I binge watched this whole series over the last two days off and on. Ive got a 97 tj I just did freeze plugs on with 231,000 miles and the head has never been off. I drive it from bakersfield california to Phoenix az every month. LOVE my 4.0! Awesome work!
Nice job Dale , looks really good in the engine compartment . Looking forward to your next video . Until next time take care and have a great weekend .
¡Nice!, bro. I rebuild mine a couple of months ago, seing your other videos man. The best satisfaction is when you finally get it started and hear that .242, 4.0L, 6i running like new and better than ever. Congratd broo! and thanks for the vids.
I'll be getting those engine mounts the next time I change them out, might be awhile because I just swapped them out at the beginning of the year, before you changed them on Jason's YJ... Besides they are "currently unavailable" on Amazon right now...
That ratchet is currently out of stock. When I was installing my 4.0 and needed something like that, I went to Home Depot and got a Husky 3/8 in. Flex-Head, Extendable Ratchet SKU #1001383476. A bit more than what I wanted to pay; but, it made a lot of things a lot easier. It is worth it. The ratchet in the video looks like the Husky one; but, I guess not.
I know this has nothing to do with your video but I want a trusted opinion on the yj trackbar removal subject. Should I keep the factory trackbar or remove it because it is “not needed” like most people say? Thanks!
Is it easier to do it the way you did it in the video rather than already having the mounting brackets bolted to the vehicle already? If so, why? I'm installing a new engine in my 96 Grand Cherokee and there's more bolts on the mounting brackets that mount to the car itself.
I'm looking to replace my cylinder head but I can't find any with good reviews and the only one that I know is good is $1900 . Do you recommend any brand that you trust?
Great work. I challenge anyone to find a more complete series online for the 4.0
Good challenge. Haha
Good luck 😂😂 ill give someone a 100 bucks if they can

Haha. That's awesome! Thanks.
When the time comes I plan on doing a 4.6 stroker and going through these vids for some guidance.
Nice. This episode reminded me of an old shade tree mechanic episode.
Yeah, Kinda does. Cool!
Really enjoyed watching. Mesmerising, some would say.
Haha! Thanks!
Nice Dale! Looks good in there!
Thanks man!
Congrats on getting the engine in!
Thank you! Start up soon!!
Always look forward to your videos thank you
Thank you! I appreciate it.

Thanks! Just a bit more to do before we fire it up!!
Wow. That's amazing. I feel like it was just yesterday when you pulled it. Great job.
Haha. Feels like it's been forever to me. But getting it done 👍
If you go back and watch were he pulled it out it will feel like he put it back in before he pulled it out !
Another great video Dale!
Thank you!

Great job getting the engine in, without any help.
Thanks Gordon
Woohoo!

They are good ones 👍

Yeah, it's a great tool to have. Gets me out of difficult situations 👍
Which video show the disconnecting the wiring harness, fuel rail and that sort of thing? I need to reverse engine that portion for my engine swap.
I show that in one of my earlier episodes. I can't look right now, but it's there.
@@JeepSolid I tried to find it but could not. Of course, I am at work.

My preference is to leave it. It adds some stability to the axle.
My jeep is 6” lifting can I use the sein mount for

It's easier to leave them off until the engine is in. The design of the passenger mount makes it hard to get into position.
@@JeepSolid great! Thanks for the help.
What manuals have you used and/or referenced for this build?
How to rebuild 4.0 amzn.to/31rbMaR

I haven't had to buy aftermarket heads. Been lucky so far... can't rebuild it?
@@JeepSolid they charge me almost the cost of a new aftermarket one
Love your vids. How’s the finger lol
Thanks! Fingers feeling much better. Was pretty sore and swollen for a good week. Lesson learned. Haha 😂
What would you guess was the man hours and cost for this rebuild? Thank you
I'll have to add them up. Maybe do a time and cost video.. ?
Nice mounts if you like horrible vibrations.
If getting vibration, you should talk to Brown Dog. There's things to check.
