From everything I've seen with Denis, he seems like a really chill guy, probably really easy to work with. Which contrasts so much with the intensity of the movies he tends to make.
This adaptation felt very accessible to someone like me who didn’t read the book but wanted to avoid getting bogged down by exposition. I actually wanted a little more exposition at times because I was so fascinated. And I’m very impressed with the fact that the super challenging task of evoking the atmosphere of the world visually never felt like it wasn’t met.
There was a lot that wasn't explained that i think is super interesting. Like i love thufir hawat in the books yet it barely appears in the movie. Mentats are so cool but barely explained. When my friends who never read the novel they don't know that this is a world without computers where every calculation is done with a human brain. Etc
@@williamadiputra2850 How could there be an interstellar travel system without computers? I mean I know that there’s a thing with the navigators and the spice but there has to be some kind of computer system.
@@TheBrandiElizabeth There is not. Computers betrayed the mankind, and people being to understand that they didn't need it, because of the human psyquical development. Also, it is in an heresy in Dune Universe to create some kind of computer o AI
@@TheBrandiElizabeth It isn’t. Forget the director’s cut. Just give me a hard drive with every scrap of footage, put the score on loop and pass through the rest of existence in bliss
Saw it today, and enjoyed it. I was a bit disappointed how dark certain scenes were. And I was in an IMAX theater. The folks watching on the HBO streaming service are missing out big time.
Yeah i watched it in the theater and the next day i watched it again on hbo max and yeah some scenes just not hit as hard as in the cinema. For example the voice and the music.
I really like how Denis portrayed what happens to a person when the voice is used on them, it’s like a black out/ portal type of visual. Genius. I can’t wait to see it again.
They folded space to get there, but what were the chances the actual planet Arrakis they wanted to make a film about had oxygen for the cast and crew. Almost like fate 🤣🤣🤣
@@chinaman1 i know right!! We'd all be living up there if it wasn't for that pesky lack of oxygen and the blood boiling eye popping vacuum that implodes us but i mean if you look past that can't really see a problem with men in space.🤣🤣🤣
Already watched the movie 4 times in cinema and somehow I always want to watch it again the next day... I never had this feeling with any other movie. The little details in this movie amaze me every time! Example: When in one scene Jessica is crying and in the next scene she shows no signs of sadness. This shows the Bene Gesserit training and how they can suppress their feelings. Update: I have watched it 7 times now 😅 and bought the movie too !
Timothee was amazing.. Really all the actors were so real it felt like they believed it.... The onrnothopters and tech was perfectly thought out and not cheese cgi it looked very realistic.. Especially compared to other scifi movies... This seemed real.. Ive seen the movie 4x I need the 4 hour directors cut and all the behind the scenes..
I wouldn’t call them spectacular but I’m actually glad that they weren’t. The costumes in every other Dune adaptation have been garish and overly elaborate. Are they on other worlds or a futuristic circus? The present costumes, on the other hand, were appropriate to each character and the situation. They were subdued when they needed to be but each amplified the character wearing it even in its simplicity. So, the clothes weren’t stunning, like many of the outfits on Game of Thrones, for example, but this isn’t that kind of story. Whoever did the costumes should get an Oscar nomination.
If you haven't read the book, go there and do it. You will notice that the movie is like a book summary. If you liked what was on screen, there's much more on paper ((for example there is always a description of what the characters are thinking) . Few things are different, some actions changed their place or timeline, but it was one of the most respectful adaptations I've ever seen.
I watched pReview'd review and they brought up a good point. A lot the newer and younger generations are going to watch Dune and assume its just copying a lot from other sci-fi movies, like star wars but actually its the reverse cuz Dune was the influence for most of the genre itself.

No one is a real chatterbox. Even comedians only speak a lot when it's their time on stage. Even if you're just an average salaryman, why do you think you need to talk when it's working hours? Anyway they don't need to talk outside of scripts as they're paid based on what they're given and what they're giving. Conserve energy and thoughts. And no one likes someone who talk too much, and as if they need validation or attention.
