Living vicariously through you, since you left for Hawaii, has been quite the experience. I can't wait until 3 years from now, with i retire and finally talk my wife and kids into the boat life. I will tell you, retiring in 3 years at the age of 45, will be far easier than talking my wife into this, but i have faith.

Hey james theres a 32 foot pearson vangaurd for sale in seattle for 12 thousand. It has a 4 -91 westerbeke diesel and its in great condition. I really can't think of a boat I would rather have. Its pretty much a larger version of tritea. I could buy it but I would be pretty much broke and have a moorage payment. I live in a motorhome that needs repair. Just thought Id let you know about the boat. The only thing wrong with it is that it dosen't have a dodger. The water in Monterey looks just like it does there.

    • @SailorJames

You may not be spiritual and that’s ok but what does luck have to do with your current situation? Sounds like years of hard work, sacrifice and planning made possible what your will determined to do..I dare say you are feeling “blessed” but don’t want to use that word, so luck is the substitute you chose. But I don’t believe in circumstances like yours being by chance. I see a man who’s dedicated years to pursuing his goals. That’s admirable.

Another great video but your words "luck had nothing to do with how I got here" rubbed me a bit wrong. I understand what you meant and you probably worked very hard to get to this point in your life, but, at the same time, luck does have a lot to do with it. There are tons of things that are beyond our control and to just dismiss all that sounds a bit arrogant. As an old salt, you should know better than to tempt our lady destiny with words like that :) Just my 2 cents.
