[RF] - Evening Amtrak, NJ Transit, and PATH Trains at Newark Penn Station

- In this video, we'll watch a busy night of trains at Pennsylvania Station in Newark on April 28th, 2022. Due to a complete railroad shutdown between Newark and New York, no trains moved in or out for a one hour period, minus the unaffected Raritan Valley Line trains. Once the railroad opened, trains poured in from New York, some of which having the Pennsylvania Railroad and Erie Lackawanna heritage units. Enjoy!

those amfleet cars still fit on with the modern world. they are timeless
NJ Penn is on the Northeast Corridor, so there is no shortage of railfanning that can be done at this station! It is really great 😃

the infrastructure between here and manhatten is a rail / structure geeks dream! i never get tired of it. ive always thought in all my years in nyc rail stations and subways , that a simple powerwash would make most of these facilities look brand new. most of the dinginess comes from surface grit and grime.
@3:17 my Favorite Trainset The Keystone in push mode.some passengers call it the Train that Runs backwards..seeing the Cab Car in operations takes me back when it was the Original Full M.U Metroliner and the older Amtrak paint scheme..
That bell on the Ex-Metroliner cab reminds me of the 1987 AEM-7
I’ve never seen a train go northbound on track 3. Track 3 is mainly southbound traffic. Talk about rush hour

This might be the best train station to rail fan!! Great video. And doesnt putting a NB train on track 3 would cause more problems than solution. Every southbound train in america goes thru track 3 lol

Amtrack move fast but besides nj transit & metro north no other train move fast within inner city station stops

2:40 Why is the Amtrak Acela Express going backwards on the other side?
There was an issue east of Newark, and they fit as many Amtrak trains as they could in the station, so the Acela had to pull in on that track.

Usually track 3 is for Amtrak traffic headed south
