    I love that you published this on Good friday! Any yarn/thread that’s spun on a Good friday is said to have magical protective properties 🧶🧶🧶 just knit/sew/weave a garment with it and it should bring good luck - a beautiful “old wife’s tale” from Bohemia, where mothers and wives gave shirts woven with “the Good Friday Thread” to their sons and husbands when they were going to war.

    I love that you are multifaceted. It’s more interesting that way. I loved this video. You meant spinning look so easy. Have a wonderful weekend.

    Because you're not controlling the pressure on your feed hand (closest to you), the draw hand is pulling variable amounts of fibre, causing clumpy wool. If that's what you want, fine: I hand-comb my tops into really loose, floofy rollags, making the feed much easier: I generally spin 12-15 fibres into the strand.

    How funny! I posted a spinning video a little while back. I have a friend with a Lendrum, such a lovely wheel! I like the foot action! Great spinning!!

      Yes!! I enjoyed your spinning video, Kate, and absolutely love the hot pink shawl you made with it. Also, a little jealous of your drum carder. It must be so much fun! 😄

    Perfect timing for this! I've just bought my first wheel. A preloved Kromski symphony from a lady who used to teach spinning in the shetlands. She is beautiful,my yarn is not ! Full of worms 😂 but I like that too. I've been told that once you are proficient , it becomes difficult to produce yarn with worms, so I'm embracing them 😊

      Lucky!! Congrats on your new spinning friend. 😍 Hah, and yes, embrace the worms! They add personality and character to handspun, for sure! Likewise, the more my spinning improved, the harder I found it to spin thicker yarns. Need to work on that. 😂 Happy spinning!

    You make it look easy! I recently had a spinning lesson but I was terribly uncoordinated & couldn’t get the hang of it. Not giving up though!

    • @Voolenvine
      @Voolenvine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes!! Stick with it. I felt incredibly uncoordinated at first, too. It takes a little while to build muscle memory. Keep practicing and it will eventually click 😄
