Wow This video is tailor-made for someone like me: A single guy with no one in his life who REALLY wanted a video sponsored by Surfshark! Thank you Jon!
I wish there was a way to give this video more views. 1,5 hours of incredibly high quality, funny board game content is so rare. Triple A grade TH-cam content!
I love these huge compilation videos you make to cover a general subject with curated recommendations for related sub-categories! Caper: Europe is a favorite head-to-head game for us, and also the personal-puzzle game Patchwork is one of the early games that got us into the hobby, and we still play it many years later!
Thanks for your videos! Bought Patchwork and played our first game yesterday thanks to your channel. We really enjoyed it! Tomorrow we'll try out 7 Wonders Duel.
I love how even after watching you for quite a long time, there were still games in here I hadn’t heard of before (or heard about and forgotten about). Great video!
Match of the century looks fantastic, and I'm already a big fan of Watergate. That's going on my list! I understand that this is a compilation video, but for a two-player co-op, Sky Team is a must these days.
I'm so happy to see you included Arboretum. My husband and I have been playing this game at least 4x/week for the past 2 years. Yes, we have tons of other games we also enjoy playing, but this endlessly varying/challenging game keeps us evenly pitted against one another in a fun way. We love that it's a fast play (about 30 minutes), and we also enjoy the relatively novel mechanic that makes it just as important to keep trees as it is to use or discard them. Thanks also for introducing us to some new options to add to our collection! Great video!
Glad you’re still making videos. Our most played games are Schotten Totten and Air, Land and Sea. Sniper Elite also falls into the couple category for us.
Awesome content! I've added a few games to my never-ending wishlist! One bit of feedback. Sometimes the audio has this weird effect. One example is at 1:09:37. It's like it's doubling the audio. I can't think why but just remember hearing a similar thing on one of your other videos.
Even though I'd already seen most-if not all-of these clips, once I got one hour into the video, I genuinely forgot that was just you in a wig and thought it was Serena.
Love how honest the Surfshark pitch was. Instead of making the security case that you’d usually hear for a VPN, you went for the thing people actually want: more stuff on Netflix 😂
This was such a welcome video! I'd been thinking about couples games, and I was so happy to see a video with a whopping 40 games. I imagine this was so much work, but also thank you so much!
Now this just can't be fair. You're making me fall in love with every single game I hear, and I've got way too many responsibilities to be playing board games nonstop!
I paused the video on My Farm Shop, husband and I talked about just how it looked, hit play, and you said literally word for word what we'd just said! We had a good laugh. =) This was so fun to watch, thanks for the Friday night entertainment.
I’m halfway in and loving the recommendations and analysis. Hanabi is another couples cooperative game I highly recommend - very interesting as a 2P game.
This video is just perfectly made! Playtime, complexity and having it categorized are all being super helpful. And finally (subjective) me and my partner just realized there are other board games out there than Monopoly and Scrabble, so this guide fits us perfectly A potential thing you could add in the future would be game size on board. We live in a small flat, and some games are just too big for us to place down on the table. But I'm unable to know before I check multiple pictures on BGG, saving me from a "bad buy".
Wonderfully produced video. Clearly evident is the high level of expertise and enthusiasm. A very smooth, informative and entertaining presentation. Give me a lot of new games to try.
Great video. I play 2-player games either with my son (a little more competitive) or my husband (a little less). I have a lot of games to check out now.
somehow im liking your jokes more and more than the actual board games you are recommending... keep it up, love your content! p.s low hanging fruit but missed chance on saying qwinto was your qwintossential couple game
