I understand her love for her husband but she probably cried to herself so many times and no one knows or sees it. She probably put on a happy face to keep everyone happy, and lessen the worries even when she's dying inside. Again, I understand her love for her husband, kids and in law but that doesn't mean she's not suffering in silence. But good for her, shes definitely one of a kind, I know I couldn't do it!
It sounds like she is a strong and positive person who doesn’t allow the nuisances of caring for her husband to overshadow her deep love for him. It’s not easy to be a caretaker and I’m sure it’s not sunshine and rainbows every day but sounds like she is able to weather the storm and remain an uplifting and strong force to carry the family forward. If he did emotionally cheat and mistreated her, then she would leave him in a heartbeat. His disability humbled him. It’s funny and typical how this mom was grieving more than her son about his condition. He and his wife had to console her when he’s the one going through it. And she wonders why he didn’t want to tell the mom about his condition.
To be honest, as a mom I would have probably been out of mind worried about my son’s well being and future too when learning about it initially. We just can’t help it with the unconditional love in our hearts for our children especially the older generation like our parents here. They worry about the unknown even more. We have learned to be more optimistic/positive growing up in this prosperous country with many resources and stronger support system.
