FAQ:
Q: Can I send you a deck to check out?
A: Only patrons can send me decks and expect a reply, because I get too many of these requests to manage. Consider joining the discord (links above) and posting your decks in the #decks channel for community feedback.
Q: Why didn’t you play this certain card I would play?
A: Because I don’t think it is as good as every other card in the deck.
Q: Why did you make that play at time stamp XX:XX?
A: I usually talk through my plays, so watch again and see if I mention it (I often do, sometimes during the turn after the play to keep the video moving). If I don’t mention it at all, I may have missed it. I miss plays several times a day, and so do other players.
Q: How can I support the channel?
A: Watching the videos IS supporting the channel. There are many options above if you have extra money and would like to help more. I appreciate it, I have a lot of bills and life stuff to manage, but it is not required. Take care of yourself first, watch the videos, then give other financial support if you really want to.
Q: Will you play janky deck xyz?
A: My mission is to show people decks that they can play often, win games with, and feel successful with. I don’t enjoy decks that strive to achieve an interaction but rarely win (aka, janky decks). There are many successful jank players on TH-cam, and you should check out their channels. I am competitive, I like winning, and I like helping others win and feel successful. That is why you won’t see janky combo decks on the channel very often.
Q: Do you show all your games, or do you edit out your losses?
A: I don’t show all my games. The video is usually the best moments of between one and three hours of recording. I remove games for a number of reasons, both wins and losses. Some games are slow, some aren’t competitive because of lands, some are the same matchup over and over. More losses get cut out than wins because winning is more fun for me, which makes for better content for most viewers. It can be disappointing for those who want to see me lose (yes, people watch just to see me lose, I see you!).
Q: If you edit out some of your losses, how do I know if a deck is good and worth crafting?
A: If you watch the entire video, I always give my honest opinion about the deck at the end. As always, you are welcome to draw your own conclusions. My goal is to show off a variety of decks that can get a player with skill and conviction into Mythic, and I want them to have fun doing it. I almost never show a video of a deck that I don’t believe in, and if I don’t like a deck after playing it, I guarantee you will know about it if you watch the whole video and listen to what I have to say.

yeah, CGB has 2 editors, one that does the daily videos that never cuts "editor cut this" and MatiB who always adds flair. If there's no cool or funny additions to a video, it's not MatiB editing.

I kinda miss the chains. I guess the game runs smoother without it and it is not necessarie but still, I was used tho the chain animations.

@@mathewhill5556 Arena having things like that is part of the only appeal for me. I don't like a lot of Arena, but having animations and sounds like that really helped bring it to life, and escape was one of my favorites because of the subtlety.
@@sammysammyson Honestly I make Areana sound effects when I play paper Magic now. Chains was one of the most distinct effects, it's really wierd adjusting to the new effect which feels flat and bland.
@@mathewhill5556 Yeah, I noticed every time in this video when that happened. Even effects like Elspeth's Nightmare make more sound than releasing an Elder Giant from the depths of the Underworld 💀
Why did they get rid of the chains animation when you escape a card? Seems like an odd choice imo

For the same reason they removed part of the Mutate animation; streamlines the gameplay and gets the app ready for whenever the new set would drop and add animations of its own.

I love it when you say something like "The Editor is going to Cut all this out" I'm pretty sure that it's intentional... Cuz it's funny.
I'm sure half the time they actually mean "cut this out." And it's cut so we never see it. The third party editor has to know when it's funny to keep, and when to just remove it.

I substituted the Spikes with Kazuul's Fury to have a sacrifice outlet for Akroan War and for hurling the Plow after damage right into the face of opponent. Leaves a mark ;-)

This does bring up interesting discussions about flavor. Does Kroxa, farmer hat on head, hop into the plow and then upon realization of his inevitable death puts a cinderblock that only a 6/6 can carry on the gas pedal so it can continue to operate without him?

Kroxa pulling a plow had me laughing for way too long
I freaking hate decks like kalles. They drive me insane it’s like their plan isn’t to win its to make sure you don’t win. So what ends up happening is they lose anyway but it took five eons

I like how everytime the editor has to cut something, they don't. They know we like to watch.
Used 11 rare wild cards to make this deck, its freaking sweet.
Only have 2 pathways so put in a crawling barrons and a bonders enclave in, which is great mana sinks with plow.
Also switched out heartless act with feed the swarm, cause I don't like act and being able to blow up enchantments is awesome and the life loss is offset by plow.
maybe add more colorless sinks for the WWW? Mazemind Tome?
I've really been enjoying the new Poison the Cup as a remove spell, the srcy is nice. Surprised no one is using it yet!

I'd like to add that in know these aren't completely jank decks, but this deck is certainly out there. Which I absolutely love. Makes it more fun than watching other traditional decks. It's a healthy mix

People play jank with the plow, and that white 0/6 ox creature that can use its toughness to crew vehicles. it's pretty fun when it works, to run people over. I love this as a competitive version!

How did the opponent end up with -4 life at the end of the 1st game? What did I miss watched the sequence twice and didn't understand.
I have the same question. Alseid blocked Kroxa. So, opponent should be down to 1, but go up to 2 life because of Lifelink. What did I miss???

the throne of death side of egon seems like such a bad card, but im kinda bad at rakdos in general so maybe the upside of self mill for other graveyard cards beats losing the top card. I also couldnt figure out how to properly pilot that auras deck though so i think im just bad and dumb at magic now

Hey @CovertGoBlue you could use the chapter feature on your videos so we can navigate between matches, most mtga content creators are going for it.

And the other advantage of doing so is that you can insert the ads at those chapter points. Before I had TH-cam premium I always skipped the randomly timed ads so I wouldn't lose the thread of what you were doing or saying, but when watching LVD's videos if the ad between games caught my interest I would watch it. So ads between games can actually reduce annoyance AND give your advertisers better value, which is a win-win.
For a second, I had thought you'd include Ruinous Ultimatum, given the 3W mana gained from attacking with the Plow.

The life counter bugged out for the opponent in the first game
A bug! Damn I thought I had gone stupid or something. I watched about half a dozen times, right down to 0.5 slow motion, and read and re-read the cards involved and could not figure out why Kroxa was hitting past the Alseid with trample. I came to the comments hoping for some clue to sort me out. Thank you for confirming my hope that the problem wasn't ME!
Anyone else notice that in the game against Kalle's Esper control, the only damage dealt to CGB's opponent came from their own treacherous blessings?

He had the same idea with plow, kroxa and Egon, but the rest of the cards was for fun and jank. True MBM Content !
I wondered why my opp played the plow with rakdos. I beat it pretty closely with mono white.
Just faced (and beat) this deck twice in the last hour. What an influencer!
At the last game (41:48min) couldn't you just have sac Egon, have 6 cards in graveyard and bring back kroxxa to deal the last 3 damage?
kinda. You can't choose to sac Egon at upkeep, the sac/draw only happens if you are unable to exile cards from the grave. I think there was a line, though, since CGB drew another Egon.
At combat he had 4 cards in grave and Egon in hand. Swing with Gigantha and give oppo chance to chump egon and eat gigantha, if oppo does then play 2nd Egon and sac with legend rule. Bring back Kroxa boom 3dmg. Even if oppo doesnt trade, he wasnt dead on the crack back. I can see why CGB took the line he did though
the 3 white mana is perfect for Kaya's Onslaught if you just want some nice damage lol
