  • The CRK Umnumzaan is a unique and interesting knife, which is pretty expensive, but incredibly well-built and well-executed, and has an action which is unique and pretty excellent.
    If you're willing to pay the price, the Umnumzaan's a gem.

    I have one, and I edc it EVERY DAY, I use it a lot. this knife is built like a tank and is extremely sharp. I don't hesistate to use it on anything, but im not stupid with it either the wear and tear gives it character IMO. you buy a knife like this for its intended purpose and thats to USE it. if you take care of this knife it will serve you well for years and will last till your grand children are big enough to use it.

    Another good review. I just bought one of these but it's the original version with the funky pivot and no lock bar stabilizer. I like it because it looks unique with the pivot screws. Unfortunately it requires a couple of special tools for those pivot screws. Overall I like it a lot, much more than I thought I would. The biggest negative is disengaging the lock bar. I don't know why they didn't include a cut-out to access that more easily as seen on the Sebenza 21/25. Mine seems to have even less of the lock bar accessible than the newer version if I'm looking at it correctly. I gave up on closing it with one hand. Regardless, this one will stay in my collection.

    I am waiting for the Xmas day when CR would offer a flipper. About the Umnumzaan reviewed here: the wind breaker is preposterous; and the hot spots trully bothered me when I tried a friend's Um. Though exepensive beyond reasonability, this knife's design is beautiful, and the improvements (over the Sab) are notable. Congrats for the review!

  • @OnTheEdge5950
    @OnTheEdge5950 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The smoothness of the action is hard to describe. I love flicking it open . The funny thing (getting a little bit off topic ) is that the sabenza 25 has way better ergos than the 21 and it seems like more people like the 21. I will take my 25 any day.

    I have an Umnumzaan that I keep in my EDC. I’m left handed and having a dedicated, purpose built left handed model sealed the deal for me. I carry this every day when I’m not going to work or expecting hard, dirty use. I carry a left handed PM2 for work and more demanding stuff. I have had the Umnumzaan for 3 years now and it has been fantastic. It is every bit up for hard use and I use it fairly hard but I like it way too much to beat it up too badly.

    Got a question for u. I just got exact same one but i have a problem that i cannot get past it. The pocket clip is alll the way further out compared to a Sebenza 21. The u num pocket clip really digs into my hand, especially my pinky. I think if the made the lockbar thikness same as the 21 and therby the pocket clip a little further in it would be kuch better. In addition the back of the handle feels a little smalle in circumferance/width and is not as comfortable. Other than that no complains

    the scales frame whatever they want to call them are to thick heavy and square hate the blade shape no need of rubber o rings .isn't the thick handle because they want a thick lock? then put a tinny ball in it ? that makes no sense either .and i guess they thought the perfect knife ( sebenza ) was missing the lock spring over travel .
    the absurd price ! go Chinese!
