Been thinking about doing a rebuild on my 2000 TJ and these videos made me feel much more comfortable with the process. Only problem is, I just binged all 30 and was super excited to see the crank, when I realized I caught up to real time. Now I’m waiting with bated breath.
A lot of Jeep radiators crack at around 150K miles. Mine was clean and working perfectly and then the top tank cracked at 140K. The tanks are plastic so I would replace it now. You can tell by looking at it that it's had heating problem by the dirty fluid stains on it.
I see the mount for ac compressor - has it been removed? Asking because I want to remove mine (95 i6) - can I just reroute as the Fan shroud indicates and go with a shorter belt? They sell an ac bypass pulley but I’d rather keep the engine bay as simple as possible - if possible?
It kinda seems pointless, but it’s actually an important piece of your cooling system. It helps direct air from the fan to your radiator. Increasing your engine cooling capacity.
Hey dale.Ive got an issue im hoping you can help me with on my 98tj. 4.0. Im getting a hanging idle when im shifting gears, the Rpms dont rise but they dont fall when pressing clutch to shift,i have to help them down with the clutch...When sitting still at idle and rev it , rpms comes back down like normal, also when i start the jeep it seems to be fine also. Mainly when im shifting.Almost positive it not a vaccume leak.I sprayed around the motor and check all vac lines. No issues there.Im kinda thinking its TPS sensor.Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated before i go replacing parts.lol Thanks
Oh man. Gremlins like that can be tough. It sounds like you are on the right track. I'd be checking vacuum and sensors as well. Could be as simple as tps.
Did your Rad hoses have an internal spring to prevent it from collapsing? I’ve heard some vehicles have them and to make sure to change/check them for corrosion
Hey Dale: quick question if you have time. I have a 91 Sahara and need a new transmission (AX-15) Will any 91 and beyond YJ AX-15 transmission work? Thanks for the help
Wow, #30 for this project. Nice!! Keep ‘em coming!! Getting closer to that first crank over.
So close! Thank you.

Haha! That's awesome! Stay tuned...
It's like waiting for the next season of a show on Netflix. Lol 😂
Don't you hate that feeling? I'm caught up? Noooooo! But really, everyone's been watching this for a year, so you're actually pretty lucky.
Great video Dale! Excited for the start up!
Thanks! Me too
Looking good, anxious to hear it run!
Cool! Thank you.
Thank you! Me too.
Getting so close Dale . I'm looking forward to your start up video . I was going to say air filter also .Until next time take care .
Thanks 👍🏼 Super close
love your videos. keep up the good work :) greetings from slovenia :)
Thank you! I appreciate it.
It’s nice watching you work and not afraid to show little mistakes we all do. Would have been easier to put on the drive belt before the grill.
Thank you. True, should have put the belt on first. Would have been a little easier.
It's true, he's just a mere mortal
Coming along, lookin good.
Thank you!
Great! It’s almost done!
Almost! hang in there. LOL
Great job looking forward to your videos
Thank you!

Was the thing that you left out the air filter

No. It wasn't removed. That is how these YJ's without AC came. Same bracket.
what will happen if it doesnt have a fan shroud? should i purchase one?

No internal spring. Just standard hoses.
The Jeep is coming together nicely! I was curious to ask you, what do you do for a living?
I'm thinking of making a video about that. Maybe have people guess... I don't know yet. Still hashing out ideas...
@@JeepSolid i say Police officer...
Wow, to have just a tenth of your knowledge
Just start wrenching, my man, you’ll get there
@@BroncoSolid Thank you!!! We'll try, but I'm not making any promises
Thanks David. Just trial and error. . I've made lots of mistakes. Haha!
You forgot to show us the bowling ball that matches your new shirt. Fan installation is a doozy too.
You know I am only teasing? LOL It is a nice shirt. Did you get an AMSOIL sponsorship? Do you have a discount code for AMSOIL?
Haha! Yeah. My family thought the same thing. LOL😂
Air filter?
Yes sir! Good eye
connecting exhaust
Heater hoses...
Yes, still need to attach them, but gonna use top one to fill engine with coolant.
You left the heater hoses.
Yeah, still need to hook them up, but going to use to fill with coolant.

I believe so, but not 100% sure.. Don’t want to give you wrong advice. I’d have to research more
heater core hoses! :-)
Yes. That too. Gonna use top one to fill coolant 👍🏼
Dale you think up a name yet for that rig
Not a good one yet..
airfilter
Yes sir!! Good eye. I was wondering if anyone would catch it. Happened so fast.
Air filter🤷🏻♂️
Yes! Right on. Not easy to spot. I ordered one. Good job!
Too many commercials,unsubbing!
I'm happy to make videos, but it does take a ton of work. Ads help compensate for hours of work. Sorry to see ya go.
