I just finished baking these chocolate chip cookies and they are SOOO DELICIOUS!! It's perfectly crispy on the outside and very soft, moist on the inside :) I used the same recipe and made 22 'medium sized' chocolate chip cookies. Thank you so much for the delicious recipe!
I have tried so many cookie recipes over the last year and a half. This is by far my absolute favourite and best one I have tried. It’s easy and delicious and will now be my go to
Hi John, I made these for a school dance, and everybody absolutely LOVED them! I was getting compliments the entire time I was there. It really helped my self-esteem (and everyone else's taste buds)!
WOW, JUST WOW!!! My very first time making cookies from scratch, and I followed this recipe. I used white chocolate chips instead. My family and I loved them. I couldn't believe they came out the way they did. THEY WERE PERFECT AND AMAZING!!! Here I am about to make more 2 days after using chocolate chips lol. Thank you sooooo much Preppy!
John, when you slide items away from you on the counter, have any ever landed on the floor? I am always waiting on a crash and the sound of breaking glass, especially when it’s the flour jar. Thanks for always having such great content and for recommending the vanilla…it’s so good.
I love seeing how differently we bake around the world! No one eats cookies and milk where I'm from. We have tea and biscuits and in general we don't have chewy cookies - they're usually crunchy or almost powdery if they're soft. The closest thing I've seen to this receipe in texture is peanut butter cookies. I'm going to try these over the holidays, they do look good :)
I just made these cookies and they are fantastic. Thank you! These satisfied a week-long craving I’ve had for some chocolate chip cookies. John’s recipes never disappoint.
@@melodyharrison2644 They were just right. Slightly crispy on the outside and soft and chewy inside. I froze overnight before baking, perhaps this helped in making them soft and chewy?
10/10 loved this recipe with my own additions, turned out GREAT. ADDITIONS AND CHANGES: i 100% recommend using cake flour or adding in baking powder along with the baking soda. (3/4 tsp) I also just browned the butter instead of using softened butter, you can also just melt it in the microwave. used 1 cup of JUST dark brown sugar. def cut the sugar amount otherwise it would be WAY to sweet. added a teaspoon of espresso powder for an extra nutty flavor. added 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to the dry ingredients.
I love how all your recipes are so simple and on point. I used this recipe twice to bake cookies after two epic cookie failures and turns out this was everything i've been looking for

Perfection! My mom always said that the secret to her amazing chocolate chip cookies was to cream the butter and sugar very well. They were crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, even the next day!

I tried these for the first time last month and they are delicious. I substituted Butter vanilla emulsion for the vanilla flavoring, and added 2 drops of creme bouquet! They are amazing! I have made many batches of cookies after finding your channel a month ago, more than I have made in the past 30 yrs. I have been making your cookies for our games night and everyone devour them quickly. They now refer to me as the cookie lady thanks to you! Love all your recipes.
People need to understand that the butter temperature plays a major factor in if your cookies come out cakie, chewy, crunchy, soggy, if the butter is melted, softened, cold or room temp, microwaved melted butter also changes the final product. Also, baking soda v baking powder, how good your flour is that you're starting with. If you Google it, you can find a chart that shows all the variations that take place when all these factors are taken into account. Those that had cakie, or too soft cookies in the past, unfortunately had a recipe that was slightly different than the one above or they decided to substitute ingredients or processes. Please follow his recipe to the letter, you will have a fantastic cookie.

I had to leave a comment because these cookies are so delicious! It’s my absolute favorite. I’ve tried multiple chocolate chip cookies that had millions of views, but no of those beat this recipe. This one is crispy outside & soft chewy inside which my husband & I like. It’s not over flavored with the flour, cakey & has the perfect amount of sweetness! These reviews don’t lie. If you’re wondering if it’s good, it’s that good!
I've been waiting for you to make this recipe!! I'm so so SO in need of tasty chocochip cookies recipe to mark my "better-mood" mode! I am so blessed to have found your channel. I never could make good cookies. You have taught me all the tips and tricks. Thanks, also, the cake things that go around the cake pan, I bought some. Hey John, thanx for the recipe! I tried the cookies and they were delicious but way too sweet for us. What should I do to make them less sweet without altering the texture? I assume that just significantly less sugar would result in completely different dough which I would liek to avoid. Thank you for your help and keep with your fantastic work!

