good video. your stuff has been helpful putting a 68 back together for a customer. He took it apart to nearly the last nut and bolt, didn’t bag or label one single thing. Then he had a massive stroke and the car sat in his cluttered garage for 20+ years…. His memory is nearly blank from the disassembly time frame. All the parts showed up to my shop in boxes and coffee cans!!!!! You know the rest of the story😂
You can buy those screws at Lowes or HD. They are called #8 x 3/4-in Truss Self-Drilling Lath Screws, they are a chrome like finish as opposed to your black finish. But they would work just fine since the weather stripping covers them any ways. Great job my friend.
I just installed that same piece of weather stripping on my stang. The factory-installed original had very little glue. I know I used more than the factory did. I actually found it better to start in the back and use the rear window to help hold it in place as I went forward. That was me though.
He bro can u send me a link of where u got yours for your 65 coupe cause I can’t find the roof rail channeling at all 😭😭😭I need them it’s gonna be my daily car for high school and without this part I can’t drive her every day if it rains
@@DanielVega-fe8xl I know an old salvage yard in Michigan that has plenty in perfect shape, still on the cars. They have about a dozen or more 66-68 mustangs. I just picked a pair last week for my car. Doubt they will ship.
Looks amazing! Do you happen to have a video on how to install the chrome strips that are right next to that seal on the outside of the car? My 65 came with a set in the trunk and for the life of me I can’t get them on!
U happen to have the part number on stainless trim? I got the driver but I'm missing the passenger. I'll be tackling this job pretty soon. Thanks for sharing!
Im putting together a car my Dad took apart 30+ years ago… I don’t have the roof rails… are they required or can I install the weatherstripping without?
@@JoDaddysGarage That was the first place I looked. There are so many videos there I cannot find it and have went through them 3 times and cant find it. Thats why I asked for a link.
Thanks for your video. I saw you don't use double face tape, I should watch your vid before as I just received some double face. Anyway, what glue do you use on the weather strip ?
I am sure I am not the only one who wants to know, but it has been a long time since your last Brooklyn Pony video. What is the problem with this project? The owner does not have money anymore? Il you could give us some news. Thanks

I just bought a 1965 Mustang. The weather stripping is good but a little twisted in spots. I’ll replace it and your video is just the help I needed

This is the most helpful video I have found in youtube to replace this seal! Thanks!
Glad you made this video Ill be doing this to mine soon. I was worried about the process, seems pretty easy, thanks!
Nice work, getting there!!!!!
I don't know why, but when i put these in on the GT/CS it was such a huge milestone... love the little details.
Been there done that !! 17 mustangs and still more to do lol
hi barry nice work
I am currently building mine, but I live that color you've painted jade!!!

Awesome! Thank you sir! God Bless
Very useful. Go Daddy, mines a 66 Stang total rebuild heading for 3 years end Nov, on road by then?

The drip rail trim? I made a video. It’s in the Jade playlist. Probably a few before this one.
My 65's were riveted in place. I had to drill through the rivets to get them off. I don't know if that's normal for that year.
Never saw rivets in any of the ones I worked on.
Sounds like somebody replaced them already and lost the screws, so they riveted them in.
Ive worked on many Mustangs and I’ve never seen Rivets
Had rivets on my 65 too.

They don't remake them for the coupe.
What do we do now that they don't remake these?

Hey do you have a link to your rear valance installation for 1968 Mustang?
It's in the Jade playlist.

I searched a couple more times. Never did find it. TH-cam must have removed that video. Thanks anyways and have a nice day.
Need to know how to adjust my front windows on 68 Ford Mustang
I have videos on that.
Thanks for your video. I saw you don't use double face tape, I should watch your vid before as I just received some double face. Anyway, what glue do you use on the weather strip ?
It’s basically contact cement. I show it in the headliner video. It came with the headliner kit.
I haven't taken the rails off yet. The screws look pretty tough to remove. Do I need to remove them to add weather-stripping??
You don't have to. If you are just replacing the weather stripping for the glass.
I am sure I am not the only one who wants to know, but it has been a long time since your last Brooklyn Pony video. What is the problem with this project? The owner does not have money anymore? Il you could give us some news. Thanks
Wish I knew. Haven’t heard from the owner in over a year.
@@JoDaddysGarage hope he is alive and well
Hey Joe. Doe this have to come out in order to I stall a new headliner?
It’s probably best to remove it. Use a puddy knife to slowly break the tape loose. Do not bend the channel. They are not reproduced for the coupes.
@@JoDaddysGarage I already took them both out earlier today. I have 2 or 3 OEM sets here in the shop. But I didn't bend these. thanks for the reply.
wish mine fit that good... :/
Hi! Do you happen to know the part number for the roof rails themselves? Any help is much appreciated!
They do not make replacement rails for the coupes. Only Fastbacks. If you don’t have the original ones you will have to find some from a junk car.
Where can buy the roof rails chanels?
They only sell them for the fastbacks.
