I remember seeing them play this in Dublin in 1987. I also remember two teenage girls afterwards outside absolutely LIVID that John yawned during it. He yawned here too which goes to show it's just part of the act. In fairness...he only has to play a D note in the bass for a lot of the song, and we know how john likes to play that fretboard! Those kiddie teeny boppers are probably grandmothers now....Live is too fast sometimes!
Simon is a blazing young tiger here and his vocal is very close to the record furthermore the vocalist black woman had IT as much as the saxo player who was impressive !! groooaaaawwwr !!
@Mack Sarnie Heh, do you know how Warren joined the band? After "Live aid" in 1985, the band went into the studio to record what would become the "Notorious" album when drummer Roger Taylor (Not the Queen drummer with the same name) said that he would leave the band because of sheer exhaustion, so producer Nile Rodgers phoned up his Chic band mate Tony Thompson to do the smacking of the skins on the sessions, of course the band knew Thompson since he was also part of the Powerstation group and album. But during the sessions Andy Taylor also didn't feel like his heart was in it, so when he went to a performance of a band called Missing Persons who were also on the verge of breaking up, he told them that he had no intention of joining Duran Duran for the remainder of the sessions. At which Missing persons guitarist Warren Cucurullo got a glint in his eye. "So your spot in that band is open eh?" So the very next day Warren phoned up Duran Duran's management and offered his services and the rest is history.
@@RastaSaiyaman thank you so much for the backstory that's amazing!!! Nile Rodgers is the official 6th member of Duran Duran... he's been always behind their musical success.
He plays synth bass here and he learned to play it better over the years. He even knows how to play stand up bass as well as an electric guitar. Way talented!
The best band in the universe❤️❤️❤️🇮🇹
What an amazing an underrated song.
So Red The Rose - one of the most underrated albums of the 80s. Never get tired of it.
I love this song ❤️ but more importantly I love that John is apart of this version and how into it he is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

John Taylor on keyboard??
in other concert i saw he playing keyboerd
He’s playing bass synth rather than bass guitar
Nice. John is on bass keys
'something' is on this song expression
😙😙😙👀❤❤❤
Can anyone tell me what this song means, please?
Wish warren would return
My God John looks so hot here!
죤은 베이스가 아닌 무슨 악기를 연주하는 겁니까?
smouldering
Ok
john not playing the bass is a crime
I mean, he is technically...there’s no bass guitar on the original so he’s playing synth bass. Suits the feel of the song better imo.
He plays synth bass here and he learned to play it better over the years. He even knows how to play stand up bass as well as an electric guitar. Way talented!
Why is John Taylor playing keyboard too?!🤔
There is no bass guitar on this song. He's playing a bass synth.
@@foganewgon because John wasn't part of Acadia so no bass in this song. He was doing the power station at the time
Political song??
I loke warren, but simon dont
