Gamepass wouldve been great except they tried to take the unsubscribe button off. I'm on laptop but it happened on Xbox consoles as well. I will never trust Microsoft again. It's anti consumer.
@@davidhujik3422 Sony is more anti-consumer, their line of TV's lovingly hold a reputation for holding a "Sony Tax" they are the first electronics company to accelerate their asking price. The last time they did anything pro-consumer was PS1 and that was just to get their foot in the door of the game space.

I own the series s and one thing that I see people never talk about is the quick resume feature that xbox has. The fact that I can pick up where I left off without needing to save is pretty nice (especially if ai have an unfortunate problem occur such as my wifi or power going out). It's honestly one of the best features on xbox in my opinion.

I have game pass on PC the variety is a little under whelming BUT for the amount you get it's still a good deal. I just got bored of its contents recently and it's so slow to add many worthwhile games the past few months.

From someone who loves his 2013 Xbox One, the Series X is EXACTLY what I wanted for this gen. Same controller with better changes? Yes please. Beautiful console design? Fantastic. Amazing graphics, performance and quick resume? Nice! Same great UI? Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Backwards compatability and smart delivery? Take my money, Xbox!

I guess controllers, design, UI are rather subjective. Everyone has their own taste. But for me it comes down to games. I play all types of adventures, sandboxes and RPGs. Nothing more. And in that aspect xbox has nothing to offer. Of course, there are multiplatform games, but there is nothing to competr with Uncharted, Tsushima, inFamous, God of War etc. Sadly, at this moment Microsoft does not offer anything like that. But I truly hope it will change with incoming Starfield and maybe some more that type of games so we have better competition between both.
@@damiankarol5675 Even though I lean more towards Xbox, I can admit that PS has a better line-up of exclusives, the Spider Man games being the stars for me. Though I must disagree with the point about Xbox being short of games; there are so many amazing games on the system, including 360 and OG Xbox games. Game Pass is the MVP of Xbox at the moment, it's amazing. Plus, the Series X has smart delivery, which gives you the upgraded version of your already owned games for free.
@@ToraVanguard2004 I agree there are a lot of games which are easily accesible due to gamepass and that's great if you have few users of console (family) who have different taste for games. But for people like me who adore all the, so called, third person shooter, there is literally nothing. Which is sad, becasue more games like that for xbox would make a better competiting and better games in general.

I bought the series X as my first console, switched to a console after 2 decades of pc gaming. Wanted to keep things simple for my gaming as PC always needs some upkeep. The higher Graphics power in XSX and GamePass were my reasons to choose XSX.
Yeah I also feel the same way. The simplicity of consoles is great. PC gaming is also very expensive. I don't want to pay thousands of dollars for a good build.

One cannot deny the fact that you get better performance and quality on PC, but the fact of the matter is that you need to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on hardware to be able to achieve that performance. Yes consoles are not as powerful as high end PCs, but not everyone is able to drop $2000 on a GPU alone.
I bought a Series S. I know it's technically not as good. I'm not sure anything can beat it value wise. The console is relatively cheap, and gamepass makes it an amazing experience
Samee, I’m coming from 1080hd ultra 60-120fpc Pc any and everything. And I gotta say, I’m playing my series s all day and haven’t touched the Pc. Not gonna lie though it’s about 90% from game pass, and quick resume. Even though quick resume isn’t perfect it’s still amazing
What happens if you have a internet outage though can you still play all those games I've went through that i know if you have the disc you can still play
Bobby Strunk you can still play your digital games offline on the series S. You must start each game once you've downloaded (then simply exit the game) it to be able to play offline. If you only download the game and not started it then when offline your console will ask you to connect to verify ownership. I've tested this myself. MS may change this down the road but that's my experience as of 10/2021

I too own a PS5 and Series X. Had always been a PlayStation guy, dating back as far as the PS1 days. Game Pass however is incredible. I've probably been playing the X more than the PS5 lately, something I never imagined I would do.
IKR? Isn't Ultimate great (Gold, GP, and EA P for the price of $15 a month...not cheap but so worth it)!
I have both, but play the PS5 more. I do like game pass, but most of my friends are on PS. I also prefer the PS controllers and Xbox still has the worst menus I have ever seen.

The other thing is you buy Xbox game keys online from other sellers at a lot cheaper Price than Disc like you can for PC whereas Sony ps5 you do not have that option at places like CD keys etc just ps top up card only at fill price

I also have the two consoles and I definitely think it comes down to people preferences and what they enjoy the most. But both consoles are pretty good for what they do, and by the way this video is amazing.

