    Kudos to your MIL. She's living her life. I want to be just like her. We really need to stop relying on our kids to take care of us when we are old.

    Good job to this mom/mil for taking care of herself. Love my mom, but she needs to hear this story for sure.

    This grandma has the right mindset for living her life. It's a shame she had to wait until after her husband passed before living her best life.
    My husband and I don't want our kids living with us once they become financially independent and we DEFINITELY don't want to live with them. We like our peace and quiet, and doing what we want when we want without having to worry about it conflicting with our children's time and space. We love our two children, but there comes a time when we have to let them live their own lives and we go back to living our own lives as a couple. Still have to wait another 8 years though before our youngest is off to college.

    "Grandma Visionaire" - what a powerful way to see life. Live it! like this grandmother. Ohh, the integrity, the dignity, and the pursuit of happiness. What else do you really need at such time. Find your essence of good and live it.

    She so lucky, to be a very heathy woman and still feeling strong independent person can take care herself or others god is very bless her because she has a loving , caring, treating her right, respect her support her, the important thing is her children’s understand her she has a own free dim but our Hmong true life is the children’s usually don’t care about parenting, didn’t love , care, respect, never give parents freedoms the truth hmong culture children don’t love them but just need their money and need them to take their children’s has to live under the children’s , yelling parent, kick them out when they go out or eat out the children’s didn’t wanted to invite her or take parent to go with them only want parent give out to the children’s more then children’s provide to parents what I see is only a few elder people got lucky thank you for sharing .

    Your mil is one of a kind. She's very modern. Most niam pog ces cem nyab and waiting for nyab to cater to her. Just sad that she has so much potential but was stuck with an incompatible partner for all her life. 60+ is not old.

    I like independent woman especially grandma. My grandma she lives by herself independently because she likes the way she like. Some Grandma they depend on their daughter-in-law to cook and clean for them those are not independent they want to gain a slave from their daughter-in-law.

    Many mekas folks live on their own already, only hmoob OG’s still think they can freeload off of their kids. In fact, hmoob ppl 80% still live that life of recycle love…..I (parent) care for you (kids) so later u (kids) must care for me (parents).
    Your MiL just independent n probably hav enough life savings to go out on her own. Lots hmoob OG never worked n probably don’t have enough retirement, mostly SSI, is not enough to go live on their own. So yes, it all comes down to money at the end no money no freedom.

    The author is just happy cuz she doesn’t have to take care of her mil. Sadly, her love for her mil isn’t true cuz she hasn’t been tested.

    • @mlee6092
      @mlee6092 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you're right. She's a bit self content. Mil knows she'll only be perceived as a burden so is acting strong and independent.

    • @TubLaibVaj
      @TubLaibVaj ปีที่แล้ว +3

      She doesn’t need to. Hmong people should never expect their kids to take care of them! 🙄

    • @flryprn745
      @flryprn745 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do u mean? Tested?? MiL want to do her thing, oh well, let her go! Be happy for her! What else can a nyab do? U want nyab to beg MiL to come back? Ugh really, to me the nyab is great! The nyab is just saying her MiL is different fr all these OG. Which I wish we younger generation can change too, n don’t rely so much to our kids. Geez, this is mekas, learn to take your freedom to a diff level. Be independent!

      She’s very lucky her mom in law DIDNT want to be a burden on her n other nyabs n sons

    • @meggiev2001
      @meggiev2001 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@flryprn745 what I mean is she didn’t get to take care of her mil that’s why she happy and love her mil. If she has a mil who has lots of health issue and relies on her all the time, I’m sure she wouldn’t feel the way she does to her mil. Her mil knows her places so she doing everything she can not to burden the kids, only reasons that works out.