I'm just gonna say I just got back from the store with all the ingredients, and now this is the 4th video in a row I've watched about chocolate chip cookies. This is the first video that just jumps right into it with ingredients, amounts, process & procedure, etc. I really appreciate that.
@@raihanjabeir6989 If you have molasses, add some to the same amount of white sugar. For this recipe use 1&1/2 cups white sugar and add 1 Tbsp molasses
Made these for the family and it took some convincing that I actually made them. They didn’t believe I could make something this good. Thank you for making this video.
2023, by far this is a good recipe with a great result with not much drama in the recipe. I did not use a mixer, just melted the butter, and used 65 percent dark chocolate buttons. I like that it isn't that overpowering sweetness. I've tried other recipes, and this is just perfect! Thanks 😊
I would do everything the same way except the last couple of steps. Don't use pre-bagged chocolate chips. They aren't great chocolate and they don't melt as well. An ingredient is added to chocolate chips to keep their shape and prevent easy melting. It has a slightly waxy taste. Get some good quality chocolate and chop it up yourself. That way you can also use two different kinds of chocolate or even three if you want to really go to town. If you're looking for a traditional chocolate chip cookie in appearance, use chips but chopping up your own chocolate yields a cookie that tastes so much better. I usually get a great quality semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate and about a third as much good quality milk chocolate to vary the taste and texture. You get different size pieces of chocolate, some little bits that melt and some bigger pieces that give you small pools in the cookie. I don't use the mixer when I add the chocolate chips to avoid overmixing and developing gluten. John's chocolate chip cookie recipe is great (with the addition of hand chopped chocolate). It's easy, comes together quickly and yields great cookies. When I want to bake special extravagant cookies I use a recipe modified from smitten kitchen. It's the one that calls for discs or feves of chocolate and very big cookies, so you get three different textures in each cookie. It's called the "Consumate Chocolate Chip Cookie revisited." You get crispy, chewy and soft all in the same cookie. You don't have to use Valrhona feves as the recipe calls for (expensive chocolate discs) but if you can, they're amazing. You'll want to eat them out of the bag. That's the kind of chocolate you want in your cookies, something you find delicious. My modification is to use great quality chocolate and hand chop it rather than the extremely expensive vahlrona discs. If I can get a different kind of quality chocolate disc I will use it. I'm also a fan of different kinds of chocolate especially in a very big cookie. You don't have to make them that big, you can make them half the size if you want. The one thing you can't skimp on is the overnight rest in the fridge. It's necessary with a recipe like this one. As John has pointed out, you can make the cookie balls and put them in the freezer, bake up as many as you want and they come out terrific. I do that with the other recipe also if I'm not making the whole batch and giving them to a friend.

