- The Ten Commandments have long been held as the ultimate moral standard for mankind. These ten simple rules separate right from wrong. They teaching us how to obey and love our Creator as well as how to treat our fellow man. These ten rules set so high a standard, that even when falling short, those nations who have sought to implement them as founding principles have reaped immense rewards from doing so.
Yet today, we see the Ten Commandments being attacked, ridiculed or ignored altogether. Are these laws archaic and destined to fade into memory as a relic of ideals from a less progressive time? You may be surprised to discover the depth of wisdom found in these laws. Despite being given several millennia ago, these laws are not only still relevant today, but are necessary for building stable relationships with those around us and with our Creator.

If you don’t love Elohim you won’t keep them, or even want to. The Holy Spirit gives you the want to and power to, nothing is of ourselves.
The Holy Spirit comes to you when you confess you are a sinner and want to keep the 10 Commandments.(Living for God) It happened to me. Now the Holy Spirit reminds me when I am about to break one and if I obey I can keep them with God's help but if I don't obey the Holy Spirit and don't turn back or confess that sin and start obeying God again I will be lost.

I'm not understanding the 3rd commandment. The "emptiness" and "deceit"...Not sure what I'm not understanding, but I'm not....and since I found out that Saturday is the Sabbath, will I get in trouble because I have stopped going to church on Sundays? The calendar used today in the world is not same calendar God uses. God's calendar (the sacred calendar) begins the day at sunset or sundown as some call it and ends at sunset or sundown

The law of Love may be difficult to see, if you take Satan's point of view.
That is because Satan thinks that life is scary and cruel, but Satan is projecting his own fear and cruelty onto life.
Satan is what makes life scary and cruel, not life itself.
Life is kind, life is beautiful, life is benevolent and wise; but Satan is not.
Satan creates the havoc, the confusion, the conflict, the negative feelings, the limitation and the fears that make up the human condition; the human dilemma.
How difficult it is to be a human being, but it is only because of Satan that this is so.
Without Satan we would be deeply in Love with life, and all we would see is Love and benevolence in life's grand design.

Serious question , what if you must work saturdays ? What should you do then ?
Pray and ask God to help you not work on Saturdays. Sometimes a different schedule can be worked out, but sometimes a person might have to get a different job. We must strive to obey God no matter the consequences.

Yes, the entire Old Testament is relevant for us today. That doesn't necessarily mean that every statute and judgment given to ancient Israel is required today.

Then turn to God and make sure you still practice the 5 the commandment. You don't follow God's law if others follow them.

@@way2girly The First table , with its first four commandments, Always comes first-Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, Mind, and strength...meaning, Supreme, overwhelming love for God always comes first...This is, as Jesus said, the FIrst and great commandment....
The second table with its last six, in which love for neighbor is expressed, has the 5th commandment of honoring parents....thus, showing that if your parents are leading you astray, than your FIRST duty is to honor God first, and your parents second...and yes, that might mean breaking away/separating from your parents, but honor to God always come first as per the First Table of the Ten Commandments...

Table 1: First, Christ promises to give you, as a gift, a tender, soft heart to Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength (see Jeremiah 31 and Hebrews 8, and Ezekiel 11)....and this is the First and great commandment....and then,
Table 2: Now because your love for GOD is so powerful and all-consuming in your heart from Table 1, it automatically compels you (by the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit who will bring your thoughts in captivity to the will of Christ) to show that same all consuming love to your fellow man-this is the love your neighbor as yourself part...
therefore, you will have unconsciously, as Jesus said "let your light (the light of His righteousness which He has kindled within you) so shine before men, that they might see your good works (the good works which are joyfully and automatically produced from a heart where Christ reigns supreme) and glorify your Father who is in heaven"--because it is not YOU doing it, but Christ who lives in you by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit...
Thus, all God's ten commandments are really = PROMISES, promises of what He Himself has already done for us in Christ, if we simply have Faith in Him....
And because this Agape Love is so, consuming, and never-ceasing, it is verily as God calls it in Romans 13 "coals of fire" and that's why Paul says "agape love is the fulfilling of the law" and why GOD who IS Love, is called "A Consuming Fire" in Hebrews 12--and finally, this why Deuteronomy 33 says this about when God spoke the Ten Commandments "The Lord rose up from Paran and shined forth from Seir unto them....He came with ten thousands of His saints and from His hands went forth a FIERY law for them...." thus, revealing that Christ had descended upon Sinai with thousands of holy angels and spoke the law of God in His own voice-see Galations 3 and Acts 7...
Because one of the meanings of Fire in the bible Is love--and that's what Jesus meant in Luke 12 "I've come to send Fire on earth, and what will I if it be already kindled?" This fire, the fire of the Love of God was already kindled/or manifested through the teachings and writings of His prophets throughout the scriptures , and this fire would be seen in even Greater clarity when Christ, the great Light/Fire Himself came, and revealed to all the universe such a revelation and manifestation of the love/character of God such as NEVER was seen before...and this great fire of the pure love of God would ignite another Fire: the fire of hate, a backlash of satanic hatred and jealousy of those who reject Christ against those who love and cling to Jesus, thus turning men against one another...this is the Sword Jesus said He came to bring...."I have come not to bring peace on the earth, but a sword"....

Law and punishment was against harmful behaviour. But law and punishment could not stop harmful behaviour. Serving the law was from "the flesh" and was impotent and weak through "the flesh". Thus law was "death". Love was from "the Spirit" and was potent and strong through the Spirit. Thus Love was "life". Law is against harm but it cannot stop harm. Love produces good and it stops harm. That's why those who are love need no law.

Very good message. The only disagreement is that God and LORD aren't names. They are titles of his name. The Father's name is Yahweh. Some may say Jehovah in English. Abusing his actual name is taking his name in vain. Even the Son of God, Yahshua, or Jesus is taking the name in vain as well. Because he came in his Father's name.

how do you honor your parents when mom- has turned away from god, is in lack mindset, and refuses to change? i live with her and shes a mess and its weighing on me big time. nothing i say sinks in./then my father- who is totally against god refuses to listen. he lives in another state as me. we talk via messenger and that's it. i do my best but at the same time i want to block one and leave the other but i have my own boat/mess im in and working on myself to become the woman god intended me to be.

I don't think that the Sabbath and Saturday is the same day. The Sabbath starts at sunset, while Saturday starts at midnight. Even though the time period of each day overlap, the fact is they are two different days

The Sabbath starts Friday sunset until Saturday sunset. Sunday is the first day of each week.
TW does believe that the Sabbath is from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday. They have a booklet and telecasts on that very subject.
In bible times the day started at sundown so Saturday actually started at sundown on what we call Friday at sundown. So from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday is the seventh day sabbath. See Gen chapter 1. The evening and the morning was the first day etc.
I am a Christian and do not worship idols and even bow down to carved images of gods & goddesses. ( I don't believe such evil images).

Sunday worship is not meant to replace Saturday holiness. But because it represents the day Jesus resurrected, it has a further holiness to be celebrated.

God is certainly a title, and it is also appropriate to use it when referring to Him. Jesus referred to God many times: Mark 7:8, 9, 13 (these were in Greek), but He also did so in Aramaic: Matt 27:46
