The string turtle used to be in a lot of lot of stores for string to wrap packages before the days of paper bags.

Amber tinted glass discs with an obscured surround were once used as an aid to accurate sighting of firearms. No idea as to the copper case or the spikey bit.

At 3:10, there are no satellites on top that tower. The satellites are in outer space. These are antennas.

BIC salt and pepper shakers? Didn't they use some powders to dry some inks long ago?

i have a reproduction string holder similar to the turtle one shown, and I use it.
i got the grapefruit knife and the travel ashtray. The curved fold-out bit was a dead giveaway.
In my neck of the woods, Yankee fire starters are known as Cape Cod lighters.

I remember mom and dad having that same exact ND ashtray. Wonder what ever happened to it. Wouldn't surprise me if it's still packed away with some of their old household stuff somewhere.

"De" is of/about/from. "Fero" is, if I remember correctly, "I will bring" or some tense of "I bring". "Cuprum" is copper. "quod natura facit" is "that nature does" or "which nature does". I don't know any of the rest. I've forgotten a lot of Latin, unfortunately. Remember that they didn't necessarily fit a word onto one line. So it could be "mendiditurda" instead of two words.
Edit to add: "philolophia" is philosophy, iirc, but I have no clue what "philolophiane" or "philolophianegas" could mean.

It is an old item for education. My Latin is not good at all, but I try to translate... Ironcopper from Hungary, slowly formed what nature produces, for education... I don't know the last word, I think it means what I gave... But I am not sure... So it's a material example of iron and copper, and I think much much older, I think it's a old educational item from a university.

I've tried searching online, couldn't find anything similar to it. To me it looks like an inspecting tool for something requiring an orange filter.
The latin inscription is a bit hard to decipher because it is in cursive, and some letters aren't clear to me.
      The Latin inscription is:
      "Hungara·de·ferro·cuprum·me·reddidit·unda Quod·natura·facit·philosophia·negas"
      Its translation is most likely:
"From iron, the Hungarian water returned me as copper. What nature makes, logic denies."
With philosophia being translated as rational understanding, or logic, as it was considered to be at the time.
The origin of the box seems to be Herrengrund, Hungary at the time, or present-day Špania Dolina in Slovakia. The waters there have a very high amount of copper sulphate in them, so when iron is immersed in it, it gets coated by a layer of pure copper in a very short amount of time.
Many such items originating from the 1600s have been found with similar inscriptions. Here are a few examples, with a similar legend inscribed in them as well:
      Beaker 1:
      www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/237046
“Before I was hard iron; the clear pure water changed me into copper within a few hours in Herrengrund.”
      Beaker 2:
      www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/237050
“You can find this in Herrengrund where miracles like this are known.”
      Cup:
      collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O67241/cup-unknown/
“I come from iron but the power of the water has turned me into copper in a mine in Herrengrund.”

@@outlookdaily1713If you drop an iron (or steel) object into copper sulphate solution, it will be naturally plated with copper \(even without electricity). I suspect this item was used as some kind of demonstration of the process. The inscription being a reminder of the miracle that had been witnessed.

Could the last item be a fire starter by sticking the sharp spike into wood and magnify the felt inside bringing flame ?