One suggestion - you should only hold the controller with your back two fingers (pinky and ring finger). Your index and pointer finger should be on trigger and front button, respectively, for faster response times with those buttons. That's partly why the Xbox controller feels short in your hands, it was designed with the expectation players are holding it with two fingers, not three. It's also the original Japanese controller from the original Xbox, which was deliberately designed for smaller hands.
I also own both and the Series X has become my daily driver for all things entertainment. The PS has some incredible games - but the Gamepass subscription is a game changer - its like having Netflix but for gaming. Being able to get new games on day one is awesome.

I have both consoles too, PS5 for exclusives and ps+ games but xbox its my main console for daily use because it fits me better and works better than PS5 in my case. Also backwards compatibility and 1440p supports wins.

I have owned both in the past though right now I only have a Series X that I was lucky enough to get day one. I have a question about your game storage comparisons. The X Box games you showed were particularly optimized to run on the series X/S machines, so they are coded differently from the vanilla version. You didn't say if the PS5 games were optimized. I don't know about your X Box headphones issues. You had to buy them separately so went with Turtle Beach Stealth 700 {I play a lot of FPS games} and have no problem with connectivity or static. Haptic feedback is overrated. I even turn off the rumble on my X Box controllers. Use your ring and little fingers to hold the controller. I use the Elite Controller and use my middle finger for the 4 switched on the back for the a/b/x/y buttons so I don't have to take my thumb off the stick.

Nothing wrong with this channel being an out and proud PlayStation user and supporter. It's kind of nice that a channel doesn't try to portray itself as a 50/50 inpartial judge to all sides of Video Games. Being that the majority of TH-cam Video Game channels often do that, when their allegence couldn't be more obvious then if it were tattooed somewhere on their bodies.

I have the series X, and the wireless headset. There aren't any connection or sound issues for me whatsoever, as well as flawless connection to my phone at the same time. I think which ever system you enjoy the most, or owning both if possible is the way to go.
That is definitely the way to go, do what is best for YOU. And I’m glad to hear that you aren’t having any issues with your headset, I’m going to have to continue to troubleshoot.
@@MrTekSuggest I don't have any connection or sound issues with my Series X headset either. Sounds good to me. I have to say Dolby Vision on my C1 with Series X makes a difference. You can actually see more highlight details on the supported games.

On Series X the Metro Exodus Ray Tracing is very impressive.
This game does not get enough praise. it is visually stunning and has the best implementation of UI/inventory i have ever experienced.

Game pass is a game changer, I tried games that would Never buy and actually enjoy them.
2 absolutely simple things though that could be an improvement:
- Record party audio when you record play
- Better battery indicator for the controller
I never thought of playing Dead Cells but Game Pass made play it out if curiousity. 100 hours of game time now
Playstation has the same thing, everyone's taste is different but I enjoyed playstation now more

I've seen people saying the problem with buzzing sounds is related to the headsets microphone.
I've seen ppl turning off the auto voice recognition feature while others have put tinfoil around the sheath of the mic.
Not suggesting these are good workarounds, but it would identify if you're having the same issue.
Awesome review with the kind of objective viewpoints I’d expect. I picked up an XsX at launch and have been enjoying the titles I’ve missed out on for the past 7-8 years on GamePass. Will definitely get a PS5 when they release a pro version and there’s enough exclusives ready to play.

Dont want to pop ur bubble pal but did you not go into settings on the xbox and enable speaker muting when headset connected, it is there, under general/volume and audio output/additional options/mute speaker when headset attached, tick the box and all done

Did you updated the headset to the latest drivers? I have the Xbox wireless headset since last Christmas and I haven't had those connection problems you mention ever. Maybe with an update that was fixed.
And now we can say that there's an option for the TV audio to mute when you connect your headset (wired or wireless).

@@Adipod47 For me it was Final Fantasy. FF16 is going to be PS and PC only so that pretty much clinches it for me. I keep hearing good things about the XSX I like the features and design a bit better than the PS5, except for the controller which I think is better on the PS5.

I have both consoles. I play strictly Playstation exclusives and everything else on Xbox. The controller's haptic feedback is really good and I hope Microsoft one day will implement this nifty feature in their future controllers. The haptic feedback is much more detailed and accurate rumbling effects. The VRR of the Xbox series X is also very helpful for those with higher end TVs like the CX and C1.

