I placed 2 big 6 ton jack stands where rear mount points of subframe are located, perfect spot for jackstands. Only place in front for jackstands is the front side jacking points after lifting front from center jack point.. but like the ramps on front idea way better as most jackstands are not designed for these stupid jacking points and are curved, designed for old school axel's.
Might be a good idea to mark crank pulley for the position of the Torque Converter drain plug for ease of next service. Also, more fluid will drain if is allowed to drain overnight or good 24 hours. Excellent video.
I can’t recall how much fluid I drained out. How can I make sure I don’t over or under fill? My transmission appears to be making a strange growling sound ever since I changed the fluid. Please advise
If you follow the procedure, the right oil level is the one you obtain draining the oil at 45° and then torquing the drain plug. If nothing comes out, it's underfilled. If oil came out, you're fine. For the noise I don't know if you could have done mistakes sorry
There is a mistake in the sequencing, after filling 6 liters of oil, the gears should be changed and the torque converter should be filled with oil, then the remaining 4 liters should be filled and the oil should be waited for to reach a temperature of 45 degrees, and the oil plug should be opened and the excess oil should be flowed.
Great video! Exact same procedure as WIS. One question tho, for the second 4L fill that you did when trans temp reaches 45C, after you finished second fill did you turned the engine off after that fill for the fluid to cool off then bring it back to 45C to level the fluid?
i did the job but it's leaking from the front passenger side corner where the electric connector plug is, what could be the cause ? the gasket seems to be seated properly and the surface was clean
@@ticktime6569 yes all new bolts but maybe i know where the issue is , i lubricated the rubber gasket side mating to the transmission maybe that's the issue

Hello, my advice is to come back to your mechanic and claim to do the job again with 236.15 oil. Transmission could have some damages but if you act soon you'll save it. Good luck
@ticktime6569. Great video, I just did it on my W204 2013 and unfortunately wasnt aware of draining the Troque Converter like you did. Probably thats why only 4.5 litres oil was drained. I followed the remainig steps as it is and pumped in 5 litre of fresh oil. You think I should re-do it and drain the TC ?. Although the old Oil was relatively clean with no sludge on the magnets or in the pan.
hi, too many variables to answer. Now new oil is mixed with old. If old oil didn't have too many miles you could repeat the partial oil change within a few miles so that a good part will be new. Good luck

Today I have done it. It took me exactly 2,5 hours including torque converter. Draining the torque converter is really slow. You can speed up te process by using a small hose in the beginning until it flows harder. Another tip is to have a person with you to check the torque converter plug since you have to crank it from the top of the car.
As an alternative to the not that novice diy guy/girl - would it be possible to just keep filling 6-7 atf and drive for 10-15 minutes and come back and empty and refill again and do that over until the atf is clear blue colour, just to avoid doing the TC process? Hope it makes sense :)
you will get more clean oil inside if you empty the converter, he managed to get almost 9 liters out of this. Refill and drive method needs to be repeated multiple times to get it clean enough so it is quicker and cheaper to remove the pump and drain converter. I believe you would need more than 20 liter of oil to get it almost clean blue.. :)
I added just over 9litres and just removed a little bit at the end not a one litre. It shouldn’t have too much oil! It was at the temperature so all instructions followed carefully. Only a bit came off during the levelling process. Should I be worried?

On the Castrol lubricants pages, liqui moly, motul. they say it's 9 liters and on Meyle's page it says it's 10 liters. So ask him how much oil he got out.
One thing i dont understand is you say: “ wait for trans to reach 45 degree then pour the rest of the fluid inside (4l) .. then you say start going through the gears while the atf gets to 45degree” . So its 45 degree , you pour 4l. During time the atf temp has got lets say 50degree. How going through the gears drops the atf temp to 45 degree to do the level??
I would have thought you'd change the O ring's on the two pipes from the Electric auxiliary pump....., very critical , just as crucial as the the new plug on TC...

hi, I found them in the service kit with the gasket. If you don't buy the kit, you have to check the exact code for the screws and look for them online. Otherwise go to the nearest MB dealer. Good luck

Hi, yes. First stage is torque to 4Nm all the screws. Then the second step is do another 180° on the screws. Good luck
