The cost doesn't include travel, time off, and extra costs for shipping/delivery it material upgrades like waterproofing. There's only one retail store that I know of that will sell intentionally mismatched shoes for the price of one pair, but it's super hit and miss on finding a shoe I need that fits both feet well.
