      @@wickedbg hello guys, I have a VW Crafter 2006 model. For me was bigger problem. The injectors was stayed open at idling (also during the downhill) and there was too many fuel at cylinders and this was very dangerous for pistons so I just repair the whole engine including injectors and DPF filter. HOPE that this is enouth and there is not further problem of the diesel pump that have the bad habit to destroy the injectors...

    Hi Eddie, thank you for this information just wanted to ask, was this smoke coming out of your exhaust or the engine bay? . Because mine is coming out of the engine bay.

    • @EddieEducation
      @EddieEducation  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The smoke was purely from the exhaust. If it's from the engine bay, you may have a stick EGR that is allowing oil to drop onto the flexi pipe between exhaust manifold and main pipe

      @@dacrispy5268 First thing I would do is look for oily leaks. Shine a light in and look to see for any splatter, especially around the exhaust manifold and flexi pipe. A bad EGR or PCV could cause oil to leak onto the hot exhaust and create smoke

    • @EddieEducation
      @EddieEducation  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@shakeeloniel8891a little black smoke at 3000rpm is normal, but if you get black smoke at standstill at all temperatures, that's more likely to be a more serious issue (turbo or injectors). The best thing to do is use a VCDS to diagnose it, but if that's not available, check when on the temp range you get the issue. If it's between cold and operating temp, it's likely to be the sensor.

    you checked the fuel sensor with vcds? you had any error on that sensor? i am asking you , because i have blue smoke at idle when its colder outside., but i have no error, and the sensor indicates the fuel temperature..but i am thinking , maybe it is decalibrated.

    • @EddieEducation
      @EddieEducation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is yours a PD motor? If so, there doesn't seem to be any error code that gets thrown by dodgy fuel temperature sensors on these.
      Do you get the blue smoke as soon as you start up, and does it go away once its up to temperature?

      @@EddieEducation hello, i get blue smoke when the car is on temperature when idle, cold no smoke nothing. No powerloss no strange sound. What can it be?

    • @EddieEducation
      @EddieEducation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johanja3091 Blue smoke when cold is often worn piston rings, blue smoke all the time is often valves. But not when cold, only when hot - that's odd.
      I'd start by changing the temperature sensor as it's the cheapest fix!
      It could be a worn out turbo, too - letting oil seep past when it's not active. Does your turbo make a lot of noise?
      Then, I'd check ignition timings and valves if there's no improvement.
      Something else to check - is your oil level too high? It could be burning that off that is causing the smoke, but that's normally throughout the rev range

      @@bencrosbie there's definitely an issue there. White smoke is often coolant burning, grey is fuel, and blue is oil...but it can be hard to say if it's only lightly smoking. Have you had your engine remapped? And what is the engine temperature like (and has it ever overheated?)

    • @bencrosbie

    Hi, I have an TDI New Beetle 1998, 1,9, and have the smoke problem but more to it, it has no power, it works like a regular diesel engine, any one who could help solve this problem with the power in the engine, thanks so much

    • @EddieEducation
      @EddieEducation  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@infocusproducciones3595the new Beetle is essentially a Golf under the bonnet. The loss of power sounds like the turbo is in limp mode. If it's smoking as well it may be a turbo hose leaking if you're lucky, or that the turbo has failed if you're not. I would check for fault codes on a VAG-COM device to diagnose the issue further.

      White smoke isn't a great sign. With luck, it could be oil from the engine build burning off if it was a really new engine or rebuild. Otherwise, it may be coolant burning if the head wasn't torqued correctly.
