RISE AND FALL OF SELATI MALE LIONS - LIONS THAT ENDED THE MAPOGO REIGN IN SABI SAND GAME RESERVE

- Selati Male Lions were born into The Selati/Southern Pride of Lions from Sabi Sands Game Reserve. They were sired by The Golf Course Males. They lost their first brother in a battle with The Majingilane Male Lions in 2011.
They challenged Infamous Mapogo Coalition of Male Lions in early 2012 and successfully took over the western Sabi Sands.
Another member died after getting injured during a buffalo hunt in 2013.
The coalition lost another member to The Majingilane Male Lions in 2014 while defending their territory.
Remaining 2 brothers were banished and they went North into the Manyeleti Game Reserve. They took over Talamati Pride and sired cubs with them.
4th member of the coalition passed away in February 2017.
Last remaining Selati also passed away at the end of 2017.
Their legacy lives on through their daughters and sons.
Their 2 sons are in Kruger National Park nowadays.
This is an educational video covering the history of a Lion Coalition named "The Southern/Selati Coalition" which is widely considered for ending the Mapogo Reign from Western Sabi Sands.

They sedated Mr T, making it easy for the selati coalition to kill kinky tail and hopefully Mr T, but Mr T fled back to his brothers, outsmarting the rangers so they actually got their rifles and took out Rasta and pretty boy and let the coalition to finally kill off Mr T. Mapogo lions were serial killers man. Loved they could reign more but they were killing off the lion population.

Mapogos did all the hard work, before any of these coalitions came along, they wiped out all the competition, all these coalitions had to do was beat them to get all the territory
As it was makhulu & MR T took on these boys to pull a fighting pretty boy out & still had plenty of fight & Never will a coalition have the feirceness the Mapogo's had & even when there fathers the West street Males entered sabi sands after the fence beeen taken to kruger they took down many coalitions of big Males, This Bloodline was Raw powered Muscle with extreme aggression something that I believe since the Mapogo's we will never see again

Rob the Ranger just said to me the other day that besides the Talamati cubs the 2 that are with the Selatie pride now and I guess their daughters in the Talamati pride I guess they were successful with 2 females and one male lions from the Ximungue pride sorry for the misspelling I don't know exactly how you spell it but it is the other pride the Mapogos had at the end, but the Selatie sons they had with the prides they took over from the Mapogos they did not all die to hyenas or the Magingilanes ; like I said Rob the Ranger said 1 male and 2 females grew up into adulthood. But one female died already and the male lion went deep into Kruger. He also said the last surviving female had a cub. I just thought you might wanted to know this intresting information I didn't know about.

@@TA-jf7yq well Mr.T is their uncle, because the parents of the Selatie males lions were Golfcourse male lions, and the Golfcourse male lions were 5 but 3 went into Kruger and 2 stayed in Sabi Sand with the Selatie pride and had these 5 Selatie male lions well like the vedeo said one was killed as a sub adult to the Magingilanes. The Golf Cours male lions were the half brothers of the two younger Mapogos Mr.T and Kinky Tail, because the fathers were it is speculated the fathers were the Rollercoster male lions of both Mr.T and Kinky Tail, and they were fathers of the Golfcourse male lions. So they were half brothers cousins they were related through the Rollercoster male lions who were half brothers of the older Mapogos that stayed in the West. The Rollercoster male lions and the older Western Mapogos were both sons of the West Street male lions. The Selaties also killed Mr.Ts brother his little brother from the Sparta pride he was born after Mr.T left. Cleo he is also son of the Rollercoster male lion, and born in the Sparta pride like Mr.T and the Selaties also killed him. I tought you might of wanted to know.

Selati males did in fact at least drive off the Majingilanes in a 2 vs 3 battle after one of the Selati males was injured by the Majingilanes. It was only until the injured Selati died after the final battle with the Majingilane, that 2 vs 4 was too much. It's a shame the Selati could not rule longer, as they were very good looking and impressive male lions.

Majigilanes were the smartest kings, they outmnuvered everyone, that's why they had the longest reign.

Makhulu was easily a greater lion. He put the Mapogos together, and he whipped Mr T's ass 1v1. Mr T gets overrated quite a bit because of his aggression, but the truth is he was the smallest and weakest of the Mapogos

The Selati did not end the Mapogo reign they just killed Mr T, makhulu and Pretty Boy lived on in fact makhulu the king of the mapogo lived until he was 14..I know you already know this so i don't why the title of this video is what it is because it's not true !
Selatis ousted the last 2 Mapogos, effectively ending their reign as The Kings. After that, The Mapogos were never able to control any area and died as nomads. That's why The Selatis were the ones to end the 6 year long illustrious reign of The Mapogos.

It wouldve been a battle if the Selatis fought the 4 Mapogo bros head on, 4 on 4. They were smart enough to snuck up on Kinky and Mr T. Age ended the Mapogos......in their prime the Mapogos dominate the Selati's, Birmingham's, Majingilane's, Matimba's, ETC......I know, I know they 4 on 1'ed MR.T and killed him. T was old and used up. T/KT/Rasta/Dread/Mak/PB would have scattered their(Selati's) blood in the Sabi Sand. The Majingilane's had it easy because the Mapogos had taken out most lions, there was nothing left at the moment of the Majingilane's ascent, that were really aggressively wanting territory. Fact: The Mapogos in even numbers defeated every lion coalition faced, they NEVER lost a fight. And several times T/KT repelled the Majingilane(2 Mapogos repelling 5 Majingilanes) before KT died at the hand of the Majingilanes also 4 on 1 might add, July 2010, while MR.T was darted.......Selati's=mid-level lion Coalition.

Makhulu was the one fighting the resident male(s) 1v1 when they were still young upstarts. Kinky tail and Mr. T also fought all invaders regardless of numbers.
