster is such a fucking awesome, awesome thrash album 😎🤘 While I do love Bonded, I tend to find myself listening more to this then that, just because of the quality and the brutality of it,but then again I love both of them equally as much, just depends on what much I am in really. Has one of my favorite guitar tones on it aswell, heavy and aggressive as shieeeet, just the way I like it 😎 Favorite song being the title track, my 2nd favorite Exodus ever, after A Lesson in Violence 🤘

This is my favorite Exodus album and the first thrash metal album that i was ever exposed to. I put it in and i was like omg what is this. I was kind of scared I had never heard anything like it. Then I played it over and over again. I was in love. I was very young like 7 or 8... maybe even 6.... My Mom’s boyfriend left behind like a briefcase full of cassette tapes and plastic crates full of old records. So out of the tapes my favorites were Exodus, Whiplash, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax. My gramma did not care for the music but let me play it as loud as I wanted....

I believe this www.discogs.com/Exodus-Bonded-By-Thrash/release/11252745 is the 1989 Fillmore show you are talking about. Part of it ended up on "Good Friendly Violent Fun". ..Should be officially released.
Re-Animator might have been the support band in Stockholm not Acid Reign.

I had Good Friendly Violent Fun on cassette years ago. I’m with you man, would love to see that re-released. If it’s the complete show, even better.
