Finished this one the other day myself.
First of all I have to say that I do not currently like where they ended at. Mostly because it took so long to meet the elves in this one that I feel cheated... even knowing the circumstances its like he should not have divided it and just kept it as an absurd sized behemoth.
Secondly am I the only one confused why the Elf King was handled the way he was? Its like a build up of momentum only to end the vol in a manor best suited to annoy people.
To cap this off It truly felt less like set up then bad handling of the order of things compared to earlier arcs. Realize that this being a 2 parter is less important than the fact that Maruyama said 17 vol period. 15 made me lose hope that 17 is enough.
Now if the 17 vol thing is actually a rumor and not fact then my complaints are solved. So much exploration left to cover that I fail to see where 17 is enough writing space to cover the story needs.
Kody Tiffany Maruyama has said he finishing at 18 now because this was a 2 part. So there is still 2 more volumes to come after 16.

I was very confused by the Ze'shi stuff... as in we met them already right? not in a POV but someone interacting with the old lady that was talking to the old dragon? Ze'shi was the black haired Psycho with almost no one willing to reign her in... I think shes that person
So I felt like her bit in the vol was a premature use of her character and that space would of been better spent focused elsewhere.
No mention of the far south despite that crazy forest prob being a border of the desert kingdom.
I look most forward to Ainz meeting Elf King... more specifically Ainz going mother bear on his ass for treating the twins the way its foregone to go when the meeting eventually occurs.
I look forward to the Slain Theocricy seeing Ainz leaving the forest somehow and thinking that the elves are now connected to the Sorc kingdom despite this vol making it clear they are not the kind of people Ainz wants to deal with.
At best in truth Ainz might defend a few of the elves but it being a vacay its not more than that... then he returns home leaves vacay mode and creates a 2 sided front so the "new friends" are saved, all without realizing he stalled the ST with a master class bluff.
Demi and Albedo will probably bring up that the "Elven subjigatation" is way ahead of schedule and fail to understand what a Vacay is because of Ainz being to active in there minds.

Using Ainz Ooal Gown to calm down the cafeteria is like using dynamite to put out a kitchen fire. It's going to be loud and spectacular, and nobody is going to calm down.
You know, the Elves wanting to stay in Nazarick kinda parallels how Momonga doesnt wanna go back to Earth. Even if he could leave and "be with his own people", the old world means nothing to him, especially now that Yggdrasil is shut down.

Volume 15 is a set up volume for 16. The good thing is 15 and 16 came out around the same time, so we did not have a long wait.

Ik not a lot has happened This volume but honestly I’ve really enjoyed it. The attention to detail and the deep focus of inner monologue as been absolutely amazing. Also he albedo conspiracy has been dam near entirely confirmed

@@ricardojimenez2007 after the workers invasion of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, Albedo suggested forming a player search team made up of her, Pandoras Actor, and Albedo’s youngest sister Rubedo (Nazaricks strongest fighter). She said that it was to search for other players and the guild members of Ainz Ooal Gown tho most people have speculate that it’s actually a hit squad meant to hunt down other players and kill them before Ainz finds out as Albedo sees his while members as a weakness to him since he had an outburst towards team Foresight when they tried to trick him using his guild members as a way to be spared.
How has it been nearly confirmed? I don't really remember anything that'd have anything to do with it in vol 15.
@@Aphanvahrius albedo is extremely suspicious of demigur knowing what she’s doing (we actually don’t know hay she’s been doing in thr bacround with her hit squad) in V15 she’s directly says she needs to come up with possible counter measure’s i case he finds out or Betrays them.
@@N120Xeno exactly this is a team made up of high their undead all that know strong attack magic and debuffs all specifically created by ainz himself. She also asked for pandora’s actor and rubedo. Rubedo is a crazy thing to ask for as she’s seen as nazaricks ultimate trump card because she’s theoryized to have absolutely insane debuffs. She was the main reason they beat that 1500 player invasion back in the game. Now While she didn’t get access to her sister she got pandora and he’s one of the smartest and most skilled/powerful guardians there is.PLUS he as access to ALL the supreme beings forms which gives him their skills and abilities (to a lower degree) but also has all their GOD their equipment and weapons. Remember pandoras actor already said once he would have no problem fighting the other guardians or even other supreme beings if ainz told him too. Safe to say this team could

