I found a two pack on a popular US eTailer for $16 each, that was the best I could find. Another eTailer had 64gb SD cards from a reputable brand for $3.50 each. I'm kinda excited. Subscribed and ready to tinker with them when they arrive. Thanks for your video.
@@MashTec something I'd like to figure out, and one of the facebook groups I'm part of had sorta the same question- is Fast Forward/Speed up supported? I tried reading through the documentation looking specifically for that feature, and couldn't find it- so I'm assuming Fast Forward/Speed up is not supported. But maybe I'm just looking the wrong way.
Unfortunately not, at least i haven‘t found any way to trigger that either. Theoretically it can be supported since this is a RetroArch feature, but the access to to them is very limited as you can see with a look into the menu (press SELECT + START). The only options they made accessible through the menu. Would be a great feature especially for players of RPG‘s to fast forward over bigger text dialogs.
I just bought the console 5 days ago and it should arrive between today and tomorrow, it looks very good!! Could you try to make the console's main menu go a little more fluid?
Hi dude, this seems like a technical limitation. First the upper half if the display gets updated, then the lower half. The depending on the theme you have installed this effect can be more significant or being cloaked by the theme you choose. Performance wise i don‘t see much room for improvement here. So your theme selections is the best tip i can give you here.
I have it. The dpad on mine is not good and Tetris is almost unplayable due to that. But I am crazy about all the games included for the price. I mainly wanted it for GB and GBC.
@@JB-js4xi Hi JB, actually a great device for GB and GBC. Too sad your dpad is not responding well :( maybe a production problem. Are you still in warranty? Maybe you can get a replacement.

Hi PinkiePie, that‘s true. I used the stuff i had lying around here :) just so for people to get the idea of how to get this thing gets connected to a TV.
Hi, just wanna ask if the sf2000 will perform better in gba or are they basically the same? I can get both for almost the same price ($11) and I can't decide which to get since i like the form factor of the gb300, but i heard that the sf2000 has better performance. Was the difference in performance really that much? I'll mostly just gonna play gba titles, thanks!
@@esumii5457 Hi esumii, actually both handhelds aren‘t performing too good on GBA. Still my personal feeling is that the SF2000 performs a little better than the GB300. If you want to decide between the two, go for the SF2000. The screen alone makes a big difference + you have a analog joystick. That would be my recommendation for you.
SF2000 is better, I think the firmware enables overclocking or frameskip or both and it makes certain games run better. For Pokemon and other slower titles, either will be fine (just remember to make save states, in game saves don't work!). However, if you want to play heavy action games like Sonic Advance, you'll want something more powerful. Maybe look into the Powkiddy V90, it somehow runs GBA very well despite being worse than the GB300/SF2000 at SNES. The V90 can be had for under $30 USD from Aliexpress and has a GBA SP formfactor to boot.
@@nunyabusiness896 If i was going to spend 20-30 bucks for a Powkiddy V90 would just get R36s. Not a huge fan of Powkiddy V90 battery right over the soc is main reason never picked one up.
Hi. I’ve just installed your OS and, while it looks great and is much easier to navigate, none of the MAME games will load. Everything else works really well. Any suggestions?
@@MashTec make for a good 2 minute video too, if it works (try sega cd bios 1.10 and a chd+cue or .bin track 1+cue files for sega cd isos) then try pc cd
That performance is great. If you like to get an impression of it, take a look here on one of my recent videos where i showcased a few ported games. Since the SF2000 and the GB300 run at the same SOC, you can compare the performance of both. Take a look here: th-cam.com/video/Y2AI1q1Zp4s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=C0ZH7osNiEKOYreO
I think he meant Euro or other currency. I got a GB300 for $12 shipped. Not perfect, but incredible at that price. My biggest complaint is it doesn't have the overclocking and/or frameskip the SF2000 has for SNES, so games run slow rather than just frameskipping and staying on pace. It's tolerable for most games, but the top 10% most demanding games will be frustratingly and noticeably slow or unplayable.

Hey there, I saw this video a week ago and decided to purchase four as stocking stuffers for Xmas. I bought a 5 pack of PNY 32GB Elite Class 10 U1 microSDHC Flash Memory Card, followed your steps on copying the SD card and it doesn't boot. I tried it on all 5 with FAT32 as the format. No go. So, I would warn people away from that particular brand and type of MicroSD card. Are there any particular MicroSD cards that you would recommend that you found to easily be working? Thanks!
