    Hi
In this video I take you through the process of repair a non working folding mirror on the above car.
The folding mirror motor was constantly running, in the video I show you the reason why.
I managed to fix it without any new parts, just by repairing the broken ones...
I do apologise for my voice, was bit rough due to my sore throat...
    Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions please put them below.
Like always, thank you for watching!

👍I just did the same thing on my i40 (what a pain to take apart) but instead of using wire I used nylon tubing heated and pushed in and cut to size. In the recess side of the gear I bent a paper clip round to the circumference as the gear so it fit in the recess just like a ring, heated the ring till it got hot and pushed it into the recess of the gear, then I filled the recess with bicarbonate of soda and then added the super glue to the bicarb. I also drilled out the center so it is not so tight and use two part epoxy. It worked well.
Super glue alone is not strong enough for moving parts or really thin stuff, adding bicarb to fill in the gaps and to reinforce makes it stronger and it can be filled to make it neat.
I did like your method of use the wire, I just did think of it at the time.
    Thanks

Nice job. For the filling you can use epoxy glue ,but wash the grease out complete and after mounting it back don't forget to lubricate with Lithium grease. Thanks A LOT TEAM.

Hi! Could you advice, what side mirrors to look to have folding option (how many Pins are needed) ? I have side mirrors with heating and automatic adjusting, but i would like to repleace it to have all three options installed.
One more question - do I need to change eletric cable that is now plugged to my mirrors and fuses? Or should they be able to handle additional function ? ( + folding). Thanks for help!

Hi,Thanks for this video. I have come across the same problem. You have given only lecture for fixing the plastic wheel firmly on metallic spindle cum gear using some glue /epoxy. I will appreciate if you can make a step by step complete and actual video showing fixing of slipped plastic wheel on spindle with naming the fixing materials used. It will be very useful for all of those who have the same problem because this gear isn't available as a spare part in the market /companies. For this reason the only alternative left is to go for new side view mirror.

hi i have the same problem in my car kia optima i fixed the mirror in same way instead of putting wire i used small ring from small pipe but the mirror worked for some time and then this part broken again badly and can not fix so i make a mold of silicon and put a material in this mold and i have a copy from this broken part but it is fail after a period because of the internal hole it is not fixed correctly on the shaft by the way when this part is broken the folding motor still continuously running because this motor stopping depending on the current drawing by motor when it reaches the limit it will blocked and draw more current then the electronic circuit will disconnect the motor

Right, if I do remember correctly, after the mirror removed you will see a few screws around the motors and mechanism that adjusts the mirror... some of those screws are holding the cover...
