It's a bit tragic but also funny that a lot of these questions would go away if H-3 Nozzlenose just gets buffed in all the right ways, because that would then be the solid midline Cooler option that you would want.
As an H-3 main, I don’t know what could be done to fix the main outside of giving it the damage increase to 2 shot like in Splatoon 1 and 2. It also definitely needs mobility buffs, because its strafe speed is not good. It sucks too because it’s hard for me to play it at a casual level. Point sensor isn’t great for it Imo, but we’ve seen other weapons with point sensor, like Glooga or Machine, get around their sub with a good special. So why can’t H-3 do the same?
As an Edit main, I’m completely baffled this kit exists Edit with crab was my dream kit, I didn’t care what sub it got I just wanted crab. I didn’t expect them to actually give it crab, not to mention the splat bomb which was an even bigger surprise than the crab. I would’ve been fine with point sensor or beacons, hell, I would’ve been fine with SPRINKLER. But no, the dev finally obtained their cooking license and decided to give this thing its god aggro kit.
Such a mood. I've been waiting since launch to get a Crab Tank Splatling at all. Took almost 2 years of manifesting for it to finally happen... Even crazier we finally got a Splat Bomb Splatling back since vHydra in S1. The kit is a dream kit for most weapons in the game, and they gave it to Edit of all things. It already was the most fun Splatling in the game for me and getting a kit that goes this hard is literally a years-long dream come true. The devs beat the fraud allegations with this alone as far as I'm concerned. I'm unironically never complaining about this game again when the stars aligned and made this kit real.
@@FinnishArsonist 100% agreed. There isn't a single splatling with wall in this game, and that makes no sense to me because the sub works so well with the weapon class!
10:00 exactly!! the kit system would work fine if this was ALWAYs the case, but no, we get half baked kits or kits that work concept wise but are too weak balance wise, and unless theres buffs to wave or stamp the wellstringer looks like its headed in that direction. so sad because that weapon actually looks pretty cool 😭💀
Edit player here. I am super hyped for this kit, Crab is exactly what I wanted on Edit Nouveau, so I’m happy with the special. The sub on the other hand, even after watching the video, I’m still not the biggest fan of Splat Bomb on Edit. My main issue is that it has the S1 VHydra problem to a lesser extent: it’s only really going to use it as a get off me tool since the long charge time doesn’t let it capitalize on the distance pressure &/or combo potential as much as other weapons. Now this isn’t as big of a problem since Edit’s more ink efficient & has a somewhat faster charge time than Hydra, but if Splat Bomb is going to be put on a splatling, I’d much prefer it go to a 3rd Mini. Its charge time is fast, it’s even more ink efficient, & it needs the poking range a bomb can provide more than Edit does. I really wish that they put Beacon on this kit, it would’ve brought back a playstyle similar to S2 BPN on a different but similar weapon which we didn’t get on S3 BPN since it got Mine. At the end of the day, this is a good kit which I’ll play & enjoy a lot because I love Edit & this kit does seem like it’ll be fun, but I’d still prefer we got the kit I was hoping for.
Yeah I agree, I feel like their have been a lot of kits in the past that could have really used a splat bomb, but didn't get one. Idk why they finally gave it to edit of all options, but I think it will be alright.
@@chunkymonkey7983 True, Edit Nouveau will be in a really good spot balance wise, which makes me happy. I’d rather be slightly disappointed by a kit that will still be good & fun than highly disappointed by a bad & unfun kit.
If Splat Charger gets to have a Get Off Me bomb, I'm perfectly fine with Edit getting the same. It's probably the Splatling that needs the longest setup time to be its most efficient behind Hydra, and unlike Hydra it has to do so at front/midline positions where it's at higher risk of getting rushed down. Maybe Wall would've made more sense for both Edit and Crab mains, but I'm personally tired of seeing combos that I'd like to use held back by defensive utility subs in this game. Splat Bomb will be a good anti-sniper tool as well, a quick option for a Splatling user to displace or even kill backliners that are hawking their every move. This will just be a very flexible aggro kit in general I feel, I think I'll have fun with it
I still think it's so weird that we've had 4 splat bomb post launch kits total and we got 2 of them in the very last set of 2nd kits. It's been so spaced out and then suddenly 2 at once. Still though not gonna complain at getting a splat bomb on a S3 debuting weapon finally lol, even if it's a weird choice (Edit and Reeflux Deco should've traded subs maybe)
@@unl3ash3d95 I'd agree but tbh torpedo is only as good as your ability to capitalise on it. Edit is a good main but I don’t know if I can say it could capitalise on a torpedo super perfectly because of the charge time. On most other weapons I'd say the difference in torp and splat bomb would be negligible but in this case I think the splat bomb is better
Really no beakon on a splatling? It’s one of the best weapon classes to have it. Unless hydra was stacked with sub saver in the trailer but I doubt it.
I wonder if there's a weapon or strat that could enable double Heavy Edit... But hey, there will almost certainly be someone experimenting with that team comp!
Edit can actually jump while under the effects of cooler or a main of intensify action. It helps with pushing down ramps or over short cover. So this thing can attack places you’d normally expect to be safe from splatlings.
It is extremely unlikely that Dousers get line marker because I’m sure someone would have noticed it in the trailer. Burst bomb is more stealthy but I’m sure someone would have noticed a marker at least somewhere.
In a no bazzoka set, would edit + Vsplash or new crab edit + zap be better then? because now you get lethal bombs (especially for something like rainmaker or tower imo) instead of curling and burst.
Honestly as far as S3 is concerned Edit probably has the best kit luck of any weapon. 2 kits with bombs and syngergistic top tier specials that open up team comps is genuinely crazy.

it's midline at best as *squiffer* outranges it, the cooler kit just prioritizes living more so you can get as many as you can, so it fits the anchor role for an aggressive comp