@@sicurr1 Hi dude, i‘m sorry to hear. Actually PNY is not a bad brand. I wouldn‘t expect that. Maybe some fake cards? What did you pay? I hope there was nothing going wrong with the update process at your side. It‘s very unusual that none of the 5 cards work.
@@MashTec I tried booting before doing any updates. I just formatted to FAT32, copied the contents over and tried to boot like that just in case. I‘m just a little busy atm. Working on a promised follow-up video and another review video (beside job and family :)), but i will report here as soon i can figure it out.
Mine arrived today. It is quite a frustrating little thing, I really wish there were more options for aspect ratios and stuff. This would be a perfect little 8 bit emulator for Gameboy games if it allowed more tinkering. I will keep it handy and cross my fingers fow better CFW.
Hi dude, i got you covered ;) i‘m already working on a follow up video addressing customizations for this device. If you install Multicore like shown in my video it enables options to adapt many things incl. changing the aspect ratio. I‘m currently wrapping everything up into a video to give it to your hands soon. This thing can give more than you might expect ;)
@@MashTec Brilliant. I look forward to it!
I found a two pack on a popular US eTailer for $16 each, that was the best I could find. Another eTailer had 64gb SD cards from a reputable brand for $3.50 each. I'm kinda excited. Subscribed and ready to tinker with them when they arrive. Thanks for your video.
Hey dude, great deals! And welcome to the community. Nice to have you on board ;)
Would be a great feature especially for players of RPG‘s to fast forward over bigger text dialogs.
hoping for neogeo pocket / color and wonderswan to be added too
Hi Paul, for wonderswan i‘ve seen a core being available for Multicore. So maybe it can get activated for the device in the near future.
11:10 even the original hardware struggles in that scene of Megaman X.
Oh really? Wow, i wasn‘t aware of that 😮 then i guess it‘s better than i thought. So maybe SNES deserves obe more star in my rating and i should have given it a 4/5. Thanks for the feedback dude.
I enjoyed this video.
and I Subscribed. 👍✨🎮
Welcome dude, glad to have you on board for the next videos ;)
Nice video man, thank you for sharing this... by the way can include MAME and ported games in your next video? i want to see how it performs.
Hi Jan, yea sorry i forgot to add these to the gameplay part. I can tell you that MEME runs pretty well for the games i played so far. With ports i‘m experimenting a bit to get the ones from my SF2000 Multicore installation over to the GB300. I may wrap it into a short on my channel to show it to you.
@@MashTec THANKS man..! that would be great..!
@@MashTec have you try the external controller for it..? can you play 2players with it..? i saw some GB300 on sale online that has free wired controller, i wonder how it works on key mapping features of this device
@@JanIrvinRamos Hi Jan, i don‘t have the one with the controller, but i know it works fine and yes, you can play multiplayer games with it (e.g. saw a guys playing Contra with 2 players).
If you can get it for the same price as the regular one without the Controllers grab it ;) since you can hook it to a TV you could use it as a retro gaming console.
@@MashTec oh, thanks thats a great info, cant find any vids on YT about this one, thanks man..
If it can't even run all the SNES and GBA games properly, how does it fare with arcade systems like the CPS series?
De nuevo mil gracias!!! excelente video muy bien explicado
Thank you my friend! I‘m glad you like it :)
You font need av to scart, you can get a good av to hdmi adapter
Hi PinkiePie, that‘s true. I used the stuff i had lying around here :) just so for people to get the idea of how to get this thing gets connected to a TV.
Hi, just wanna ask if the sf2000 will perform better in gba or are they basically the same? I can get both for almost the same price ($11) and I can't decide which to get since i like the form factor of the gb300, but i heard that the sf2000 has better performance. Was the difference in performance really that much? I'll mostly just gonna play gba titles, thanks!
@@esumii5457 Hi esumii,
actually both handhelds aren‘t performing too good on GBA.
Thanks for the recommendations! Seems like it would be best to get the sf2000. Ig I'll pick it then 😊
@@esumii5457 you‘re welcome!
@@nunyabusiness896 If i was going to spend 20-30 bucks for a Powkiddy V90 would just get R36s. Not a huge fan of Powkiddy V90 battery right over the soc is main reason never picked one up.
Does this play all the Pokémon games on it well enough?
