Mr. Baldwin, Your retrofits are most impressive. The “reimagined” yachts you create, rival anything that may be bought new. Kudos

Amazing, top-o-th-line work as usual, James! Thank you for sharing in such detail, it helps us 'wood butchers' not bung things up so much. :)

PS - I would 'donate' my mostly-stock/OEM A-30 to you for use in your next series of videos.
No charge, just in order to "give you a new canvas", so to speak, on which to work your magic.
      Idle hands, and all that.
I can hear you laughing now. :D

Great stuff, thanks so much. Hope to put as much knowledge in my head now, for application in 6 years. Your video's are so very helpful.

Another great job! I don't know why people want to spend a bundle on a head that you have to play with sh*t, It had the best head you can get the Lavec! Mine's been in the boat since 1979 but had to change the bowl because it was aluminum and pitted, so used an old porcelain bowl and it's good for the rest of my life. There's several channel's that put those in then later took them out because of the hassel. I love how you make all the compartments water tight!

Thanks. It's true that the only reasonable toilets I've seen are the Lavac or the composting type. I still have the Lavac on my own boat. Both have their issues. Those who don't want to deal with plumbing and the waste tank go for the C-head or similar.

I've had both, and a composter is far and away the better solution if you like to keep life (and your boat!) simple and worry-free... :)

      Lavec is the best head.

Your videos on transom and interior mods are the best! Can you give more info on the "Blue Coat" coating for your water tanks?

    • @atomvoyager
      @atomvoyager  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been using Brewcoat:
      sscoatings.net/brewcoat.htm
Unfortunately, it is expensive at $220 for a two gallon kit which is enough to do 4-5 tanks.
I recently found another tank coating, Devoe Bar-Rust 233H that comes in a one gal kit for $75 at:
      www.superfpaint.com/products/Devoe-Bar-Rust-233H-Surface-Tolerant-Epoxy.html
I also use the following water filters between footpump and sink spout:
Glacier Bay HDG2VS4 Advanced Household Water Filtration System with
HDX HDX2CF4 Carbon Household Water Filters

Thanks, there are a lot of coatings out there but most have minimum tanks sizes. Probably to keep toxin PPM's to regulated levels.

Nice video. Will you be doing a video about adding the aft water tank?

    • @atomvoyager

Yes, I plan do do a series of videos as we go thru the job list, including the aft water tank.
