Keith Boyce ~ not mentioned often but a superb all round cricketer.Beautiful rhymic run up to deliver quick deliveries. Big hitter of the ball, and a throw like an Exocet missile! The complete package and a great servant of Essex.
Rohan Kanhai was my favourite cricketer for many years. The first two times that I saw him were when WI played test series against England and against Australia in T & T in the 60's. I still remember a 100+ that he made. I just thought that he was a superb batsman. He's a legend to me.
when they game was a fair competition between bowler and batsmen, when the bats were the size of tooth picks and a four was a four and a six was six!!!!
AS I was watching this again, after a couple years, I recalled the Lord Kitchener calypso about this 1st World Cup...."They bring a judge and jury, to sentence LLoyd and Kalli, Ah water Lillee, they beat you like a bobolee."
Recently watching this, I recaptured the spirit thinking I was still in England. I am an ex-pat from the UK to the US, and I was overjoyed that I could block out the US and its influences from my mind at the time of my viewing.
What lovely game cricket was back then a good cricketer would emerge and last would become an icon through that game. But the new comers will come and fade quickly . To mention a few haynes grinage Richards lara were part of what was once a ledgend .the last of that great west Indian legend would be chris gayle no other has been fordge
Wow beautiful old school cricket match excited Clive Loyd
Great lefthander Clive Lloyd. We will never see another Clive Lloyd ever . What a graceful left hander
Lloyd was commander general. His innings was beautifully cavalier & superb and every one in his team followed his example.
What a gentleman Clive Lloyd is and a great cricketer as well! I remember seeing him play for Lancashire many times at Old Trafford, great days!
Riche Beanud, Love pal.

Good to see the cricket of 1970s when India were still underdogs and West Indies were ruling the scene unlike today where boundaries are shorter

Dennis Amiss - what a great player he was and far too many of his great test and one day innings sadly not available for us to see these days
What super century from deniss
Brilliant nine wicket partnership from Murray and Robert setting victory in world cup the young west Indies players should learn from this experience
This was not even West Indies' strongest side. The 1979 team was unbelievable.
A fabulous series, and an amazing final, only matched (or slightly surpassed) by the 2019 final. Great days, the West Indies in their ascendancy.