I think you've got Mare & Aura confused with each other a few times. But overall, a very good synopsis of the volume. It was basically a setup volume wll the crazy shit is going to happen in vol 16.
I think the Epilogue / intermission chapter is also some that needs to be discussed. Who's the (that one) is it ECDL or Brightness dragon lord. But i dont know if the author can rope in that storyline within next 2 volumes.
Its a shame tho, this story needa at least 5 or 7 more volumes to properly wrap up.

I think it's the DDDL, considering he was said to live in a cave and ECDL was most likely killed by the 13 heroes.
At 16:14 you might have gotten confused. Aura is indeed a girl but perhaps you had Mare in mind when you were talking about that. Unless I'm the one that got them mixed up but I checked and yeah Mare is the dude and Aura is the girl. It's mainly their names I haven't really memorized yet so I can see they can be mixed up if you are reading the LNs. :P
So luckily the guy that feel in love with Aura didn't fall for the trap that time. :D

Makes me wonder would she join nazarick because she did say she want a child of a man who can beat her also I can tell ainz not going to like the elf king that's going to be a thing that ainz and zesshi have common kinda.

I admit that I didnt enjoy Vol15 as much as the other vols but really i think thats just coz vol14 is a hard act to follow. Im reserving my final opinions for after Vol16 because 15/16 used to be one volume but it got split in half coz it was so long, thats prolly why Vol15 feels "incomplete" yaknow?
Like, the reason Vol12 was interesting even without Vol13 was because it had all this war/politics/tactics and The Best Girl carrying the story. Right now, Vol15 is like reading the first half of the Dwarf Arc.

I thought it was kinda lacking, especially when reading just after vol 14 which was lengthy.
After I read Vol 15, I was really hoping that the author give us minimum 25 volumes of fully-fledged story with all plot points and story lines seen to their end.
Seriously, this lore is so good and well developed that I'm wary that this is the feeling we are going to get from now on. I mean story lines at least a bit rushed, or ending abruptly, or maybe even worst - dumped altogether. I'm really sad about that part :/

Can anyone tell me what point volume 15 actually ends? All I’ve been able to find and read/listen up to is the corpse of thr abyss meeting and I can’t find anything after that but it feels like it’s not an end point for thr volume?
pretty sure that's the end of vol. 15, since the rest of the story is in vol. 16 from what i've been able to tell, they split 1 novel into 15 & 16 so i'm pretty sure 15 ends with the intermission and 16 starts at chapter 4. so from the info i've found vol. 15 is the prolouge & chapters 1-2-3+intermission and vol. 16 is chapters 4-5 and epilogue.

corpse of the abyss is the end, as noted in my video I would save that part for its own video as the video is already 19 mins long. And I try not to drag my videos out for too long, but with Overlord some times that does not work out HAHA

@@sond.lollipop8919 you're welcome, but i don't know where to find an official vol. 16 i'm pretty sure it's not translated into english yet. there is a verry rough fan translation on the overlord reddit but i wouldn't reccomend, it's kinda hard to understand. both are also pretty recent releases in Japan since vol. 15 came out June 30 and vol.16 came out July 29.

The author's words are volume 18 will be end of Overlord for now. They want to write something different that's not Overlord and don't want an overlap, so fans are speculating it's the end of Ainz's story at least. Unless author sells the rights to make a canon spin off to someone else, I don't believe we will have any more official overlord content

All of Ainz monologues was like fillers in this volume. They were absolutely unnecessary, the volume could've ended with 2 chapters without his monologues.