Hi. I’ve just installed your OS and, while it looks great and is much easier to navigate, none of the MAME games will load. Everything else works really well.
Any suggestions?
14:21 pc engine cd too?
Sorry dude, just PC Engine / Turbrografx 16
@MashTec I'm sure adding cd bios Rom and say Dracula x Rom you'll get cd games to work like adding sega cd bios and iso
@ actually a good idea. It may work as long as Multicore provides a core for it.
@MashTec indeed works on my v90 like that
@@MashTec make for a good 2 minute video too, if it works (try sega cd bios 1.10 and a chd+cue or .bin track 1+cue files for sega cd isos) then try pc cd

Thanks mate 🙌
Having issues with the GB300 tool
mame games and ported games such as doom performance?
That performance is great. If you like to get an impression of it, take a look here on one of my recent videos where i showcased a few ported games. Since the SF2000 and the GB300 run at the same SOC, you can compare the performance of both.
Take a look here: th-cam.com/video/Y2AI1q1Zp4s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=C0ZH7osNiEKOYreO
Where do you see it for $7? Looks like $12 to $18 everywhere.
Hi dude, i got mine from AliExpress. The prices change from time to time. Wait a little and see if it gets on sale somewhere in a shop. I also used one of the default coupon codes the reduced the shop price by another 2 bucks.
the crossmix 1.2.1 folder
👀
Haha…very attentive! 👌🏻
Yes, i got my TrimUI Pro lying around here. I‘m experimenting with it, so maybe i can come up with a video for it as well. It‘s another great device for the price. Big screen, decent speed, premium buttons. All that in a PS Vita design for only $59.
But i got so much more in the queue. I‘d live to make a video about my favorite of 2024 the RG35xx SP as well :) so much cool stuff, so less time.
@@MashTec i have the smart pro is amazing
As mentioned in the video, i recommend cards from Samsung or Sandisk. Now at black friday you can get them a bit cheaper than usual (e.g. from Amazon). I never had any problems with these brands. I hope there was nothing going wrong with the update process at your side. It‘s very unusual that none of the 5 cards work.
@@MashTec I tried booting before doing any updates. I just formatted to FAT32, copied the contents over and tried to boot like that just in case. None of that worked, it was around $20 for a 5 pack, so maybe they were fakes or something. I got it on Amazon and you never truly know.
I'll focus on Samsung or Sandisk. Something was telling me to spend the extra $10 for a 4 pack of Sandisk, but I saw a 5 pack for $10 less. ooph, lol.
@ Yea, the temptation was to high :) i would have done the same and give it a try. Still i think these are fakes. Even for 32GB cards this is a very cheap price ($4 for each). Give it a try with a Samsung or Sandisk. If it still fails come back to me. We‘ll try to get this fixed.
Haha. These is great!
Bruh that is impressive for 7 bucks
Can you share some pics in your community tab of the battery department and type of the battery? Would be great!
Biggest flaw of the SF 2000 is imo the battery.
@@twiggofscotland4063 Hi dude, sure i can add some pics. I will add them for both, the SF2000 and the GB300.
@@MashTecHi man, I somehow missed the 0:38 mark of the video so no pictures needed. Sorry for being stupid. Does it actually come with the AV cable in the box? Cheers!
No worries my friend :) but seems like you missed a lot more if the video: I also showcased the content of the box.
Take a look at 1:15 of the video where i show what comes with the handheld.
0.2m USB-c charging cable and a 1m A/V cable to hook it on a TV or Monitor. I also showed how to connect it as well as some gameplay via TV-out ;) enjoy!
I got it for 3.50 dollar plus free shipping its a bargain also can you try megaman battle network 5 or 6 . Its lagging so much
Hi Rusher, i just tested it and yes it lags as you leave the house and enter a bigger part of the outside world. It‘s still playable and the sound still runs fine, but you can feel a significant drop of FPS. As i mentioned in the video, this is not a great system for GBA. If you prefer playing GBA games this might not be the perfect fit for you.
@MashTec thank you! I thought multicore improved the game run speed and sorts but its fine still playable though especially pokemon
@ You‘re welcome. Sorry i don‘t hd better news for you.
i dont understand if mame works..
Please tell me where to get one of these for $7 I want it

take a look at AliExpress (that‘s where i got mine from for $7). Just search for "GB300". From time to time the prices drop, than you can catch one.
