My 1947 Singer has a cord running from the machine through a hole in that piece on the right side. I see no way to remove it so if I have my machine serviced, I have to take the cabinet, too. Any way to detach that cord?
There is a new cord that can replace your old one that can be unplugged so that you can take your machine in for servicing. The receptacle just needs to be rewired to accept the new cord. When you bring it in for repair/servicing, just request the new cord. It is the same cord that a Singer Featherweight uses.
Buy the trolleys for your machine.
