i collect yugioh cards but a good strategy for yugioh is basically to just buy tons of brand new packs (the high value cards are on a card list that everyone sees) and then just grade the high value cards (everyone knows what they are) at PSA (or other), and it seems to me you would at least triple your profit or better (rough guess...but there is price history online anyone could look up) in both the short and long term, so if you buy $1000 of cards then you get $3000 or if you buy $10,000 you would get $30,000

@@TheComebackCardInvestor yea right, you never know... just like the guy who paid $50K and over paid for a PSA 10 Gretzky Rookie.... now its selling for $600K.
Great video, Brad! One of my favorite techniques, as I shift towards picking up pre-graded cards on Ebay (letting others do the physical/financial legwork for me already), is comparing the grade price sales e.g. 1996-97 Fleer Ultra Kobe Bryant PSA 10 = $1500 but his PSA 9 is going for $250, to me that represents crazy great value. As a seller, you'd want that PSA 10 price but as an investor/collector, that PSA 9 is 6x less and often times virtually identical in appearance to the PSA 10.
you nailed it, David. Disparity is the name of the game. Finding the holes, seeing what doesn't add up and jumping on it. That is the excitement for wierdos like us! ;)

@@robdemare8250 Just seeking opinions seems over priced and hyped as I could get a Walter Payton RC 8 for a similar price as a 10 Mahomes. Just a fan of Mahomes
If you're a fan of Mahomes that's one thing. I would wait for Mahomes to slump It's going to buy in. When everything is going well for one player....it's bound to end at some point, even if it's after the season if he wins another SB. R Wilson saw his prices soar when he was rolling then tank very quickly as he and the Seahawks lost a few games. Both are great guys and solid cards, I would just wait for a low point, especially for Mahomes. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Disagree if you slightly overpaid for Lebron rookie that's rarely seen 5 years ago I'm sure your fine today! Depends what your buying! Blue Chips! You have to pay up to get these Blue Chip & rare cards out of the collectors hands! You can't get nothing for nothing!!
I agree with overpaying being worth it sometimes. However, just waiting for LBJ to get eliminated or slump etc could be a much better buying time to get that card at a 20% discount. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Scotty!
Hey CRCC! Likewise. I don't follow baseball, but wouldn't mind investing in some easy blue chips right now. Prices are low and basketball/football has stolen the show. Also, don't be so sure about "sure things." For your Anthony Davis example, he could easily get injured and be the next Derrick Rose (compare prices from 2011 to now). What's that? Derrick Rose never won a championship? Ok, Dwyane Wade. Did nothing wrong, won two more championships, but his cards still haven't reached the highs of his first championship run when he was at times considered better than Kobe. From someone who's learned some expensive lessons, any time you spend more than a grand on a non-HOFer, you're taking a risk.
Good point, Trollerskater. There's a spectrum of risk. MJ/Lebron/Brady/Gretzky are pretty much the standard any everyone else starts from a tier down. AD would be a few notches lower and then Lillard a notch below that. The odds that they will be back to play at a high level is in their favor even if they miss a half year to year. Hopefully, there aren't any more Klay Thompson-like situations. He's a perfect example of that high risk due to injury. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

@@TheComebackCardInvestor thing is there’s many articles about people switching to cards as a form of stocks. So what you have is 2 worlds colliding. Collectors who got the hobby to this point year after year meets corporate America who seeks to make money. Neither is wrong. Just different philosophies, mindsets and battle of the pockets. They both have helped drive the card collecting industry to the absolute height it is now.
what do you mean Zion didnt live up to the hype attached to his name on court? he averaged 23-6-2 in 24 games he played after an injury and only averaging 28 minutes a game. Lebron averaged 21-6-6 IN 40 MINUTES his rookie year loool thats literally a full quarter more per game than Zion played. MJ had 28-7-6 in his rookie season while averaging 38 minutes. 10 more minutes than Zion per game. youre telling me if Zion played a full extra quarter he wouldnt average at least 5 more points? 2 more rebounds? 1 more assist? hes literally on par with those guys and per minute much better than Lebron in his rookie year
Hes also shooting 42% from 3 while lebron shot 29% and MJ 18% in their rookie years. Im sorry I love your content but im calling major CAP here. You need to put things in perspective
Luka was averaging 21-8-6 while shooting 33% from 3 pt and playing playing 32 minutes a game in his Rookie year. I dont know what kind of numbers you were expecting from Zion (in less than 30 minutes) but hes literally on par or better than MJ, LBJ, and Luka in their rookie years.
Good points mentioned, Vincent. First of all, injury issues are perhaps Zion's #1 concern. He put up great numbers when he played...but so did Derrick Rose. Greg Oden was also supposed to be amazing...Grant Hill never overcame his injuries so it's a big concern for the time being. Just as importantly. Zion's card prices soared to such high levels that he would need to be amazing for those prices to sustain themselves. Another example would be how high Patrick Mahomes Prizm PSA 10 was going for before the NFL season started. He is doing great things again in KC yet the last I checked, his RC prices are still lower now than before the season began so everything is relative to the current price. Sometimes potential gets overvalued and someone's actual body of work is undervalued. I hope he does well next season. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Sooooo basically i shouldn't buy anymore donruss 2020 football cards 😂 i like the rookies and some of the inserts though. Im more on the collector side anyways.
Hey David! Collect as you please. From an investment standpoint, new is usually more expensive because it's exciting, has the attention, etc. I prefer overlooked and undervalued...like 2020 Donruss next year :)
When buying from COMC, would you recommend buying directly from their site or using their ebay page? Not sure if pricing is the same or if shipping times are as well. I was about to place an order on their site and it said March delivery for the standard $5 shipping fee, which is absurd.
Hey OrdinaryBeastYT. I usually buy on COMC because I want the card to stay with them and because it's cheaper. If I had to have the card shipped, I would buy on eBay but to me, I enjoy listing on COMC because I can sell on eBay if someone wants the physical card sooner. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I didn’t check any content while I was away just totally disconnected so I’ll need to catch up now! Mate, awesome sound advice as always! Wish I could’ve spent more in the off-season myself but looking forward to the new season starting! Corn on a cob 😆🙌
hey The Dollar Box. I mean, to me GOAT players during a slump in a very desirable card with no urgency to sell is low risk. Low dollar cards of GOATs means that don't have to put in much money but if it's not a desirable card then you may have trouble selling it. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Dont be afraid to pay $500 to $1000 over value for BATMAN and not Robin. AKA sidechick... that what AD is. If i can find a psa 9 Mantle card that is only $500 over value. That is a good investment. Going after a flip card aka Robin cards is not a longterm investment. Basically penny stock reference. Investing in 500 Bol Bol cards at $5 each is still a risk. In general i wouldnt invest in basketball cards, the market is completely stupid.
I been wondering how often does the vintage stuff go up in price. I know they don't go up and down like current players. Is it more of a pc thing to just have and plan on keeping and not looking to flip?

