It is a privilidge to adore this song with only a very few fellow Thrice fans.
One of the best songs this band has ever written.
My wife and I played this song during the certificate signing at our wedding in Jamaica last week. It was perfect. A shame that more people don't know about this tune.
Every once in a while a song comes along for me that's perfect in every way. Even when I listen to music I like, I find myself saying things like: "I wish they'd cut this a little short" or "I wish they'd gone heavier here" or "I wish they changed the order of this". But, this song for me is absolute perfection from start to finish. It hits in all the right places, it pulls back in all the right places, and there's absolutely nothing I would change about this song. Lyrically, musically, emotionally, it just packs that cosmic punch to the gut that I crave when listening to music. There's absolutely nothing I would change about this. Utter perfection.
[Verse 1]
I was born to love you
I was born to love you
Palm to palm, breast to breast
Arm in arm, we're stumbling west
[Verse 2]
We skinned our hands
When we fell
We washed them in the deep wells
Limped our souls
We're bruised but blessed
Arm in arm, we're stumbling west
[Chorus]
And I was born to love you
I was born to love you
[Verse 3]
We danced beneath the moonrise
While stars are born in your eyes
Our rags are torn
Our hearts possessed
Arm in arm, we're stumbling west
[Verse 4]
And I was born to love you
I was born to love you
Palm to palm, breast to breast
Arm in arm, we're stumbling west
How did this song NOT make the final cut to be on Palms?
My brother and I both love Thrice, but every time they release new music, we always hate it the first few times listening to it. Something about the way they write always makes the music grow on me, though. I think that’s probably the most impressive thing about them. They are never stale.
That's how I felt with Blood on Blood and the Whaler, now those are 2 of my favorites
Ha they are one of my favorites and I get excited every time they release something because I know it will be different but I'll love it. Amazing how each album is so different but yet inherently Thrice.
@@Dsquaredforever yeah absolutely. Their music is strong and there are strong feelings in it,always.
I'm with you. Every album takes a couple listens before I feel the groove
I love songs that capture an emotion, and I think this one nailed it. I've been a fan since 2002 and this is one of my favs. Keep on rockin in the free world!
My favorite band since 2005. Always unbeatable. Can’t wait for two weeks for release of horizons/ east 🥰
If i could describe this song in one word it would be "elevating"! loved Palms and Deeper Wells. Instant classics from one of my favorite bands since I was a kid.

This track is intense! Love it! 💜
We will be carry on to listen you thrice so you carry on to make another splendid song.
The most libertarian set of songs on this EP I've heard from Thrice, by far. Good work by them.
Amazing!
ღმერთო შენ მიშველე
beautiful letters..
The 5 people that disliked this song… shame on you
where did this album come from?! this song should have been on Palms!
It's from the EP 'Palms - Deeper Wells', basically songs written/recorded the same time as Palms but didn't quite fit the feel of the rest of that album
💜💜💜💜💜💜
Red Dead Redemption: The Last Crusade
This could’ve definitely been on Beggars
We will be carry on to listen you thrice so you carry on to make another splendid song.
