Free chapter sponsored by Winchester from Zachary Kienbaums Sporting Clays Foundation + Advanced instructional course.
Three-time national sporting clays champion Zachary Kienbaum shares his insights on shooting rabbit targets. Rabbit targets are thick and strong, and they roll along the ground, hitting rocks and other obstacles, which can make them harder to break. Zachary recommends using a seven-and-a-half shot and reading the speed of the target carefully. He also emphasizes the importance of barrel awareness and staying behind the target until the last second to react to its movements. This video is a must-watch for anyone looking to improve their shooting skills on rabbit targets. With Kienbaum's expert guidance, you'll gain the skills and knowledge needed to successfully shoot rolling ground rabbit targets and take your sporting clays shooting to the next level.

Best explanation I have heard on rabbit targets.. I wish this video was published 3 years ago as I struggled with rabbit targets to the point I was intimidated by them until I experimented alot and found that a pull away was the best consistent method to shoot these targets. Now Zack put it in a very scientific approach. This guy is a legend.

You’re way out in front of it. Really stare at the back edge of a rabbit

Thank you so much for the hints. I would very much appreciate an answer to the following question. Is this rabbit case an exception were we should take into consideration the barrel position? In other words, do we by pass the "do not look down the barrel" rule? Greetings from Greece

I miss a lot of cottontail rabbits off my dog and off the jump. Will these tips help on live rabbits? 🐇

The last tournament i shot had a rabbit i hit 1 out of 4 tries. And i was just a blink behind the rabbit. I went back last weekend to try and hit it and spent 8 tries and failed to hit it once. Its the fastest rabbit ive ever seen. At fishhawk sporting clays on the blue course.
I shoot the red course rabbit over and over again as it is slower and a much larger field to shoot it. And other tournaments like Sarasota clays and tampa clays they are easy. The one on the blue course is fast and a very small window to shoot it. I will take a video next time i go. Last time i was using 1250 fps shells. I think i will try 1350 or even a 1400 shell.

"In a sense I actually want to stay behind this target", " I want to be inside the lead", "I want to be matching the speed from inside the lead".
Que? Why not just tell people to slow their hands down and reduce their lead?