Perhaps it is best not to overpay when value buying as we often c u buy, which would b different than a swing trade when u r buying cards in the offseason..
You'll move toward the collector side mentality slowly but surely, way less stressful my man
Ya he baby rages alot. Funny watching a flipper rage. lol
@@justinb4765 It's entertaining to watch for me, definitely if no sports are on that night...
dude that's literally how my brain works. I'm a Virgo. All I do is analyze. It's just how I'm wired. Besides, I'd need another source of income that couldn't be as much fun! ;)
Let's rage!! I like entertaining y'all with my rants and rages! Have a great Thanksgiving, guys!
$40 at Whole Foods lunch 🤣🤣
Seriously! That's the scam!! ;)
what do you mean Zion didnt live up to the hype attached to his name on court? he averaged 23-6-2 in 24 games he played after an injury and only averaging 28 minutes a game.
Hi did you end up selling any of your pokemon cards ?
hey Hari. No not yet. I'm going to list the big ones on eBay more than likely. I just don't have an interest in grading them
@@TheComebackCardInvestor is it possible I be able to buy them directly from you before listing on eBay ?
If you and John Stamos had a baby, he would look better than Jesus
haha thanks Albert. that baby would at least have a thick head of hair! ;) Have a great Thanksgiving holiday!
You were very very good at what you do. You and PSA collector, both very good content. Highly recommended
Consider baseball content?
I know I’m good because I consistently flip flippers on eBay. 😉
haha nice. Keep up the hustle!
Good stuff always from Lakeland.. Go Bucs!
Thank you Bobby! I hope we can protect TB12 tomorrow night. It will be a tough test.
@@TheComebackCardInvestor Me too.. I think we will be good
Yoooooo what’s up Brad I’m back! Went down to the coast for 10 days for some surfing and much needed break from all the drama this year. Was much needed. I didn’t check any content while I was away just totally disconnected so I’ll need to catch up now! Mate, awesome sound advice as always! Wish I could’ve spent more in the off-season myself but looking forward to the new season starting! Corn on a cob 😆🙌
$9 a pound corn on the cob lol
biggest scam in the world! I think they started cutting the corn a year or 2 ago so the scam isn't as obvious lol
So is rule #2 learn to fill out a psa form correctly? Lol
lol Rules 1-10 are "read the form and fill out correctly before you royally screw yourself!"
You can’t eat them😆
I mean maybe you can. Solid non digestible fiber content! ;)
Do you have an eBay store? If so, what is the name?
hey Stephen. If you search "Black Mamba HOF" you'll find my username and my current listings. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
what has the lowest risk of investment in cards?........low dollar hall of fame players with hobby
hey The Dollar Box. I mean, to me GOAT players during a slump in a very desirable card with no urgency to sell is low risk. Low dollar cards of GOATs means that don't have to put in much money but if it's not a desirable card then you may have trouble selling it. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
@@TheComebackCardInvestor Do tennis 🎾 cards exist? How much does a Federer gem rookie 💎 fetch? 😆
I'm stuck on how was your lunch 4 lbs?
Intermittent fasting + having 3 stomachs. :) I once ate a 5lb burrito up in San Jose for a tee shirt....in under 30 minutes!!!! :D
