Just an FYI, if you want to keep the power and media on when exiting the driver's seat, you just press the physical play/pause button on the center console for 3 seconds. No need to go to the menu on the display.
Unfortunately this gives you only 10 minutes of additional time and you have to press again to continue.
I really don't like the fact that the 12V socket in the trunk is only powered up when the car's power is on, meaning that you can't keep, for example a powered cooler going when parked.

Great video! Enjoyed the Polestar intro!! Simple but leading edge all at the same time! Would certainly put a smile on my face as well! Good job Justin

I really enjoy mine. I had a 2021 Dual motor, now I have a 2024 Performance. I like the 2024 even more than the 2021.

Great review. I was wondering how it would be if you left it unplugged overnight from about 60 to 70 percent and then starting it up in the morning. Almost like you are simulating a shift worker getting into the car in the am after his/her night shift? What level would the battery be at?
    Thanks again.

Hey there, after testing a dozen or more electrics in the cold, I haven't noticed the battery level dropping if you just leave it outside in the cold, not plugged in.
You would want to leave it plugged in whenever possible if it's extremely cold, but if you don't, I wouldn't expect the battery to drain itself measurably, at least short term.
If you have a level 2 charger at home, you would awake to a full battery every single morning, even if it was empty when you plugged it in.
On a standard outlet, probably about 10 percent for each night you leave it plugged in. Maybe another 10% for each day you leave it plugged in too.
In extreme cold that will slow down by about half.
For me, even in extreme cold with a level 2 charger, it's no issue having a full battery every morning.
And I've noticed no issues if you don't charge in the cold either.
      Hope that helps

      Thank you.
I am originally from Thunder Bay, and now I live in Hamilton. Big difference in temperatures. We are looking at these electric cars in the future. One gas or hybrid and the other full electric.
Thank you for your reply and real-world testing.

I've owned a Chevy Bolt and a Polestar 2 and I generally only plug them in when the battery is below 70%. My winters may not be as cold as yours but even on winter days when the high is -7c I haven't noticed any battery loss in under 2 days.

Not bad but bit simple and outdated style if compared with the BMW iX with it’s very modern trends as frameless door windows and two spokes steering wheel.

The iX is ugly AF compared to the P2.
