Hotline Miami and Darkest Dungeons are Western titles. It makes sense that the original English would be retained for the Japanese version.

If you buy Bio-Hazard (Resident Evil) Revelations 2 itll give you the option to play in english. I'd say 90% of it is in english. Although it's a terrible port

We need more physicals, I hope Sony follows your channel and makes finally a successor to the vita. I have children and my spare time gets more scares everyday. So my only escape is a handheld. Still enjoying sometimes the ps5 in short bursts.

Japanese Minecraft adjusts itself to whatever your system region settings are set to. So if you’re in the US, it automatically displays in English. Also, avoid buying the cases with the DLC game vouchers, they’re expired, all of them (as of 2017). I learned this the hard way, with both Sony and Mojang both refusing to help me redeem my voucher since I bought it off eBay (new and sealed too) 🤷🏽♂️ so I did some research and found out that the Japanese version works in English. Food for thought.

Hoping Sony changes their minds in a few years and plans a third playstation handheld (psp/vita hybrid). There is lots to learn from smartphones and other devices.

@@Silentwaytogo they are, it just appears that its basically a strictly remote play device for the ps5. Still disappointing.
There are some import physicals that I'd like to know about. Particularly, whether or not the Japanese versions have English subtitles. Those games are:
1. Resident Evil Revelations 2 (Japan version, not Asian English version)
2. Final Fantasy X-2 (Japan Version, not Asian English Version)
3. Caligula Effect
Wanting to know as I'd like to get physicals of these games.
Out of all of those games, only Resident Evil Revelation has English options for the Japanese version.

I don't know what example game for this topic, but many games originally for japanese than release in US and EU, have an option change the voice to japanese or japanese voice from first and unable to change
I guess it depends on the region.
Oh I also imported a physical copy of Soldner X2 (great game!) from the Hong Kong region. All voice acting 100% in English. To be fair it's a side scrolling bullet hell game. Everyone knows what to do with those. Language comprehension isn't completely necessary.
Still a great game though :)

reminded me the japanese silent hill 4 release for ps2, it sucked having to wait the usa release and for my surprise silent hill 4 had the option of english text.

Hotline Miami is in English because the game is programmed to line up with the language set on your console.

Kidding aside, if you count Asia version of Japan Only games (with CERO rating and all), id say Gundam Breaker 3 for Vita, is English outta the gate. I own that one.

I don't have any opinions on the games except Darkest Dungeon is a great game...all I can think of is "rooster hookers"😅 I guess there could be rooster hookers but most likely they would be hen hookers unless the rooster is gay, then rooster hookers all the way!

I love Darkest Dungeons - it's hard but addicting and fun - but I *DON"T* recommend this game on vita because the screen is just too small for it. It's a lot better on PC. Hotline miami is similar case - it was not made for consoles, without the keyboard the game is too hard and frustrating imo. Both games are mustplay - just not on a vita unless you're desperate

PS Vita is over 9 years old, and is thus a retired platform. Only indie devs are making games for it

I think it is worth mentioning that HLM Collected edition only has the first game of the series in the cart. You need to download the second game using a code, so if you are buying a second-hand copy, forget it ( you also need a japanese account). For Darkest Dungeon, the European physical release allows you to download all the DLC available for the Vita (it requires 1 GB of space!!!), not sure if the same applies to the japanese version (again, you need a japanese account)

Hotline Miami 2, from what I understand, is digital only.
Also, the Japanese version of Dragon Quest Builders was also in English. But, I think that got an Asian-English release, so it doesn't count

I imported the Gundam Breaker games. Once I was able to figure out the menus playing was no problem as they are action, beaten up games.
If you import from the Hong Kong region there are English options sometimes. My copy of Gundam Breaker 3 is from there and has English language options.

This is a great idea James but you would benefit us AND yourself much more if you made your videos over ten minutes (I’m not talking about adding a two minute “jingle” at the end) in length. I love your videos but many of them only have information about two or three games at most. There are many physical (and non physical) release that are English friendly I’m sure. Please, make your videos a bit longer so that you make more lonely as you absolutely deserve it and we get a bit more info. Please don’t think that I don’t appreciate all you do for us but this has been something I’ve wanted to bring to your attention for a while now. You are the man my friend....we love you!! Edit: I was right. All the pertinent information was In the first six and a half minutes. Come on dude!!
Hmm.. Thats the format ever since I sub to him, but I agree with this idea. Squeeze a bit more info about the game/s he reviews, I personally won't be disappointed if he can only upload 2-3 week, quality over quantity as they say. Other thing is if only he could have some sponsors to do an Ad-read mid video so he can hit that sweet 10min+ threshold :)
I understand where you're coming from. The reason why I do the format like this is because I plan to stick with PS Vita content indefinitely. So I am stretching said content as far as it will go. By including 3 games per video, this gives me the opportunity to make multiple parts in the future. If I added all the games in one segment then I would only be lessing my options for future content down the line. Its just my way for planning ahead. :)
Only one I don't have is Hotline Miami for 2 reasons. First, I originally wasn't a fan of that kind of game and didn't even bother getting it digitally. Then when I finally wanted it and saw it was available physically, I didn't know it had English options and passed it again...