Hi, I’m late to this thread but I’ll give it a try. How did they come out after not chilling them?
This is seriously the best recipe! Ive made this quite a few times. Its a hit in our house.
Hey preppy!! Love love love your baking n everything we love your food!!! My grandkids are getting these cookies today.
I’m so glad I came across this video as one of the first ones, it’s really in the details y’all! I brought two cookies to fiance and he came back wanting more and said it was 10/10😅 made my day!
Definitely going to try these! This is by far my favorite cooking/baking channel! 🥰
Best chocolate chip cookie recipe EVER!!! I've tried so many, but this one is so good and definitely my favorite!
I'm just 1/4 out of depressive mode for at least a month and I wanna munch on homemade cookies for personal satisfaction! Thank you! Thank you so much! Will be making it this week!
Made these cookies today, so delicious and easy to prepare 🙂. Thank you for the recipe!
Perfect for December! Thinking about warm cookies and a cup of milk during the holidays gets me so excited ❤️
I used this recipe to make snickerdoodle cookies. All i did was use fall spices in the dry ingredients. Didnt have any baking soda, so i used baking powder, and put lemon juice in with the wet ingredients.
Sooo delicious!
I am so blessed to have found your channel. I never could make good cookies. You have taught me all the tips and tricks. Thanks, also, the cake things that go around the cake pan, I bought some. Brilliant! I just wish I knew how to keep my pie crust from rising in the middle when I pre bake it. I poke holes in it but I still get bubbles.
Omg these look so good! I haven’t baked in a while due to school but when I have the time I will do these.
I made these cookies with my daughter and niece and let me tell ya. They are delicious they finished in less than one hour.
John -we love watching your videos! Great job on a classic.
My family loves it every time I make these cookies. Thank you so much for sharing. Honestly I’ve made cookies plenty of times in my life, but they never turned out like these, and these are amazing!!!
I inly use your recipes because they are always the best. In the past i tried others but nothing is ever as good or as easy as yours are. Thank you for the perfect cookie! Your double chocolate chip cookie is my absolute favorite!
I am definitely trying these! Do you have a good recipe for Snikerdoodles? Love to see you make some :)
Yes he does! It’s the best snickerdoodle cookie ever 😋
How many cookies does this make? I looked through the comments but couldn’t find it anywhere
the recipe in the caption is for 32 servings !!
Preppy Kitchen, every time I bake I use your recipes and feel guilty taking credit lol everyone loves everything I’ve made from you!! I have to confess that yes I made it from scratch, but you are the master who shared his knowledge 😂
I never baked cookies at all I always messed them up until I started watching you ❤🌹 thank you for actually telling is how much to put in or take out lol other people don't do this and it's a guessing game and ur bake goods never come out right now I make something new every week my hubby loves all the goodies
0:19 “hmm perfect” 😂
I made these last night & ohhhhh my gosh! So much better than my regular chocolate chip cookie recipe from the back of the butter box! I’m treating these like the delicious fabulous morsels they are and savoring every bite. 💜
Noo lol never use the "back of the box" recipes of anything!! They're so basic and bland.
4:11 hi, love your recipes, i would love to see the salted caramel cookies recipe. Once i bought the betty crocker mix and my dad fall in love of those cookies but i haven’t found them again in the stores, here in Mexico , so i search in the web but i haven’t found nothing, so im sure that your recipe of those cookies its sure delicious, thank you for Sharing all you’re recipes, merry christmas 🎄!!! I turned This into cupcakes and they were DELICIOUS!!
I’ve made choc. Chip cookies for years, but these were far and away the best! I love watching John’s videos-he’s so positive and enthusiastic instilling confidence in us all. And these cookies were amazing! Thx!!! I’m a big fan.
My cookie idea…..Custard Creams! They’re a classic cookie here in the UK where I live, we call cookies biscuits over here! Although I don’t, I prefer the word cookie! We grew up with them, a lovely sandwich cookie…..thanks for another gorgeous recipe John, this will now be my chocolate chip cookie recipe xx💕✨xx
I just watched someone eating a Linzer Cookie on a vlog the other day. I would love to see your take on those cookies, Jon! Happy Holidays to you, Brian and the boys!
Best recipe ever, I’ve always hated making chocolate chip cookies… I was never happy with taste. These are the best, they even looked pretty. Thank you for sharing ❤
This recipe came out perfect! This will be my go-to from now on. Thank you.
Yummy. Love it. I could actually smell it from my phone. ❤
Not sure if you've made these already but butterscotch oatmeal cookies are amazing!
Those look delicious! Our children and grandchildren will be over this weekend for our annual “make/decorate a gingerbread house “. So much fun, I may have to make your chocolate chip cookies for them. I would like to see how you make Ginger Snaps.
He actually does have a video on gingersnap cookies! It's from about a year ago
Omg this recipe is soooooo good I make it for a lot of people and my guests and they love it I have bin making this recipe for about 6 months now I love it. Thanks for the great recipe.
I'm just gonna say I just got back from the store with all the ingredients, and now this is the 4th video in a row I've watched about chocolate chip cookies. This is the first video that just jumps right into it with ingredients, amounts, process & procedure, etc. I really appreciate that.
Is brown sugar a must ??
@@raihanjabeir6989 If you have molasses, add some to the same amount of white sugar. For this recipe use 1&1/2 cups white sugar and add 1 Tbsp molasses
Made these for the family and it took some convincing that I actually made them. They didn’t believe I could make something this good.
Thank you for making this video.
I’d love for you to bake red velvet cookies, soft ones with white chocolate chips! 🥰🙏🏼
I’d love to request a Levain styled cookie that doesn’t require cake flour, love your videos!!!
You can make a cake flour by mixed a one cup of all purpose flour with a 2 tablespoons of corn flour
2023, by far this is a good recipe with a great result with not much drama in the recipe. I did not use a mixer, just melted the butter, and used 65 percent dark chocolate buttons. I like that it isn't that overpowering sweetness. I've tried other recipes, and this is just perfect! Thanks 😊
This came out great for me. I added 1 tablespoon of organic cocoa processed with alkali for a deep brown color.
When I get a notification that you have uploeded a video, my happy time begins 📸❣️🍊♥️🥳😘🥰🤩❤️...
So true😭😭❤️
Your recipes are great !! But I wonder how many jars you broke sliding them 😂
I would do everything the same way except the last couple of steps.
I’ve tried so many recipes and they didn’t work then I tried yours and IT WAS AMAZING , Thank you so much 💕
Will dark brown sugar be okay to substitute for the light brown sugar? 🤔
Excuse me sir, why did my batter turn pink 💀💀
what did you put in it lol?
Bro did you cut yourself
Lol
mine turn liquid🔥
I really love all of your recipes. It would be nice if you could do a fruitcake recipe since Christmas is coming up soon.
