I kinda love the idea of a concert from the stage perspective. I don't know any of the drummer lingo, but I have loved that song and seeing/feeling it this way was lovely.
I watched you when you were in Ohio on this tour. I really loved the way you played this song and am appreciative that you posted it. I was given a drum set from my uncle and really enjoy playing (even though I am not that good). Anyway, thanks for posting! PLEASE POST MORE OF YOUR WORK!!!!
I would love to see more of the set if you have it. Even if its just raw audio from the go pro. I'm super interested on the setup/behind the scenes and the stage performance drumming on these bigger "pop" gigs.
Fantastic stuff! I love Ableton Live for this kind of stuff as well! Played with fellow Risen artist Matt Tobias in the past! Having met the Risen guys before, I know why you use their drums. Great guys. Great product!
Click-Track Advice ?: I use Tama Rhythm Watch with 32 ohm earbuds (seem to be louder than 16 ohm) AND use a Boosteroo pre-amp to make it even louder, and we don't PLAY really loud music. Do YOU have to amplify whatever bare click sound you're listening to ??
dude you had another video from this gig with the song hercules. Came back to find it cause it was one of my favourite videos on this site, but it's gone? Why?
Hey man! I took a few of the vids down from TH-cam and posted them on my new lesson website. There are TONS of other vids on the site too. Check it out! It's called the Drum Library. :)
?uestlove (The Roots drummer and The Late Night show drummer) does the same thing with a 20" Zildjian Crash of Doom and a 20" K Constantinople as well I think.
@@bascombgrecian6631 I agree! More toms are always fun. But in Sara's band I really valued having the SPD in the second rack position so I could easily access it whenever I needed to.
Thanks dude. Yes... the gig is unreal. Sara is incredible, not just as an artist but also as an employer. I'm super grateful to be part of her team.
That smoothness of that bass riff in the second verse is the reason I wake up in the morning. Haha. 3:32. Sick syncopation.
I love how you play the song, just groove and priceless simply fill, mr steve, best regard!
Thank you!

Best Click intro Ever
Awesome, start to finish! Really great flam slams at the end.
Awesome take. Perfect mix/levels of in-ears. Love the blog too. Keep them coming.
Brilliant playing... thanks for taking & sharing this, man. Have been a SB fan for a while. What a cool gig that must be
Parabéns Steve.. Você toca muito cara.. Sou seu fã.

Way to go man!!! Awesome job Steve!!
Wow! The figure at 5:46 is very creative. Thanks for that!
That teensy hi hat fill starting at 5:54 is soooooo tasty

Please more!
hey man, can you post more of this DrumCam from Sara's concert? it's really cool..
Thanks! It's a combo of Aaron Sterling's idea from the record and my own variation for the live setting.
Fantastic stuff! I love Ableton Live for this kind of stuff as well! Played with fellow Risen artist Matt Tobias in the past! Having met the Risen guys before, I know why you use their drums. Great guys. Great product!
that snare sounds killer!
Wow, I really liked it! Could you PLEASE send Hercules as well? Pretty pretty please?! I just loved it, congrats!
LOVE Suzy.
I'm an Ableton Live guy all the way... but the click tone itself is the 2nd sample option from the Tama Rhythmwatch.
Hey! Thanks for the kind words! I wrote a blog post about the details on this track. Just search "Steve Goold wordpress" and you'll find it.
How come the love on the rocks video was taken down steve?? :( your technique there was amazingggggg
Steve Goold do you have the drum cam for Eden? It'd be awesome if you post that :) God bless you and your family :)
Hey Steve! What are things on your snare? Like goat toes? Or rather what company makes the ones you have?
You didn't setup your splash?
Great playin' Steve! Question: What's that on the snare?

Are all the musicians using the click track or is it just in your monitor?
Everybody has the click! But we all get it at whatever volume level we want... and most people don't have the click as hot as I do.
Hey what sticks are you using for this song. I saw you talk about the Vic SD2 Boleros in another vid and I've been wanting to check them out. Thanks!
Nice Job Steve...what program are you using for the click?
More! Hercules and Brave!
goat hooves on the snare?
Thanks man!

Cool, will do!
Hey Steve just wondering what's the stuff animal on top of thr snare?
Those are goat hooves. He's using them to muffle the snare for the tone he wants.
Hey Steve, first off, huge fan. How are you toning your cymbals down?
Looks like his crash to his left is a "stack." That's probably the "toned" down-ness that you're hearing. Unless you meant something different.
?uestlove (The Roots drummer and The Late Night show drummer) does the same thing with a 20" Zildjian Crash of Doom and a 20" K Constantinople as well I think.
Nicholas Welsh haha oh, gotcha. Thanks, dude! lol
This is so fucking cool. :)
Really great & nice groove'n! But I think Luis talked about a "toy" or a little "teddy bear" on your snare. :)
Why a four piece set?
That's what the music needs! Or, that's what I feel the music needs. :)
@@stephengoold Well it sounds great nonetheless.
I always like the two mounted toms plus a floor tom.
@@bascombgrecian6631 I agree! More toms are always fun. But in Sara's band I really valued having the SPD in the second rack position so I could easily access it whenever I needed to.
@@stephengoold I really appreciate your answer.
What is the second song?
I knew I recognized the click sample.
steve. you absolutely throttle that groove, and make it hott dang. I love that beat 2 you DON'T hit on the hh. yummy.
