Eric and the guys were so cool to us and treated us good! We were all hanging out at the stone all day and we got to see testament soundcheck! This interview is Gold, for me. I grew up in the Bay, had friends that formed bands at 15, loved Kiss, practicing, then getting shut down by Moms and the neighbors, etc., etc., etc. So cool.

I really relate with what Eric said about portrait of a "nun" that his mom had that scared him. My grandmother also had a painting of Jesus that freaked me out. And just like that portrait of a "nun" that Eric referred to, this portrait of Jesus stared at you. I also hated a portrait of Mona Lisa for same reason. When I first saw an album cover of Black Sabbath's debut album, the woman in the cover also reminded me of those two portraits that I hated. It freaked me out.
I cannot fucking wait to hear this, testament is truly a tale of perseverance. When i was in high school mid 90s, people were brainwashed or something. Nobody listened to metal. My friends loved smashing pumpkins and all that garbage. Anyways, It’s just good to see Eric get accolades and praise and hopefully some money.

Back in 2001 there was a metal festival in Asbury Park New Jersey called the New Jersey Metal meltdown. I ran into Eric in the men's room and he was taking a leak at the urinal next to mine. I'm mistakenly asked if he was Louie from testament and he got really pissed and cursed at me and walked away. No pun intended.
@ Well Gary can do BOTH! Lee Altus is a complimentary piece. Agree to disagree bruh they're both great bands but Gary Holt is the GODFATHER of Bay Area Thrash Guitarists no question.
Gary & Eric are Very similar in the fact that they both write all most all of the Albums they put out. I'd say Eric is a better Rhythm player than Gary live, and has some of the coolest evil background vocals, but Gary holds his own & his leads are off the hook(some of the very best in the genre), and his use of his Whammy Bar, are Legendary & Ground Breaking For Thrash Metal. Both were Bay Area Hall of Famers!

@@MINOTAURunOfficial Zetro should give a brief description of people when he name-drops - many viewers aren't familiar with every Bay Area thrash musician, especially ones from the lesser known bands. I grew up listening to 80's thrash metal and reading metal magazines and fanzines, so if I don't know who quite a few of of the people he's referring are, then metal fans who grew up in later generations definitely wouldn't.
