He didn't have realistic expectations as a starter Should have been more focused on being a defensive with an occasional dunk he figured out where he fit better when he won a championship as a role player with his new body. .Nash never had another chance but got to spend more time with his kids when he retired.
I remember it like it was yesterday everyone was thinking they would be the team to beat and were better than miami. miami had a big 3. that nets team was supposed to have a big 5 of Lopez, KG, Pierce, Joe Johnson and Deron Williams. Easily the best starting 5 in the league and they would also have Jason Terry coming off the bench. However father time is undefeated and even of you were playing really good just one season ago the next you can he too old to be good and that what happened to the nets.
You forgot about the 1976-77 Philadelphia 76ers. This is almost certainly the most talented team (compared to their league at the time) in NBA history. Just look at the roster that included all of these stars: Julius (Dr. J) Erving, World B Free, Darryl Dawkins, George McGinnis, (Jelly Bean) Joe Bryant, Henry Bibby, Doug Collins, Mike Dunleavy, Caldwell Jones, Harvey Catchings and Steve Mix. That's 11 players that could be starters on every other team at the time. Still, they lost to the Portland Trailblazers in 6 games. Portland had Bill Walton, Lionel Hollins, Maurice Lucas and Dave Twardzik as their key players. But Portland played as a team and Philadelphia played like a bunch of individual stars. Given today's free agency, it's extremely doubtful that any team can assemble a team with that much talent again. Maybe this guy didn't go that far back in time, but it's hard to argue against the array of talent Philadelphia had that year.
92-93 Seattle Supersonics belong on this list, they had prime Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp, and brought in Detlaf Shrempf and Kendall Gill after having the best record and securing the first seed losing to 8th seed nuggets
Much harder to defend now, and we still have great defense. Just because it isn’t as physical, don’t mean there aren’t great defenders out there. A lot more about endurance, recognizing plays, positioning, etc
The warriors weren’t a let down. They got screwed by the nba. If the league really cared about Draymond getting suspended, he would’ve missed a game in the western conference finals when he kicked Adams twice. They only suspended him because the cavs were healthy and still losing to the warriors.
Actually, Draymond was one technical away from being suspended from playing in the next game before the finals. So no, they wouldn't have suspended him in the WCF. Instead of assuming, read up on it.
@@Bubs-_- no. You don’t understand. Forget Draymond being 1 tech away in the finals. In 2012, Ron Artest wasn’t close to any suspension limit at the end of the regular season when he elbowed Harden. They just slapped him with a suspension right then and there. He missed all the rest of the regular season and all 7 games of the first round. Draymond kicked adams TWICE in the WCF when the warriors were down 3-1. Both times were flagrant 2 worthy. But he never got suspended for rough play. The nba doesn’t operate where you can foul as hard as possible but you won’t be suspended until you reach a limit.. they reserve the right to suspend you if the foul is too excessive. So tell me how does it look when the league ignores adams getting kicked violently and the OKC fans calling for green’s suspension but the league ignored it since the 73-9 warriors were down 3-1 but then suspend Draymond for a leg slap after Lebron purposely antagonized Draymond by stepping over him when the warriors were UP 3-1?? At no point in time was that leg slap from Draymond tech worthy. The nba just did that because they needed more drama in the finals. The series was literally over after game 4. The healthy cavs only mustered up one good game out of the first four. They got out played by Draymond and the warriors’ bench. Steph, Klay and Barnes were god awful in that series. Having the 2016 finals end like that would’ve been the biggest let down ever since everybody said all the cavs needed was to get healthy to make it a competitive finals. When their health became a non factor, the league stepped in with that suspension. That and bad calls against the warriors in game 6 turned the whole series around and lebron and Kyrie took advantage.
If you wanna use that excuse, which is not entirely true, than I can say that LeBron played bad on purpose in 2011 because the league wanted Dirk to get a title and the Mavs being an underdog made VEGAS alot of money. STFU 😂
Can't agree with 1. Nash, Kobe, and Howard Lakers Nobody really believed that team was a legit threat to a title but casual and media narratives. Real fans knew it would be a bust. 2. The Barkley led Suns. I wouldn't call not beating the bulls and losing to the greatest player besides MJ in the 90s in Kakeem a big disappointment, just unfortunate. 4. That washed Hakeem big 3 in Houston was NOT a superteam, lmfao...idk why people say that. Pippen was still good, but he definitely wasn't anything really close to Bulls Pippen. What about the stacked '94 Sonics team that lost to the barely making the playoffs Nuggets back in the day? That was actually the first time a 8 seed beat a 1. Not the Baron Davis Warriors... Sonics won the first 2 games, then got outhustled the rest of the series in one of the few times I've seen full court pressure make a difference in the NBA

You missed one of the biggest let downs of all. The stacked and packed roster that should have been a given for a title on paper; the early 2000s Blazers
As a Spurs fan, it pains me to say this but the 2015-16 and 2016-17 editions were two of the most disappointing seasons I've ever experienced. In the former, we were doing so well, keeping pace with Golden State for the win record and it was looking like we had a date with the Dubs in the conference finals but then the goddamn Thunder happened and we lost. The next year, did well again and we finally got the Golden State/San Antonio conference final we were denied a year ago and then Zaza Pachulia injured Kawhi and the rest is history. While I don't think we would've won in 2016, I truly believe that if Kawhi never got hurt in 2017, we would have six titles right now.

The 'Melo, Paul George and Westbrook Thunder were a real bust. They're beloved teams but the Kidd/Carter/Jefferson Nets and the Nash/Stoudemire/Shaq Suns were kinda put together for the purpose of getting the ring because they looked to be just 1 piece away, the latter missed the playoffs their only full season together and the Nets only ever made it to the 2nd round. I might go real old school and say the Wilt/Jerry West/Elgin Baylor Lakers too. Wilt is probably the 2nd greatest player to pick up a basketball ans West and Baylor are all time greats but they didn't go all the way until Baylor retired.
76-77 Sixers lost to Portland in the Finals.
the lakers will add up again in this list.
Imagine that Lakers team with the point guard they should of had and a healthy Dwight Maybe they still make this list but not as high I'm sure.
Why is not Pau Gasol in that photo? The 2013 Lakers were made of 4 Hall of Fame players, a "Big 4": Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash and Dwight Howard.
2018-2019 Celtics
it was the 2nd time the suns went in the final nonstop
You need to create a new one. I think this current is the biggest disappointment.
This needa be updated to include the Nets😂
You really can't use teams that mostly stayed together the next year because they usually win it next time like the heat. I get the warriors because they added another star but still.
That Miami team did go on to win back to back titles tho
That new intro got me hard af!!!!
Honest to god I seriously think I just came...
...to my senses 😶😂🎅
