The 80s. Had some terrific voices come on the scene. Morten Harket with a-ha comes to mind for terrific range and strong vocals. Hmmm, Tony & Morten in concert? What an 80s pairing, two of the BEST!
Tony Hadley is pure class and the band is fantastic. He deserves all the recognition as this is better musically than when he fronted Spandau Ballet and we are lucky.

i watched a clip of their new singer recently and it was like they were trying to fit 98 degrees boyband type look/singer into their lineup. didn't hate it but i didn't want to embrace it either.

Spandau is great with all members together, definitely, but Tony can sing Gary's songs without the original band members (even though I feel Tony's band is inferior to the original members) and still make it, but the original band cannot do it without Tony's voice, unfortunately. It is a pity these childhood friends cannot work together anymore because people tend to accept them if they do things together. And that is why SB can't make it without Tony and Tony can't make it as a solo artist singing other songs, despite his great voice and stage presence, At least, Tony is earning more as a solo act and Gary is reaping all those royalties for his songwriting.

I wish bands that started out as childhood friends coming together musically could remain intact like U2 by allowing members to have the freedom to do some of their dreams on their own and then coming back together to tour as the original band. There has to be a compromise.
Tony Hadley, the king of vocals in the 80's still sounding good today. Queen of 80's vocals, step forward Alison Moyet. Imagine the two of them performing together.
You have great voice and fantastic rithmics integrated in the band.. We enjoyed a magnificent live performance in Padova! The Band is really Great and obviously Tony is The King and we appreciated new and old songs.. So full of energy! Bravissimi Tutti

I love Tony Hadley...His voice and his charisma are superb. However, it is interesting that he still sings Gary Kemp's songs after the breakup and all.
Like all the other comments here, Tony is wonderful, and his band is great too, especially the girl. But, I wish it was the original Spandau Ballet that I was watching here.
I saw his Event in Florence a couple of weeks ago.. His voice did not change still spectacular and what a great voice Lily Gonzalez has. Great concert in Florence. He is the gratest singer and frontman. And we miss Spandau Ballet time...!!
