First time I came across your channel. My cold heart can’t take it. 4 minutes in and I’m turning to mush. I’ve been watching a few vids lately and I’m definitely going to grow this next season. Only 4 months away yikes 😬

Nice tip about discouraging squash bugs. I found out this summer that I could get a good harvest of zucchini if I planted it about the middle of July to avoid the vine borers. I had a lot of squash bugs last year but not this year. Maybe planting late helped avoid them also? Not sure.

Yes that’s absolutely true! especially zucchini and other summer squash. (I like planting early, if possible, to get a longer harvest of mature winter squash that store longer in the root cellar) :).

BIg part of our culture here in Southern India. Sadly, we lost many varieties but slowly there is a millet revival now in many parts.

I just stumbled upon your channel and had to subscribe. I love cooking/eating sorghum and have been considering growing my own. How much would you plant to provide a 5-10 pounds for just one person? I make my own maple syrup and have bees for honey, so this would be a wonderfully versatile crop to add to my rotation.

Amazing! The sorghum takes about 6 or 7 gallon juice to about 1gal of molasses. It’s not a bad ration compared to maple. I’d say if you planted 6 inches apart you could probably get that with 100 feet worth of plants . But that’s a guess.
