The Halloweekends show in the Red Garter never disappoints. Great video!

yeah I don’t do it for attention. In this case the shows I shot to date were to share with my friend who couldn’t go and who’s a big show goer. I could have shot the preview show the previous week from the front but didn’t feel like it. I paid attention to the blocking of the show. But really they block the HalloWeekends shows the same way and use the same songs. There’s opener, there’s group medleys, there’s just the girls, just the guys, always on the stairs (someone slid down it one season after the last show), out the door on the left, group finale and so on.
I’ve only shot from this post once. The second to last show of a completely live band with no backing track 2008 (recorded by the guy who wrote the shows who left after that season but writes the shows so there’s only two new songs and when he was here his neighbors knew which songs lol). Drums cams from behind the wall on the right from that season are on the channel.
Not too many people use a camcorder these days. Excellent camcorder but it’s hard to see thru the GUI that can’t be turned off. It makes it a challenge. I look at the edges of the frame. It’s fun to do though. The set design, lighting, costumes, performance is interesting to see thru a camera.
The zoom is really smooth. I don’t like to shoot stuff from the back too many heads in the way (there were other performers in the front this time so that was fun) but it gives me more of an opportunity to zoom. Zooming in & out too much can be a bit much to watch. Watch some of my old videos shot by the stairs. You can see everything going on. I call that game film like football game film is meant to show everyone at once to see what they’re doing. Performers like that but It’s not as engaging as up close and too many heads. But it sounds better because the your straight back from the loud speakers. I zoom in once in while up close when someone is on the stairs, belts or takes lead if I feel like it and have enough battery. Haven’t done that in a few years.
The lighting techs do a good job with these shows. That’s under appreciated. The only talent isn’t the talent on stage. Everyone always does a good job. They brought a lot of performers back from the Summer and previous seasons so they were up to speed.
I don’t feel like taping all the shows. But the Red Garter is sort of an obligation since it started there. Red Garter Summer and HalloWeekends is always the show most people want to see on TH-cam. It takes too much patience shooting and editing to do what my friend CoasterBob62 does shooting non-shows. Shows are easier. It’s what I would want to see if I couldn’t make it.
Glad you like the videos. Thanks for watching.