I actually do not hope they add that or at least make it a separate controller as it makes it take way more power for stuff I don’t really need nor care about, I wish lights made it that much more cool but I just have an RGB controller that works amazing
@@cloudedxmarbles6284 One positive thing about the Xbox controllers is being able to remove the batteries and replace them easily. I've upgraded the batteries in my controllers with a bigger power bank and they last much longer. But yeah, PS5 controller runs out very quickly.
@@gringoamigo8146 that and yeah seems Moe wired ones available, I got a powera spectra, then the one that’s like the elite Xbox controller with 4 paddles on it, I know most people prefer wired, but I don’t sit ultra far in my room and I also use it with my computer so it benefits quite a bit, but yeah I wish you could swap out the ps5 batteries so it would mean less charging lol I mean I love playing the exclusives on it but I really do notice the battery life having both side by side

I just managed to get my Series X about a month ago BUT SKIP THAT BRO THIS QUALITY IS AMAZING! I genuinely thought you were a well known youtuber but oh boy was I wrong. You are severely underrated and deserve FAR more credit. Returnal is natively rendered at only 1080p, then uses temporal upsampling to get to 1440p and then it uses checkerboard rendering to get to 4K - this comes at the cost of image quality. And it still runs only at 60fps with some dips to mid-to-low 50s. I think that this game does not belong to this list...
@@deductivevariance3497 Returnal is most definitely among the best looking games on the 9th gen consoles and one of the few that's only available on the 9th generation consoles as most of them are cross gen.
@@originalityisdead.9513 Returnal is definitely not unmatched in graphical fidelity, ray tracing, draw distance etc... As upsampling + checkerboarding from 1080p leaves it's mark on image quality, it is also not one of the best looking ones.
If you wanna argue your own personal opinion based on your personal preference, it is your prerogative. But it does not make that list because of these factors.

I like that it doesn't mute my external sound source. My son will come in while I'm gaming and want to watch. And he can still hear the game while I use the headset.
There’s an option for this in settings, people in party’s hated the echo but I’ve often got someone with me. I used to change the settings now I just hold volume a few seconds when alone and avoid party’s when not.
I like this extensive review. Both consoles are true next gen upgrades. I'll choose Xbox this time. GamePass, form factor and ease of use. Will get a slim down version of PS5 later down the line for the single player exclusives alone.

Love my Series X for its backwards compatibility. I can still play all my favorites from years ago all on 1 system. Plus GamePass has given the option to try so many games I wouldn't have bought, and I've found some that I really like!

Unfortunately the backwards comp is not as good as I expected.
Resident Evil 5 from the 360 doesn't run on the series x for example.
From my old og xbox library there are only max payne 2, Black, Hunter Reckoning and The Punisher. Would have loved to play Otogi, The Suffering, Knights of the Temple, Unreal 2 and many more again but no.

I had a PS4 last generation and decided I would move to Series X after seeing quick resume and game pass in action. I cannot justify spending 50-70 on games anymore. Gamepass is a game changer for me.

Kraken compression is something that doesn’t get talked about often. When the PS5 first got announced everyone was up in arms about how small the drive it but in reality is you can store as many games on it as you can a 1tb series X and also having the flexibility of choosing M2 drives on the open market instead of having a proprietary format (Sony leaned their lessons from the Vita’s proprietary memory cards

It sucks that my country(Malaysia) makes it impossible to get a hold of a retail priced ps5, and while it is possible to get a series X, the pricing for the subscription is 4 times more expensive compared to ps plus(which is why we always buy Sony products/fairer regional pricing 😆) anyways really appreciate that you used cam footage of your LG oled, makes me more confident to get one now 😃 cheers!

