    Just keep 'em coming! This pink project car is especially interesting since it's a keeper and we get to watch you restore to new in its entirety, not as just a completed shell on wheels.

    Maybe a video of you removing the weather seals of an old car’s channels and pointing out how to clean and prep for replacing the seals. What to not do.
    Most people probably are replacing weather seals on a vehicle that is not restored.
    Your work is inspiring.

    Love the tutorials! Very informative and easy to understand.
    When you mentioned putting the ends of the weatherstripping on the bottom of the panel so that water would run off, not in, I would suggest you 45° the ends one over the other and glue them together. It would be a stronger joint and less likely to shrink and separate, it would seem to me.

    Don’t know it you did it or not, but where the two ends of the w/strip meet at the top of the trunk, I insert a length of soft rubber hose or sometimes round foam to tie the two ends together to prevent them from separating. Learned this from a factory bulletin many years ago.

    Great video to learn from an expert the correct way to do this. What flat black paint do you use on the doors? Seeing the paint and body portion of restoration would be great to see even though you may have guys who specifically do that stuff, but whoever does it, it's flawless, I don't see that level of workmanship on many other guys' build videos.

    Your video's are Great. You could call them "Tip of the Day" "Tutorial" For different aspects of the restoration like proper door glass alignment and installation from begining to end. But break into multi-part. To entice people to come back and finish. Before & after restored pieces. What you had to buy to replace and the quality differences between repro and original. Like the weather striping Alot of the different restoration pieces are dif than the orig and people would appreciate the differences. Like the original repro 69 Mach 1 door panels use to be a 1/2 to short on the width and didn't fit quite right. Those are the things that frustrate and turn off alot of the home builders imo and they then lose interest. Just some idea's I always like watching your quality professional True Craftsmanship as do I know many others do. 1 thing I stress to newbies. Don't throw anything away til it's done. So you can compare the orig to repro. etc...

    What is your opinion on using original doors that have been rust repaired vs new doors? Working on a 67 mustang. Also who does the best on Reproduction doors?

  • @hmayerv8
    @hmayerv8 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very nice video mate. Great work. Problem I'm having is that I can't seem to find good quality seals for American classics. Some say metro is the best, some say Daniel Carpenter or whoever. They're all Chinese made as far as I'm concerned. So there are issues like one side seal is harder material than the other side. Then I have customers complain about the door seal at the bottom breaking away after a year of use. So as a restorer far away from USA, it's hard explaining to customers on the QC of these parts. Any ideas? Cheers mate.