This is a great video. Love the humor too. Nice job. Unless I missed them, surprised that Targi and Jaipur didn't make the cut. Qwinto sounds great, will check it out. Thanks for the content.
I would add The Search for Planet X under the Personal Puzzles category. My wife and I absolutely love it and it's our most favourite game in our collection. I haven't tried The Search for Lost Species but I'll give that a shot soon.
An excellent list of games! May I suggest Caper for some light competition? Hadrian's wall for personal puzzle games (high complexity though a joy once you get it together) and then dorf romantik for cooperative - you won't go far wrong with those three!
Thank you for highlighting many so different games. I usually look for games with interesting mechanics and don't care much about the theme, while my partner's interest relies greatly on theme. This way I'm able to get an idea if I would enjoy playing it or not, and I can pitch the ones I'm interested in to her. We recently picked up Star Wars: the clone wars (another Pandemic System game, which seems similar to Fall of Rome in how you describe it) and tried Sea Salt and Paper in a board game cafe, which we both enjoyed a ton!
This video is great! It's nice that I've already watched your other videos and recognized the games as soon as you mentioned their names. Great recommendations!
@@lf2334 I'm not sure the point of this comment. I was trying to point out an unusual issue that I haven't seen in his videos before to help him identify a potential issue in the editing process that was done for this video.
Great content per usual! B roll and graphics are fantastic. Have you ever asked your wife to be in a video? Or does she just enjoy your impression of her too much?
So many great games!!! Air, Land, & Sea, Lies, Spies and Supplies and Santorini are favorites with my family. We have the Critters at War versions. I am interested in the Game of the Century that is new to me. I agree the most of the others I would enjoy. Thanks for the informative video!
Jon, have you played Scarabya? It's 1-4 players and fits in Personal Puzzles category nicely, a really simple polyomino laying game that's different every time. I highly recommend it....
Such an excellent recap. I really need to pick up some of these games especially since the kiddo is at the age where she doesn't really feel like participating in board game night.
The only thing I liked about On Tour was coming up with the band names. We all agreed that your band name had to come from the subject line from that last piece of spam mail you got. I really enjoyed touring the U.S. as the "Personal Business Matters See Attached"
my fiance and i got onitama and became so quickly obsessed with it. it's our favorite kind of game that is simple to learn but the strategy can go so deep
Exactly what I was thinking….if you want to be successful on YT, you need to play by the rules. I can also say for myself that I would have watched 4x20 minutes videos, but only check the notes on this video
2 of our absolute favorite head to head games are Kahuna (a bit lighter but very tight design and every move counts) and Innovation (more complex but I dont think we ever played 2 games that were the same)
If you think that there is not enough replayability in Fairytale Inn you can try fan expansion from BGG that introduce set of cards with different abilities (similar to Cascadia)
You know you are 40 when 1,5 h video from Actualol on Friday evening sounds like the perfect start of the weekend.
Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Although finding it at 8pm... Might have to finish it tomorrow.
That hurts 😅
But im not close to 40....and it still sounds like a good start.
I’m 32 and out at the moment. Saving this for when I’m home at the tv with a cup of tea 😅
Exactly how I’m feeling and spending the evening 😁 and I’m only 25 😂
Glad you are still making videos!!
I wanted to say the same. I really love this channel, although I would have changed the name of 'head-to-head category' to 'divorce mode.'
Wow This video is tailor-made for someone like me: A single guy with no one in his life who REALLY wanted a video sponsored by Surfshark! Thank you Jon!
I love how detailed you get when categorizing games. It really helps people like me (who loves details) parse your recommendations better.
Incredible service putting together 40 games for couples.