I have had both the consoles at the same time, then had to sell them to put food on my table. I'm personally a PC person myself but my wife seems to really enjoy the Xbox series x and that's strange to me cause she use to be all about play station. Oh, and the video quality is amazing! Great work!
For Xbox, they are finally adding the option to have the speaker/TV output muted automatically when you use a headset. People in certain insider rings are currently testing it, so maybe it will make it into the December update. I always felt like that was a strange omission, likewise, not being able to calibrate the mic gain, which you can do on the PlayStation.
Since you made the video, MS announced 500GB and 2TB versions of the expansion cards from Seagate, which I'm sure you've seen. I really want a 2TB one, but I'm not sure I'm willing to drop $400 on one!
I've owned a Series X since launch and I only really have a few gripes with it: -
1. It would be nice if the dashboard was displayed in HDR. I have a 4K monitor with HDMI 2.1 that's a perfect match for the console, but when you switch between a game and the dashboard or vice versa, there's a black screen for a couple of seconds while the monitor switches modes. It would be cool if it was in HDR mode all the time.
2. Even though I use a wired headset that plugs into the controller, I still sometimes get the static that you talked about getting with your wireless headset. Some days it's perfect. Other days it breaks up a lot and is quite annoying. I dunno why it's so inconsistent, given that nothing changes about my equipment or the position of it on a day to day basis.
3. I wish they had done more with the controller. Adding gyro aiming would have been nice. Phil Spencer has said that he likes the DualSense and thinks there's things MS should do with a future Xbox controller, so hopefully they will release something that's more of a leap forward at some point.
Game Pass Ultimate has been awesome for me, not just cos I get to play lots of games without buying them, but because I know that most of my Xbox friends have Ultimate too, so I know if I suggest a game for us to play together, they're not gonna say "oh, I don't have that" or "it looks OK, but I don't wanna buy it" or whatever. I have played quite a few games that I wouldn't have bought, some of which I've really loved, such as What Remains of Edith Finch and The Artful Escape. Given that you can get up to 3 years of Ultimate for the same price as Gold by stacking up Gold then paying for 1 month of Ultimate to convert it over, plus you can top it up with MS Rewards points for free, the value is incredible.

I really hope youre right on them adding the headset feature soon. It is one thing that never made ANY sense to me whatsoever. Especially when you play with friends using different TV setups you always get unwanted noise from the TV sets (mine for instance loves to unmute itself when I switch games...).
That auto-mute feature cant come soon enough
@@metroid2 They did actually add it in December. Go to Settings - General - Volume & audio output - Additional options - then check the box next to "Mute speaker when headset attached" and you'll be good to go.

I recommend playing all of the Gears of war games if you haven't before. And the graphics on the XSX version of Gears 5 is a early showcase especially with HDR.

I own both consoles but end up playing my Series X more because of the massive amount of games that are available on game pass. Other than Horizon, GoW, FF7 remake, I don't generally play my PS5. With that said however, I'm a PC gamer and collector of shinny expensive toys so I own a switch and most other notable consoles as well.
You dont own any of them and the trade off is more expensive for playing the same games on a subscription.

I have the PS5 and I love Screen Share and share play. You didn't even touch on that. Two totally dope features.
That’s because unless you have very good internet on both ends, it’s almost unusable. And PS4 had it as well.
When it works, it’s amazing. But it doesn’t work consistently all the time.
My PC and Oculus Quest 2 has both screen share to other PC's, a wireless monitor or even to my phone. Even my phone itself can project to a screen to a smart TV since 3-4 years now. This feature is really not new.

Nice video! Just one little nitpick; VRR has nothing to do with high framerates (like 120 fps). It's just a way of syncing your rendered frames with the refresh rate of your monitor, resulting in a smoother experience and less screen tearing for example.

Plus headset mute feature is in the Audio settings, that feature was there at the time of your Video. I'm not sure if you knew yet, how to get to it.

I play my XBSX on the LG OLED C1 which is the best gaming TV out currently, the quality is absolutely stunning. Gaming at 60-120 fps in native 4k is smooth as butter.

That white Series X skin looks pretty sweet. Nice video by the way, it's the first of your videos I've seen before. Personally, I'm a Series X gamer, but I don't have any commitment to either brand. I've bought every console from Sony and MS since PS1, I just don't feel a personal need for a PS5 yet this gen. Both consoles are great in their own right.

I'm not interested in buying PS5 until PSVR 2 comes along. The Quest 2 is holding me occupied until then. Flat gaming is not for me anymore, except football games.

Honestly, I like both PS5 and Xbox series x. One always has features and games that the other doesn't. It's about what I'm in the mood to experience more than anything.

Making some good points here. And many TVs have received features some of these features in only the last couple months. Both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses, but 120 Hz and Dolby Vision while using FreeSync is something wild on a 75" display. I'm sad that PS5 can't do that and I hope it can soon. Game Pass is fantastic and the exclusives are compelling. Forza and Flight Simulator both feel like you are taking a vacation and it'll be better with Horizon 5.
