Wow, it's amazing how much work you put into making your classroom a fabulous place for everybody to be in! Being from another country it's also very, very interesting to see the differences in how it all works. The fact that teachers themselfs have to purchase so much of the school supplies, look for deals and such, and also that kids get a list of exactly what to bring is so different from here(Sweden). I love to follow your work, your ideas and thoughts. I so much appreciate your videos and blog posts. Thank you, Tina! // Vanessa
It's not fun. I work in a low income area and instead of getting more money we get less until our scores get higher. So I buy pencils and notebooks for the kids and calculators (hs math) since many don't have parents who can /will buy it for them
WOW!!! What a transformation!!! You put a lot of work and effort into your classroom and it really paid off. It looks great and very colorful. I hope you have a wonderful year!! :)
Love all your videos! It exhausted me to watch this video though because we are three weeks into school already where I teach and this made remember ALL the hard prep work we put in before school ever starts. A tiring time for sure! Hope you have a great year!
Thank you for your classroom tour. Love your videos. I get such good ideas. I'm going to school tomorrow. To start my cleaning. We have to put everything away in closet or top of closet We also have to take down all bulletin boards & can never use tape on walls. This is nyc for you. Wishing us all a fun, quick & easy year !
thank you so much for your help teaching teachers what is suspect I'm their classes in school I am a teacher and thinks to you I'm a prepared teacher and a good one thank you save me from not knowing anything about teaching and being prepared for it!♡
Hi Tina! Wanted to mention you have inspired me to try the Daily 5! However, I am still reading the book. I would love to see how you set up for the Daily 5!
+Jessica Mason Hi Jessica!! I miss having you in my class. You always made me laugh! I hope you had a great two week vacation. See you on Monday! Tell Eric and the rest of your family I said Hello!
I am so happy I found your channel. Your videos are very helpful. Have you tried using sticky putty to stick things to the wall instead of nails, tacks or tape?
+Sueann Kawal I use sticky putty to attach student work to bulletin paper so I don't ruin the paper, but using sticky putty to hang large things on the walls is not really doable. At the end of the day sticky putty doesn't have the kind of strength that 3M packaging tape has.
👍wow wonderful. Can wait to see the finished product. I wanted to ask if you have a reward system in your class and if so can you share or make a video for ideas. Love your videos.
+Christy Slyter Thank you! It is one of the perks of teaching in a portable. Sure, you get rained on going to lunch and you might have to walk through five inches of snow to go to gym, but at least in the summer I have air conditioning.
Such dedication is really inspiring! I've really been enjoying your videos as i try to get all motivated for next term. How much black fadeless paper do you normally buy to do your bulletin boards for the class. I want to order some for my classroom but I'm not sure how many rolls i might need. My class is about half the size of your room (2/3 the size). Any estimate would be appreciated. Thank you!
Looks fantastic! So jealous of the size and the bathroom!! I do have a question.. How old were your boys when you went back to work full time? My girls are 18 months and 3 and I am currently job sharing grade 1/2 2.5 days a week and the mummy guilt is insane and I also hate not being there full time for my students. How did you deal with this?? Help xx
+organisedlifestyle Oh this is a loaded question for me. I went back when my youngest was two. I went back full time and put one child in am daycare that then bused him to school, which started 2 1/2 hours after drop off, (he hated it!), and my youngest was in full day daycare. To pay for all that child care about 2/3 of my monthly income went to the daycare center. I was so exhausted, missing my babies, and at the end of the day not making very much money by the time I paid for daycare and gas for the car. I broke down crying all the time. The only advice I have for you is it does get better. My kids came out fine, eventually the cost went down, and I stopped crying all the time. Good luck.
+Tina Bietler sound just like me. Never felt like I needed to be in two places at once so badly! Just fighting through it. It will get easier. I wish all schools had a daycare centre built in! Have a great new school year (we are heading towards term 4 as we finish the year in December) xx

Love this classroom
Could you explain how you use the colorful containers for "work on words". Love your classroom! Very colorful and inviting for the kids.
+jaya0562 They are the tubs that hold my letter tiles, Magnetic letters, scrabble letters, etc. Each tub is a Work with Words tub for one person.
Thank you so much sharing!
wow I used to be in your room like last year and there is a big change hope your class be nice

+Tina Bietler I just thought that would be helpful since there were so many holes you had to cover.

+Gliced Torres I do have a behavior system in place but it isn't really a reward system. I can do a video on it later.
Your room looks great! (You're so lucky to have an air conditioner!!) Good luck with your new year! :)
+Christy Slyter Thank you! It is one of the perks of teaching in a portable. Sure, you get rained on going to lunch and you might have to walk through five inches of snow to go to gym, but at least in the summer I have air conditioning.
+Tina Bietler haha! Love your positive attitude!! :)
+Tina Bietler Whens ur first day of school Mrs.Bieltler?

Awesome bathroom woah
What kind of school do you teach in? I've never seen a room off by itself like yours appears to be. I'm interested!!!!

I buy one 50 foot roll a year. At my local teacher store that costs me about $27.