Hugh Grant is Hugh Grant for Americans 😂 that really got me! So great to see these skits again!
“No I like spiders, whenever they come into my flat, I like to offer them my cookbooks and complete works of Shakespeare” 😂😂😂 love it!
Seeing it written down I finally understood that joke 😄
Thanks for your videos! Bought Patchwork and played our first game yesterday thanks to your channel. We really enjoyed it! Tomorrow we'll try out 7 Wonders Duel.
I really enjoy the little sketches in this one! A pleasant return to the comedy that made me fall in love with your channel way back when.
I love it when the background magically changes!
Best of luck, I hope you're doing well.
I love how even after watching you for quite a long time, there were still games in here I hadn’t heard of before (or heard about and forgotten about). Great video!
Great list - check
Great production value - check
Great writing - check
Correct pronunciation of Ibiza - check
Finally! Someone actually sub-categorises ‘couples games’; and actually includes head to head games :)
Love the content and the skits! My wife and I use your channel for new game recommendations and we love it! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for the donation 🙂
I usually don't like YT videos this long, but I was intrigued the entire time. Love your approach. You do a great job. Thank you!

Love how honest the Surfshark pitch was. Instead of making the security case that you’d usually hear for a VPN, you went for the thing people actually want: more stuff on Netflix 😂
just playing Pandemic legacy season 1 with my partner. We're loving it, would definitely recommend!

Perfect timing, always looking for some inspiration for 2 player games. Thank you so much for this huge compilation
Love this video! Need more compilation videos like this for people to learn about new games! Also, I highly recommend Junk Drawer.
Wonderfully produced video. Clearly evident is the high level of expertise and enthusiasm. A very smooth, informative and entertaining presentation. Give me a lot of new games to try.
I love this channel.
Thank you for keeping it going.
I'll try to join the patron to help in the future.
Thank you!
I'm surprised you didn't include Marabunta. We bought this after you mentioned it during the live stream and my husband and I love it!
I'm only half way through and this is a great video. So many LOL's and great games.
Thank you 🙏
Please don't ever stop making content.

I was about to click away until you mentioned Surfshark -- now I'm going to watch the whole video twice!!
This whole thing is such a treat! Your description of my farm shop was my fave 😂
somehow im liking your jokes more and more than the actual board games you are recommending... keep it up, love your content!
p.s low hanging fruit but missed chance on saying qwinto was your qwintossential couple game
Lol, I literally used that line in my Shoe Box collection video, last month 😂
@@actualol now I feel bad for ever doubting you!
This video has so many hidden gems! Exactly the kind of lighter games that appeal to me and my partner. Thank you ❤

Always a good day when you drop a video!
Love how affordable a lot of the games you recommend are!
I would add The Search for Planet X under the Personal Puzzles category. My wife and I absolutely love it and it's our most favourite game in our collection. I haven't tried The Search for Lost Species but I'll give that a shot soon.
We have The Search for Lost Species and like it, but we think the superior logic game is Alchemists, which also uses an app!
@@CindyPlaysGames Is Alchemists good with 2 players?
@@markusbiewer2756 yes! You have to get the app though. With more than 2, one person can replace the app by controlling the game master board
@@markusbiewer2756 it plays well with 2
Love actualol upload days!!! Can’t wait to watch this!!

I finally got my hands on Watergate yesterday, looking forward to giving it a go finally
3:04 "That's why you never get promoted" - actual lol right there!

Oh my god, this is so timely!
This is such a great, thorough guide! Fantastic work!
Commenting for the algorithm! Love your work!
Thanks
Thank you!
Watching this with my partner and our 4 month old.. dreaming of the day we can get some gaming in again, and this gives us a solid wish list!
Great vid as usual. Noticed a few spots where audio desynced (echo) at least on my mobile device. 😕

Very thorough. I always enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the great content 😁
Wow what a masterpiece of video ! Thank you so much, I'll keep this video in my list
Have to make time for game night again! The Sherlock Holmes looks right up our alley.
Awesome video. What percentage of your wardrobe are you wearing thorough this video?
Lol, great question! Not sure! Certainly you've seen most of my shirts 😁
This is the definitive list! If you can’t find some of these to play and enjoy, you probably shouldn’t be a couple😆

Loved this video! Thank you for your effort and work.
You should look into Sky Team if you haven’t already! It’s my favorite two person game and it’s SUPER re-playable
The go-to's for my partner and I are:
Hanamikoji
Critters at War
Battle Line Medieval
Royal Visit
Watergate
