Started taking my kids to lunch at the Pier 50 years ago. Quality keeps getting broader and better. Built a hotel in Redondo and made Quality my favorite recommendation for business associates. Never disappoints

I live and work near Quality Seafood. They do have an amazing selection and a fantastic staff. That said, the food is mostly quite pricey. You are paying a lot for the location of dining outside with a harbor view. It is very popular with the tourists, not so much with the locals.

Steve... I am from LA... grew-up fishing in Hermosa and Redondo Beach, both off the rocks or deep sea... and yet, I never heard of Quality Seafood.... I am glad you did this report...

I love this place. My Dad used to bring us here. We'll bring our big rice cooker and dipping sauces and get the fish and seafood and have an awesome spread on our table.

You reminded me, my mother would make delicious fish broth soups & she would make it out the fish heads she would by there.Growing up- friends would love her soup going for seconds and had no clue it was fish broth lol

Long Beach has a USA Daily Live Seafood Market that sells live rock crab for $4.99/lb and they will cook it for like .25 cents a lb. They charge $8 + where you are in Redondo.
Wish New York had good seafood like this. All we have are imitation seafood markets. That don’t carry too much product, only enough to put on display so the place doesn’t look empty.
We stopped going to Redondo for fresh seafood many years ago due to the several reasons. High prices is one of the reasons. Also, not worth the drive, the traffic, the crowd & parking isn’t free.
So where do u go now and from where are you coming that it's too far. Because yeah it can be pricey if you're buying for more than yourself and the fact that they charge for lemons,hot sauce etc... can get pricey. I mean he called a lobster roll a snack like it's nothing like chips a candy bar . Not saying it's a full course meal but still for that price I wouldnt call it a snack
Rip off prices, I get my seafood from Pismo Beach pier since I live here. Their prices are half of Redondo beach pier. Oysters are $1 each large ones local and delicious. Their rock crab is $4.99/lb Pretty obvious they are up charging since tourists are paying these inflated prices
Pismo doesn't have nearly the selection. Fresh seafood isn't cheap, you get what you pay for. Same goes when I visit Florida. Yes, the local markets are way higher priced, but what you get was usually caught that same day and well worth the price.
When I was in college, I lived on S Catalina Ave and Ruby St. I could walk down to Redondo Beach Pier by just crossing the street. While it was many years ago, I knew this area well. Seafood there was not that great. Most if not all the seafood is not sourced locally. You can get quite a selection of fresh seafood at a lot of Asian Super Markets and at a much cheaper price.
@@iliaszhumabaev1025 99 Ranch Markets are all over SoCal. This chain of Chinese Supermarket is quite popular. Price is acceptable. There are 16 markets around LA metro. There are also about 3 Shun Fat Supermarkets around the same area. This is more of a Vietnamese/Chinese Market. My favorite is Hawaii Supermarket, which is located in San Gabriel. These all have Sea Foods. You might want to check them out.
If the first place is Redondo fish market, I'll say it's a pricy place now. It's not exactly fresh either. You can fresh fish at the local Asian market. However, it is a fun place for taking your date to, assuming you don't mind spending the money. Their poke is pretty tho.
Was just there last week. 2 dungeon crab 🦀 for $160.00? 2 king crab legs was $59.00? Rather spend $250 for steak and lobsters 🦞 at Steakhouse. Way too expensive for so little. 👎
They over price their seafood by 3 times the normal cost!!! Salmon Fillet @ 25.99 LB, OMG their profit is huge!!!! Crawfish cooked @ 10.39 LB and $11.95 for live when my Fam is telling me they are selling for $1.50 LB alive back in NOLA!!!
